Age Gap of 30 Years from my USC Wife

The age gap is common, even more than 30 years. Never seen an older female, what would be the point?

That's my point exactly. The BENEFICIARY, be they male or female is almost always the young one. Are there cases of US citizens marrying someone 30 years and older from abroad? This is why USCIS may view it as a red flag.

From reading this website for about a year, I have come to the conclusion that people who are new to the website think a big age gap is a red flag, and people who have been here for awhile is see it as a minor issue at most....for many it is a non-issue. One poster even said it would be against the law to deny a petition based soley on age difference as that would be age discrimiantion.

I would be prepared to answer questions about the age difference, but I would not worry about it. It is what it is. Good luck!!

No this is first time i dated mature women.

Yes....you said it better than me. A large age gap is not the deciding factor...however, it could be "one more log on the fire."

Just like what the first responder mentioned, every case is unique and having that age gap maybe or may not be an issue. Gather evidence as much as you can, this is the only way you can prove that your relationship is real and good luck with the interview.

I agree with Time Travel. My husband and I are 23 years apart. The interviewing officer never asked my husband any questions about the age difference. Good Luck.

I think it has to do with the country & customs, some young men in Jamaica like older women

and the embassy folks trained in a country customs B4 being placed is aware of these habits,

even though often times the lure is the security & stability & its accepted culturally by some

so there are less scrutinity, however countries where older men are with younger wives & the other

way around is not the norm , families have inputs in relationships, there tend to be arranged marriages

as the norm, heirs are expected of course its a big red-flag for 30 yrs...they will ask about wanting kids,

religion, how family feels about te union, and what do you really have in common but the immigration

benefits(CO thoughts) Just be very prepared its bonafide and its love good luck

Age difference between parties is very common in Western world and some parts of Asia (like Philippines and Japan). Thus, its not a big deal to Americans

I disagree, such an age difference isn't common at all in the Western world, and certainly not "very common". Have yet to meet parents-in-law ok with ther future daughter in law being older than them.

OP, I think you will be fine, just have great evidence.

I am ""a lot"" older than my Filipino wife, but it is very, very common in that country, as Filipino women want older more mature men, usually.

4) What does her family/friends think of your relationship?

I'm 2 years older than my husband, age was never brought up at any stage and my husband is preparing for citizenship. Just be prepared with lots of evidence ad for any questions, should they come up.

My husband is 22 years older than me. CO never point it out. It never been an issue during the interview. As long as your relationship is genuine. Good luck.

He was asking for questions he might encounter, so I thought of a few. If I were a CO I would ask those questions. No-one forced him to answer.
