Rings or no rings during K1 interview?

I have a weird question. My fiance and I have been together for along time, as a gesture of loyalty to each other we began wearing matching rings on our ring fingers about 7 years ago (I treat them as promise rings), and then 2 years ago we officially got engaged. Our K1 interview is coming up and I wonder whether we should remove our promise rings to avoid any chance of the consular officer thinking that we might be married. However, if we remove our rings, that might be suspicious too because you could see our rings in many of the evidence photos we provided. Of course we'll tell the truth if asked about the rings.. I just want to know which is better to do?

This is actually a difficult question.

Personally if it was me, I wouldn't remove the rings.

They are already in your photos and they could very well be just engagement rings.

Just if asked be totally honest, they were promise rings that turned into engagement rings.

I doubt they will be noticed but you never know.

Another vote for keeping them on. If it makes you feel better, put them on the other hand. I'd leave them. So you both wear and engagement ring. It's a personal choice and neither of you are married. It shouldn't be an issue.

If you've been wearing those rings that long, keep them. You probably have the ring tan/markings anyway that would give you off. Easy to explain that those are promise rings plus your fiance has the CENOMAR to prove she's single. Promise rings aren't unusual in the Philippines anyway.

The rings themselves are not important. Wear them or don't wear them, it's not going to affect your interview. The CO is likely to ask you more about your relationship and wedding plans than to ask you about what you are wearing.

My wife wore her ring to the interview. Not even an issue.

It's not a weird questions but I think you are over thinking it.

Just be natural and honest...they are trained to sniff out any inconsistencies.

Wear the rings if you want, they won't affect the interview outcome.

I know this is a different situation, but the reason why it concerned me is because my fiance had applied for a Tourist visa a year ago and she got denied at her interview. She told me that at one point during the questioning, the CO eyeballed her ring finger, which of course had both our promise ring and engagement ring. The CO paused for a moment after looking at my fiance's hand, then told her "sorry but you could always try next time for a spousal or fiance visa". We were honest that she just wants to visit me for a short time while her annulment process finishes up -- which could very well be the reason why she got denied. But that moment were she paused to look at her ring though... maybe the CO thought we were lying. Again, different situation still.

tourist visa adjudication rules are different , compared to K-1 visa adjudication rules.

Please think about 'this' a bit more, this comparison, studying the gap , aye?

Comparing a tourist visa process and the K-1 visa process is .. well... like comparing sand and water ....

If your otherhaldf was going for a tourist Visa and had, what appeared to be, an engagement/wedding ring on then 100% that would be a red flag. A Tourist Visa is for somebidy to go on a temporary basis. A Fiance(e) Visa is whole different ball game. I would think, no matter the embassy. it would a good idea to wear a ring to show some sort of engagement has taken place.
