Its exactly 4 months since my husband sent our I 130 package. Until now we haven't heard a good news from USCIS... My question is how long does it take to get an approval? Our petition was routed to Nebraska service center.

It took us about 5 months until USCIS looked at our case. This seems about average.

The Philippines were being expedited though, has that changed? (usually they were getting approvals within a few weeks.)

Its case to case basis, we are among the lucky ones who got approved in less than a month. but there are many as well who got approved for more than 6 months.

Just keep praying and have faith, your NOA2 will come soon.

Yeh I think it just depends. I filed in December - approved in January - and we called NVC yesterday to check if the NOA2 approval was mailed out. And they told us yes it was mailed out yesterday and we should have it soon.

They are currently overloaded but the New Hampshire NVC office is open 7am-midnight EST so maybe call and ask.

The lady on the phone I spoke to was really nice and she gave us our case number.

ours went to Vermont - Nebraska I have heard are one of the slower processing centres.

Phone

(603) 334-0700. Customer Service Representatives can speak with you Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays.

Important Notice: Due to extremely hazardous weather conditions, the National Visa Center was closed on Monday, February 9, 2015.

Due to this closure, the National Visa Center expects a higher volume of phone calls for the remainder of this week. You may experience longer wait times when calling us. We regret any inconvenience this may be causing.

Aug 31st 2013: Got engaged in UK

Aug 25th 2014: Got Married in Canada

Dec 15th 2014: I-130 Filed with Chicago Lockbox

Dec 18th 2014: Packaged received by USCIS
Dec 22nd 2014: Received NOA 1
Jan 14th 2015: Received NOA 2. Case APPROVED with no RFEs
Feb 20th 2015: Case # Assigned by NVC (will be going to Montreal for Interview)
