I stayed at Bayview Park Manila Hotel when I had my interview this morning. I booked thru booking.com. It costs me 3,700pesos for 1 night with free parking, free breakfast buffet, free wifi, tax included, open bar and a safety deposit box which is very useful since you are not allowed to bring gadgets in the interview, you have a safe place to leave your things up. I got myself a superior queen bed with sea view. The hotel location is just across US Embassy Manila. I had late check in at 9pm due to my delayed flight but I checked out as late as 1pm for free. Every hour late check out would charge you 200pesos per hour.

Another good way to find a good place is to use Air B & B web site. We rented a condo, so we're able to cook, do laundry, has 7th floor pool, and its on the corner of Kalaw/Roxas Blvd; Eton Residence Tower. Across from Luneta Park, MOP, a short walk from the Embassy, Starbucks, Yellow Cab and a doughnut shop. There were several places on this site in the Ermita area. Many in Robinson Towers also. Ours was $29 per night for long term rental.

Has anyone rented a condo thru rentpad.ph.... for their stay in manilla for interview and medical

I found the website and it seems there are some nice places that are semi-furnished 2 BR for about 19,000 PHP a month

Fiance will be flying in from Davao City, I talked her into having her 2 sisters travel with her since I wouldn't be able to make the interview and this way they will be able to have some girl time before she leaves for TEXAS...

Planning on them staying in Manila for 2weeks until Visa in hand... Then 2 sister will be flying bck to Davao and wife will be flying to H-town

Has anyone else done this or have a better, safer or cheaper place they resided while waiting for their Visa to be process

Bigant, I have no knowledge of any of that. 19,000 seems reasonable though.

My fiancee stayed in Hotel Gran Prix...the Wifi is terrible. I recommend Paragon for an economy style room; their internet was better!

Stayed at the Belmont in Resorts World. It's a big step down from the Marriot, but it's new, clean, and the shuttle is free. Easy walking distance to the casino.

I have staid at Isabela Gardens, it's in Paranaque, to far from the Embassy and ST Luke, it's not bad, it's old and it's cheap, I think $20-22.00 (24hrs) through Orbitz when I was there last year. Free breakfast, but you have to pay for Wifi and there is not much around, but not bad for an over night or two.

But, now I stay in hotels all the time for work, so my standards are pretty low. no bed bugs, clean(ish) sheets and towles and I do not get murdered in my sleep, IE locking door.

One hotel in Cubao that is hit or miss, depending on the room is the Winter hotel, its 1080 or 1050 for 24 hrs, but its 980 per 24hr every night after that. I have staid there many nights, like I said its hit or miss, but if you go ask for a room with a window, the inside rooms I do not like. I have staid in maybe 5-6 different rooms, I now only stay there if In the Manila metro. It is with in walking distance of Arnetta center, Gateway mall Farmers Mall, some other mall forgot the name of and tons of restaurants and street veneers, plus walking distance to the bus stations and its right off Aroura BLVD and near another major Hwy so tons of taxes, jeepnies and tricycles.

There is only wifi in the lobby, that is a down side and it's sometimes not the cleanest place, but its darn convenient.

I have staid there so much, they remember me from a year ago..

Winter Hotel in Cubao, its about $20 per night

Isabela Gardens, about $22-24, in Parnarque

Winter hotel is 200php taxi drive, 45 min or less at 2am from St Luke and Embassy and 400php back at noon ( this was just what they charged my fiancee a couple days ago)

Or you can go the hostel route for 5-10 bucks, but I am to old for that, I was to old for dorm rooms when I was in college and my 20's though.

but around 20 US $$ you can get a OK/nice by my low standards hotel most anywhere in the metro if you look..

Best thing to do is go to Orbitz.com, Kayak.com, Priceline.com,etc and just start searching for something near that area, however I noticed that most stuff (did not look at hostles) are higher in that area, I am sure it has to do with the US embassy and some other things in that area..

We are staying at the Lotus Gardens Hotel. I booked the hotel and flight through Travelocity and took a deluxe upgrade on the room. It is a decently large room with a double bed, a very small bathroom and separate sink. No in-room safe, no kitchenette, but large enough cable TV, water pot, wifi internet, free breakfast, and 3 blocks away from USEM and close to Robinsons Mall.

Because I booked the flight and the room together, I only booked for 1. But in the comment/special request section, I said my fiancee would be staying with me. I got an email that said it would be an extra 800 pesos a night for my fiancee to stay. This is the only hotel of the 4 that I've stayed in that charged extra for my fiancee to stay with me.

My first trip to Manila, we stayed in the Regency Grand Suites, which is beside Robinsons Mall. Queen size bed, kitchenette, small balcony, free wifi and breakfast. Smaller room than Lotus Gardens but larger bathroom, and the kitchenette is between the bathroom and bedroom.
