Hello, Anyone from Jamaica deal with a visitor visa thru the Jamaica Embassy? I submitted a DS-160 (B2 visa) for my 16 yo stepchild (her father is in America obviously). what evidence is needed to bring to interview? She doesn’t work, she’s in high school. Her family is in Jamaica. She WILL be going back, I know you have to show proof of that but how? Thanks

Hi. My husband got his interview letter today for November 2023. We went to schedule the medical at Andrews hospital (Kingston, Jamaica) online and the only date available was a week before the interview. We're not sure if that will give us enough time to have the medical ready. Can anyone say what the turnaround time has been recently? Someone who has had theirs done recently, that is.

My husband had a K-1 visa interview in January 2020 and was denied for a year because his drug test was positive but he hadn’t smoked in months when we started the visa process. He was supposed to get randomly tested but didn’t know because he was so disappointed that I was pregnant and he was denied that he didn’t go through the papers and understand that he had to contact St. Andrews for them to know to contact him to do the random test (which I think is stupid I think the embassy should contact them or they should know the test is positive when they send it over and make a list of the people interview dates so they know to contact them after for the year) so I lost the baby the next month and decided that July I wanted to get married in case we got pregnant again I would share my baby last name. I started the process for the spousal visa in September that year. We got our case sent over to the embassy January 29, 2021 and his interview was August 19, 2022. When he went to get do his medical that’s when we found out about the random testing he should have been doing. They said he couldn’t do it but then changed their minds and let him. When he went to his interview they said they needed his medical and a court document about a case he had in 2011. He has been back 4 or 5 times but we have not heard anything back. He went for his last test last week Friday and next month will make it 6 months since his interview. I don’t know what to expect but this is going on year five of us together but apart and I need some type of hope

My mother in law filed IR1 for her husband in March of 2021 to bring him from Jamaica to the USA. They have followed the process until the last email notice from NVC in Feb 2022 stating : The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas. NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in KINGSTON, JAM to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable). ..no contact since. They have waited but wondering how long more they should wait to do nothing. Should they be contacting Kingston or NVC and who should they be contacting. I have read different statements in regards the interview that he should call to make an appointment, however the email said to wait until they schedule interview for him. Please advise next steps of where and who to contact for further update. thank you.

Hey guys, I am onthe last stretch of my visa journey and it’s so frustrating that I decided to share my story. I know I am probably not the only one who is going through this, however, I do feel sometimes alone in my journey. So first, a back story. My father who is an American citizen filed for me in August 2018. At that time I was going to school in the states and I wanted to my adjust my status. Unfortunately , I had to come back to my home country due to financial reasons and I strongly believe that caused a delay in my journey because I had to tell USCIS that I’m not in the country anymore. It took a whole year for the petition to be approved and another year for them to approve that I was no longer in the United States. So it was in 2020 when NVC contacted me stating that they have my case. That was in September and by December I was DQ. So we all know that due to coronavirus as well as the ban that Donald Trump placed on an immigration it further delayed my case for another year and a half. Surprisingly I received an email from NVC stating the embassy has my case and my interview date is April 5, 2022. Fast forward the interview was horrible I felt as if I was a criminal being interrogated and to be honest I bawled my eyes out because I really believed that it’s not going to be a good outcome. The officer did take my passport and documents and gave me a 221g requesting tax documents and a marriage certificate for my parents and I submitted everything within a week time which was April 11, 2022. It’s been over a month now and I heard nothing from the embassy regarding my case and I check my status each day and it states that my visa has been refused. I am worried and anxious practically a ball of emotions and I don’t know what else to do. I have been waiting on this so long. I paused furthering my studies because of this and I have just been doing odd jobs to keep my self occupied until my time came. Now I feel as if I am wasting my years away and I need to get the ball rolling. I started my visa journey at 18 now I am 22 years old. As anyone been through this, please let me know your experience🙏🏾
