Hello, We have a peculiar case. My wife's name is A B C D(surname) on her passport Let's say my name is X Y(surname) On the marriage certificate we got my wife's changed to C A B Y(my surname). C is her actual name, for some reason her parents kept her middle name first in the passport and birth certificate when she was little. Now we are on the NVC stage. Seems like changing passport name might take a month. Can we submit the NVC ds260 as per passport name and later give the officer the updated name change passport at interview? ( NVC to interview is taking around 2-3months processing time and delaying ds260 submission would delay that) On the i130 I mentioned C A B Y as her main name, and A B C D as her alias.

Hi! How can I change the interview location in form DS 260 (dv lottery) before submission? I'm filling this for a friend, and due to war in Sudan, he won't be able to have his interview in Khartoum, Sudan. So, I suggested a couple of countries that require a counter visa only for Sudanese citizens; So I put Malaysia as starters and proceeded with filling the rest of the form thinking I can go back and change the embassy location once we made a final decision. The problem is that when I went back to change the interview location, this section was no longer active and grey color. I can't change it anymore no matter what, even though I haven't submitted the form yet. Does this mean I have to email KCC to unlock it for me? Help, please! I attached a screenshot. Thanks in advance!

My wife has been a homemaker for the past 12 years. Recently (a couple months ago) she did start helping at her mother's shop. In the "current work" section I've done the following: Primary Occupation - Homemaker Other occupations? - Shop Clerk In the "previous work" section it asks ""Were you previously employed?" If you choose "yes" it says "Provide the following information on all of your employers from the last ten years, starting with the most recent employer." What's the correct way to answer? The application is so weird, because in the "current other" occupation they don't ask for details on your supervisors.

Hello. i just got approved(USC IR1 Spouse PH beneficiary) and still waiting for my welcome letter from NVC but I want to get ahead and prepare my self to fill up the forms. I'm not sure of this is the right section but my question is: I'm reading ahead about the DS-260 sample forms and I noticed some parts about spouse and children. My situation is I've been here staying in the Philippines since 2018 and living together with my wife and my child. my kid is already a US Citizen via CRBA and have US passport. I still have strong ties in the US(house, DL, banks etc). I Would like to know how to fill this up? is your spouse immigrating to the us with you? How should I answer this? should I answer NO? since me the petitioner is already a US citizen and will sure to travel with her along with my kid to the USA. is your child immigrating with you? How should I answer this? should I answer NO? since my kid is already a US Citizen and have US passport will sure to travel with us back to usa. thank you

Hi All, Good Day! I just want to ask if anyone experience the same thing I did about the Online application of DS-260. In the "Present and Previous Address Information" where you got to mention in chronological order the places or addresses you've been from the day you turned 16 up to present. I wonder why, I always got Application Error every time I press save or press Next. Please advise. Thanks in advance

Hi, I'm filling DS-260 and want to choose the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur for my interview instead of my country Sudan due to war going on right now, all embassies have closed permanently but I can enter Malaysia without a visa. I would like to know if they accept scheduling DV lottery appointments for non-residents. Please share your experience if you had your interview there, what are the required documents? Does KCC require proof of residency in Malaysia for them to sent my case there? Thank you!

From what I have gathered on this forum, it is quite a possibility that the NVC asks an EB2 applicant to actually mail instead of uploading their civic docs, because the CEAC portal may not have the uploading option for them. Now my question is : does the NVC mail those docs to the consulate? And if there is something already in there, like an original document, then the consulate can't ask me for it, right, because they should know they already got it? Because if not, then what if a document that has no copy such as the RCMP police certificate is asked by the consulate when I have mailed it to the NVC already? Am I just supposed to get another police certificate? (if that one has expired, then sure, no matter what I should get one, but what if it's still valid) [The same goes for certified translations of docs although that is a minor issue. I could ask the translator for copies of the translation with the seal on it, even though only one will be the true original translation. ]

Hello everyone! 😊 I am a bit confused about the DS-260 and the question about my primary occupation. I’m working in an office in full time currently, nothing special. There’s a list full of occupations and I just chose “others”, is that correct? Also, I was wondering, if I don’t have to provide any previous jobs from the last years? And then there’s another question about what I want to work as in the US, and I again chose “Others” and wrote down “Office job/Administration job”, is that alright? Thank you so much 😊
