Embassy says they don't have our case

So according to CEAC website, our case left NVC on October 17, and reached the embassy (Madrid) on October 19, that's exactly one week ago. But now the embassy says they don't have our case there yet. Our case was approved on September 22, and reached NVC on Otober 7. According to official website it has been at the embassy for a week, but the embassy says it's not there.

I am freaking out. Does anyone have an idea of what may be going on?

When I got to my fiance's interview, the man behind the counter looked right at me and said. How did you get this interview? I got really nervous. I said I followed the process. He asked if I had received anything from the Embassy, etc. I said no, but I had the instructions, and I held them up. He said our case wasn't there. I started freaking out, and my fiance was as calm as could be. The man went and searched again and found it somewhere.

The point is, that maybe they do have your case, even if they say they don't. I recommend that you move forward with the few steps. Fill out the DS-160. Work on scheduling a medical. Get together all the paperwork you will need for the interview. If the CEAC website says it is there, then it must be there. Try calling another day, and you can perhaps speak with a different representative.

Thank you. I cannot call the embassy because Madrid embassy does not accept calls (which is really frustrating).

I read each country is different. In Madrid, I have to wait for their letter (packet 3) to send all my documents back to them, and it is only after they get all the documents that they arrange an interview date. I cannot arrange the interview myself.

I wrote them back with all our details. I really hope they will look more into it and find it!!

How do you know they do not have your information? When did you last hear from them? Did you explain what it said on CEAC?

Yes, I wrote them yesterday asking them about our case, because on CEAC it says it's been there for a week, but still not packet 3. And they answered today saying they don't have our case yet. That's why I'm freaking out.

I emailed them again with a screenshot of CEAC website and our details (names, case numbers, etc). I'm waiting for their answer.

It is totally normal that cases are there (embassy) but not in the system yet just stacked somewhere waiting to be processed.

You need to give it some time.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you. I have checked the CEAC website again and the status date has been changed to October 26 (yesterday). So I guess that means someone processed or reviewed our case yesterday?

Ok, then I'm back to the beginning. I don't know where my file is. CEAC says it's at embassy. Embassy says it's not.
