Hello!

My fiancé and I will be getting married this month in Canada. I am a Canadian and he is an American!

From there I will be applying for my green card so I will be able to move to the USA to live and work and reside with him!

My manager for the company I work for is willing to get my transferred within the company to Windsor, ON so I may still work until I am granted my green card! Am I able to work in Canada while living across the border in Detroit?

Do I need any special visas?

Do you know how long the green card process may take by going this way?

Does anyone have any insight! We are already doing long distance and it's getting very frustrating! We just don't want to be not working!

I've tried to read these articles and see what process seems the best but it becomes very overwhelming. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance! :)

It would be faster to do a K1 visa but then you can't get married until after the visa is in hand

If you want to get married before it takes much longer and you need Spousal visa it is not a quick process where you get married and are given a green card. Also you cannot live in the US until your spousal visa is granted.

You can work in Canada and live in the USA after you get the visa to move. Until then you must live in Canada.

Because working is important for you, I suggest continuing your path for the CR1 visa.
