How long does it take to get emergency travel authorization?

We are in the process of sending in our AOS and my father was preliminary diagnosed with stomach cancer and we thought we had more time. Now the official diagnosis is inoperable pancreatic cancer and time is running out. Is there a point in even trying to get the AOS in and expedite travel authorization or should we just abandon ship and do spousal visa? I'd leave around September 7 unless there's a drastic change.

They didn't have any infopasses available so I went there as it says they accept emergencies. Desk lady stone walled me and didn't let me in but basically said they can't do anything until I have sent in AOS. I just want to know if there's even a chance we'll get emergency travel authorization as fast as I need it.

Can you send your AOS ASAP...like tomorrow? It took us 9 days to get the NOA after we sent the paperwork.

Maybe someone else can shed light on how long it actually takes to get an expedite. But you might as well try.

That's the goal depending on how fast my husband can get a statement from his employer. Should be fast as they know what's going no. Thank you for the info, it helps a lot!

You know, it wouldn't hurt to get your local Congressperson involved. Call them up and see if there's anything they can do to help the expedite. Mine was really helpful when our K-1 was delayed. I don't know how much power they really have over that stuff, but still- try everything! Good luck, I hope this works out for you and I'm really sorry about your dad.

Yeah the first thing my husband did this morning was contacting our congressman who helped us during the k1 process. really hope that helps!

Well you need a pending AOS to be qualified for Advance Parole. My cousin's emergency AP was approved at her infopass in less than an hour. She brought following documents to infopass appointment:

1. Her I-485 receipt & passport.

2. Her birth certificate to show relationship with her Mom (who had terminal cancer, and sadly she passed away yesterday :( )

3. Her Mom's treatment statement by hospital and translation.

4. 2 passport pictures.

They printed her 2 of I-512L forms (Houston officer was super nice and understanding by the way.)

N400

12/06/2014: Package filed

12/31/2014: Fingerprinted

02/06/2015: In-Line for Interview

04/15/2015: Passed Interview

05/05/2015: Oath letter was sent

05/22/2015: Oath Ceremony

Yeah I've been to an infopass before and the immigration officers are super nice and sympathetic but you just have to get passed the lady with no heart at the desk to get there...

Thank you for great info, I feel a bit better now. We're definitely going to try to have it sent off tomorrow and hopefully I'll get back to Sweden before it's too late.

I realize this is a complete digression from your question and the topic, but: is this the USCIS office in Vienna? If yes, good to know I"m not the only one who had to deal with that "lovely" woman.

Yes, it's the office right by the Dunn Loring office. She's the most horrible person I've ever had to deal with.

You need to file, nothing to currently expedite.
