Wow. how did you manage to get a marriage certificate that fast and have all documents ready to go? Wish I could be as diligent as you. Congrats!

We do the online pre-registration for the marriage license, get there early and got the ceremony done, as well as ordered 10 certified copies.

We are done within 1 hour. The office was not crowded as all. There were only 2, 3 people waiting.

Overall, a very nice experience getting married at their main office.

The whole package we prepared them in advance, leaving space for the certified marriage licenses.

The post office is across from the court house so all in all, it's a very efficient operation planned by my spouse and I.

How long did it take for USCIS to receive your package? I sent mine last Monday (11 July 2016) via USPS from North Carolina. I tracked it today it says "Your item arrived at our CHICAGO, IL 60607 destination facility on July 13, 2016 at 8:51 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination." I was just wandering on average how long it is taking for packages to get there.

Thanks in Advance

Yor item arrived at our CHICAGO, IL 60607 destination facility on July 13, 2016 at 8:51 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.

I sent mine 7/14/2016 per USPS tracking it was delivered to destination 7/16/2016 which is a Saturday, I am assuming they are closed on weekends?? but til now 7/18 (Monday) no emails or text.. .

Question to the group.

I filed my AOS, EAD, and AP this month, which was received by the USCIS on July 11, 2016. I am applying under the EB2 category. Unfortunately, I just learned today by the reading the August bulletin (which apparently covers documents that were received by July 11th) that there will be retrogression for all EB2 applicants, which makes my priority date (June 2014) no longer current.

My questions are:

1. Will the USCIS reject my application for AOS? If so, do I have to re submit the same documents once my category becomes current again? Or will they automatically process my application once my category becomes current?
2. Does this retrogression affect the processing of my application for EAD and AP?
Thanks in advance.

My wife and I are starting to get a little concerned. K1 to Greencard AOS. Here is our timeline:

Sent package via Fedex June 29

Package arrived to lockbox June 30 10am

nothing since then.... No NOA, have not cashed check...

It is possible they sent an email to my wife's email. We are having a difficult time accessing her Chinese email account outside of China. We used my ph#, but they haven't sent a text either.

Gatsby9 got his sent back within that amount of time. So, we are wondering if it is lost in a quagmire somewhere... Anyone know what ph# to call?

1-800-375-5283. You should be prepared to provide the USCIS representative with specific information about your application, such as your receipt number, Alien Registration Number, name and date of birth.

@p-ana and @jseachao907 Thanks, I poked around a bit on the website and found this:

If you have questions related to:

Office of Intake Document Production

a filing mailed to the Chicago, Dallas, or Phoenix Lockbox.

For example, you have questions about:

  • the reason your submission was rejected.
  • how or where to submit an application or petition that should be filed at one of the three Lockbox locations.
  • whether we received your application/petition if you filed more than 30 days ago and you have not yet received a receipt notice.
  • a recent filing at one of the three Lockbox locations.

I guess we should wait until they haven't gotten back to us for 30 days. I did read in an earlier AOS forum that someone didn't hear back for 3 weeks. It will be three weeks this Thursday, maybe we're just getting impatient. But, it is worrisome that others got a reply back so quickly...

I was in that situation before when I did my K1. Don't hear anything from anybody then 23 days later I got all the package back because the name on the check was wrong. Hope you don't have to start it all over again.

@iipenny- Thanks, we're hoping we don't have to refile too! #fingerscrossed ;)

We've been turning over and over in our heads thinking of reasons that it may have been delayed. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't write a cover letter. Everything else, I checked over three times and followed every step to the letter (as best I could, I don't think any of us are professional visa agents!). Back to waiting. :)
