I sent my package Priority to vermont service center last Saturday to their St address with signature confirmation, however I checked usps tracking website and I saw this :S

  • Expected Delivery Day: Tuesday, April 1, 2014
  • Your item was refused by the addressee at 1:58 pm on March 31, 2014 in SAINT ALBANS, VT 05479 and is being returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Any thoughts of this, and how long to receive the package ??

What package you sent? your application? As far as I know, you should send it to the lockbox address not directly to them.

Question

Return to Sender mail can't be delivered to the original recipient. If the USPS is unable to deliver the mail as addressed it will be returned to the sender according to the return address on the mailpiece.

  • Priority Mail Express (Show / Hide)

Item is held for 5 days before being returned to sender. During this time, an attempt is made to correct the address and complete delivery.

Maybe there is no one to sign for packages at PO BOX but the package got delivered anyway?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/200815-sent-aos-by-priority-mail-but-got-refused-information-from-usps/

Wait for a few days to see if you get your package back or the check is cashed.

Yeah, I saw your timeline after I posted and you should have been OK.. You'll just have to wait and see why it was refused. The good news is that you still have plenty of time to straighten it out. Hope you receive something soon!

This thing just happened to us now! Refused by addressee, got the package back now and with NO reason why???? What should I do with the address? I addressed it USCIS Vermont Service center, 75 Lower Welden Street, P.O. Box 200 St. Albans, VT 05479-0001. It's exactly what's written. What's wrong with that? why would they refuse and just send it back without any reason????

wrong postage? what do you mean with 'wrong postage'? They put a little not on my package that says "refused by addressee Returned for $3.73 additional postage when remailing, cross out his notice or paste stamps over it." I really don't understand. we sent via UPS Priority Mail and they send back without any reason? just that little note? This is nuts!

There was a reason on it, as I explained in your other thread. Not enough postage. It means you did not pay enough to send it, but they did not realize it, so the mail people took it to VT and said "will you pay this additional postage required for this package?" And VT said NO, and they sent it back. You need to put $3.73 more in stamps on it.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

thanks.

Yeah.. I figured it out after all... You're right, I think it was the wrong postage amount. But it wasn't our fault! They weighed and charged us that amount and after all the delivery they made, they send it back just because it needs 3.73 additional?! That's nuts! It costs them more returning back to me, I think. It's their error not ours! tsk.. tsk.. terrible service. Now, we just wasted few days. :clock:
