Hello and welcome!

No co-sponsor is allowed for a K-1, sorry. After when you get married and apply for a CR-1 then the co-sponsor is allowed.

I am not sure about the K-3, maybe some of our members has acknowledge of it.

Good luck and regards!

Hi there

I just had my interview last week and was asked to return to submit a new sponsor (I-134) as my current sponsor's last year gross (according to them) is not enough. So the CO asked me to get a new sponsor (my father in law this time) and i got the approval after a week of resubmission.

My Advise - if your sponsor's income isnt enough, find a new sponsor and prepare the following:

New I-134

Sponsors passport copy

Sponsors's last 3 years tax and w2

Current pay slip (bring at least the last 3 months)

hope this helps!

" If you are having trouble meeting the consulate’s standards for getting a fiancé visa, one option is to have another family member or friend in the United States agree to serve as a joint sponsor. A joint sponsor is someone who agrees to share responsibility for the K-1 visa holder's financial support with the primary sponsor, up to the full amount of the support. In other words, if the U.S. sponsor can’t support the K-1 visa holder, the joint sponsor can be held 100% responsible for the support (and is not allowed to merely choose a percentage or limit on how much to pitch in). Joint sponsors can indicate their willingness to help by signing a separate Affidavit of Support on Form I-134. "

This is only for Manila, PI. Almost all other countries allow and often request a co-sponsor as a back-up. Yes, UAE allows them and sometimes even if you barely make enough will ask you to get one.

I'll be going through Abu Dhabi with a co-sponsor as well!

@ mafia_girl does your interview letter mentioned you need a co sponsor or you just made it and took it for interview. My letter doesnt asks for co sponsor but said you need joint sponsor if you are unemployed. I am employed but feel like my yearly income isnt enough so should i make one too? Please shed some ideas. Thanks
