I Filed on Sat. December 1st, 2012 at the Vermont Service Center. I Just found out they have a hudge backlog and are now processing May 2012 applications. This is so depressing.... Anyone else file in Dec. and feel the way I do. I have hope and faith in good things will move quickly. But it is hard thinking that this may drag on for a year or so... Anyone know how long it takes them to catch up??? :help::unsure::crying:

I check at least 3 times a day! I am almost at 40 days and I have seen people approved at 40, 49, 59 days so I keep hoping I will get lucky too.. I know the chances are slim but I pray for under 3 m

Vermont is sending all new apps to NBC (National Benefits Center). Don't worry. You should be approved in a shorter time than you think. They are processing much faster than Vermont (VSC). They send your petition to a field office, not a service center.

04/04/2022: Check for passport cashed.

05/03/2022: Status changed to "The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport book. We're now printing your passport book and preparing to give it to you. You should receive your passport book on or around 05/09/2022."

05/05/2022: Passport Received.

05/09/2022: SSA Citizenship Status Updated.

05/25/2022: Naturalization Certificate received in mail.

Our File was received in Chicago on this week Monday 12/3. I just started reading these sites and I'm starting to get disappointed. My lawyer told me it was a 7 to 9 mo process from when we filed till my husband got his visa. I am seeing that is not how it will work out.


USCIS - 66 days ROC - 139 days from sent to approved
12/3/2012 - I-130 delivered to Chicago 5/20/15: mailed I-751 package to California office
12/4/2012 - NOA1 NBC (Missouri Service Center MSC) 5/22/15: Date on NOA1
12/6/2012 - Check cashed 8/26/15: Bio appointment

12/8/2012 - Received paper NOA1 10/06/15: Received Email card was being processed
12/20/2012 - Case number showed up on USCIS website
1/29/2013 - Called USCIS and case is still at NBC
2/8/2013 - Received an Email that we were approved on 2/7/13
3/5/2013 - Told file may have been "misplaced" to email NOA2 to NCVresearch
3/7/2013 - ISO at the USCIS opened a service request to try to track down
if and when the file was shipped. Should hear something before 3/26 ( so she said)

NVC - 119 days NVC to Visa in hand

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I had checked with a few lawyers all are telling people it only takes 7 to 9 mo to get your spouse a visa. I was very excited till I found this website. I'm sure it all works on a case by case bases. But it's frustrating when you think it will only take 7 mo and see people have been waiting over that just for the USCIS to process the I-130.

You're looking at people that filed prior to the August switch over to the NBC center.

These newer petitions have so far been approved quite fast in approx 60-90 days for the I-130.

In my own opinion, I think a realistic time frame is 8-10 months w/o feeling like I'll get disappointed lol.

These newer petitions have so far been approved quite fast in approx 60-90 days for the I-130.

In my own opinion, I think a realistic time frame is 8-10 months w/o feeling like I'll get disappointed lol.

Okay I guess that makes me feel a little better but I don't think I will get my hopes up. There just seems to be sooooooo many things that could go wrong. And a Forever and a day wait that the Embassy in Turkey for a interview.

Hopefully will get NOA1 next week, is that too much to hope for?

Recv. NOA1 hard copy in the mail yesterday!!!! MSC soI know I was Transf. to NBC then to the NYC field Office... Have my fingers crossed to seeing NOA2 at the end of Jan. Or Feb.

Sent our application from Thailand to Phoenix lockbox via DHL on Dec 6. Got an email said "Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing." On Dec 12. So happy that our journey has begun. Waiting to check our case online in a week and will see if it works.
