LOOKING FOR A JOB

hi vjers,

i just wanna ask your opinions..i got my GC last november '09 meaning to say i'm not USC yet..the recession that we are experiencing right now i find it really hard to look for a job here in vegas, even though a lot of companies are hiring the compitition is really tough..i'm not being inpatient but my hubby really needs my help financially thats why i'm in a hurry to find a job..i have relatives in california and offers me to work "under the table" (caregiver) while processing my resume for a regular job..

my QUESTION is: is this gonna affect my papers since i am not yet a USC..?

i need to file for removal of conditions nxt year.is this gonna ruin my papers..?

answers is greatly appreciated..thanks in advance..

Have you tried going to the Culinary Union to find out if they have anything available until you can find something you may like? We moved to Vegas in 1991 when the economy was not that stable either and my parents were able to find work through them right away. That's pretty much what kept us alive until things got better.

You can work in the US legally since you already have your GC.

Wow - Mr. Obama was in Vegas recently, and the 'job outlook' since then, has picked up.

If you want to stay with your husband in Vegas - maybe you should keep looking for work in Vegas.

As long as you can show you have an otherwise legitimate marriage, it should not matter for the I 751. In this economic climate, a lot of couples are having to resort to separations to make ends meet.

I agree but as long as it is not "under the table" type of work. I'm sure lots of people do it but it will be an issue if you do get caught.

thanks guys..i know theres a lot of work here the thing is the compitition is difficult..i dont have a experience working here so its kinda hard for me to look for a job..

Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. There is not lots of work in Vegas, that is why we are at a 13% unemployment rate currently, and that does not count the people who are no longer collecting unemployment.

If you want to be safe, just report the money you make as misc income on your tax return. I do lots of side jobs (contracting) and I just report the money I make as misc income, and write off expenses related to it, and pay my share of taxes. You are not doing anything illegal working for cash (ie under the table), you are breaking the law when you don't report it as income and pay taxes on the money you make.

yeah thats ryt there are not lots of work here in vegas..

i am not gonna do the under the table job bcuz i dont like to report my income..my reason of doin that is bcuz im not really a caregiver..my aunt is jst gonna hook me up..since she is my last hope of earning money to help my family..and one of my main reason /question here that possible if im gonna work in california w/o any possibilities of failing my filling of I-751 nxt yr since me and my husband gonna be away w/ each other..

U got your greencard. So why are you worried? Yes you can work legally.. You are just repeating your questions and it seems you dont listen to any advices.
