I'm not sure why is it so complicated for Americans. Take any date, count back 180 days and if you are under 90 days in the Schengen, you are fine.

I read somewhere that the police certificate couldn't be over 6 months old, does anyone know if this is for the interview or for entering the US (like with the medical). I ordered one in February, but my embassy appointment isn't until the end of June. If I'm approved i will most likely move in September. Should i order a new one?

Did anyone here sell their house or apartment after you were approved and before you left for the US? I'm a ittle nervous about this, that it'll take forever or so. =/

And the taxes next year, not sure how to "deklarera" the sale and the renovation from abroad.

I sold my apartment before approval. But count about three to four months from the time you contact the realtor. Usually, whoever buys it will have three months notes wherever he lives so better count too long and then get happily surprised if it's done faster.

You do the taxes the same as you would from Sweden. Log in with your bank-ID and they'll have all the forms online. I think k3 is for calculating tax on sold property but it's gonna show once you log in to do your tax return.

I have sent another request to the Swedish medical record archives and hopefully I will get what I asked for this time. If not, I feel reassured that there's always the possibility to get my blood tested.

It's probably gonna be way easier and faster to just get a blood test. I did it at my local doctor's office weeks before my medical. Took 10 days to get the result and it cost a couple of hundred SEK.

Your police cert for country of residence must be valid for a minimum of three months after the interview.

That's what I have been thinking too! But my local vårdcentral and also a local clinic that specializes in vaccinations have never even heard of such tests. Or maybe I've simply been looking in the wrong places? It definitely sounds like the easy way if I knew who exactly can run such a test

Min "vårdcentral" did it. I just told them that I didn't have my vaccination records and that I needed a blood test to show that I had immunity against MMR.

We finally got our approval notice and I'm so excited! I just want to book my medical already, but still gotta wait for the case number... Things have been at a total standstill for three months and now I can't wait to actually get started with everything!!

I have a question and a kind soul directed me here... I have my interview at the embassy in Stockholm, Sweden on July 19th. My husband (USC) has been married before years ago. Will the embassy here in Sweden ask for his divorce papers? Is there anything else I should think about? I already have all required documents (or so I hope) and I´ve already done the medical. But I´m afraid that I will miss one vital document so that´s why I´m asking here if there is anything else. According to "The Immigrant Visa Process - Prepare for the Interview" online, I have all required documents (not my USC husbands divorce papers) but you can never be too sure...

No we tried at one point but had to get a notarized letter instead stating that he was divorced (with name and dates) but that we couldnt get the dokuments regarding that.

I don't know how it works since you two are already married, but for K-1s they ask for those papers sometimes. You should always bring the original (meaning a certified copy of the divorce decree, signed by a judge).
