I wish I could tell my landlord this for a month ...or two. Hey buddy, don't kick me out, the check's in the mail.

You know, some things you never think about in this process. For me, I didn't think about additional processing, even though I got off REAL easy (only 2 weeks in AP). But you never think that they will just hold on to an "Approved" petition a month later and tell you it's been mailed.....it makes no sense. How can anyone plan for these things?? Hope ya come out of this black hole soon! I agree with Scott, keep on the USCIS.....!!

Tried NVC again tonight .... nothing. Tomorrow I think it is a call AND a visit to the congressman's office. I had read that occasionally they will pull a random file for additional checks .... honestly, they being the government .... I can understand it ..... but do it BEFORE approval for crissakes !! To approve it and tell you it has been sent... AND then tell ya again it is "enroute " ...... I don't know, it just chaps my #### !!!!

we got pulled for an additional check at NVC and it took about a month.. they lose files, they send files out for extra checks.. delays can be found everywhere... they likely left your file sitting on a desk or in a box somewhere at USCIS and they just realized and sent it on to NVC...

Mark, I think that's a good sign! They usually don't lie to the congressionals. Lets cross our fingers that your congressman helped them "find it" on someone's desk !!

Well I got more bad news today - after waiting the entire five months for them to approve my November petition - I emailed then called the NVC to find out the status of my application and I now have a BKK # but it is in "administrative review". After I read about Administrative Review I called the NVC back to confirm that I'd been pulled for security screening and the lady basically confirmed it.

I am obviously very upset but I'm hoping someone here can clarify for me since my searches yielded conflicting results. At least one thread said that they could still possibly mail the petition to the embassy, my fiancée could get packet 3, finish her interview, and then she would have to wait for the security checks to clear? Does the fact that I have a BKK number from the NVC help?

Mike

Well, my fiance had his second interview and they sent our file back to NVC for administrative processing. Even after it already had gone through NVC the first time around. The whole time at the consulate they notified us we are in administrative review and the internal processing has not cleared. But the consulate did not have the case they had it sent back to NVC. NVC finished it and sent it back to the consulate and now we are just waiting for the visa to be issued. So, yes they do wait for the security checks to clear as that is what happened to us. This seems be normal procedure depending on if you case gets selected randomly. Usually, if they finish the administrative review at NVC I don't think you will have to worry about the waiting after the interviw.
