I was instructed to go through the usual line (the one I always followed when using any non-immigrant visa). I gave my envelope to an officer who seemed nice and only asked when/how I met my husband, but he told me he needed to call another officer who is in charge of immigrant admissions. This second officer seemed very distant and clearly did not have the same disposition as the first. After handling my documents, a third officer (a much more friendly one) came out of a little office and congratulated me, then went over my rights and duties as a LPR. Finally, he took my address and explained that the GC would arrive anytime from that day until 6 months past. They reconfirmed my anniversary date and proceeded to stamp my passport with the CR1 visa. |

Prior to arriving in the US we had a connectioning flight.
The CBP in Amsterdam asked me a lot of questions compared to in the States. They didn't really address my fiancé but I let him speak as well so they were aware he knew the answers as well. They wanted detailed information concerning our wedding plans which we had. They CBP officer was like do you planned everything referring to me. We did everything together so I just explained to her and I gave proof since I have emails etc,. So she cle tears us after that.
As far as the POE the line at the Atlanta Airport was long and moving very slow. We were there almost 2hrs but once we went to the CBP officer for the fingerprint and then to the other line for the brief interview to give the yellow envelope it was very quick. They just asked what was his purpose of being here and that we AOS asap after we marry.
The Lord was on our side through this process and will continue to be. |
