I was having a hard time finding a suitable co-sponsor since I lived in Poland with my wife. I could not sponsor her. So that lengthened my process by 2-3 months. I collected all the documents and sent them in only to receive a checklist 5 months later saying that we have 1 incorrect document. That was our marriage certificate. It was the shortened version given to us by the Polish authorities when we got married. We did not know they had different versions of the marriage certificate until we received our checklist for it. We obtained that, sent it in within a few days. Then we waited another month and a half or 2 months where I decided to call them asking if the supervisor could just review the document since it was only 1. Supervisor called me back May 11th and gave me case complete. I'm sure our process would have only lasted around 8 months if not for the delays in finding a suitable co sponsor and getting a checklist. Had the visa shipped to the TNT place in Warsaw since we were so close. Went in, talked to the 2 nice women at the reception, gave her ID and the courier registration paper, and they told us to wait. After about 15 minutes, a guy from the embassy popped out and made my wife sign a paper and we took the sealed invelope and the passport with the visa glued on the inside. | 2020-06-03 |
