St1 L & M France Texas No France 2008-01-25 2008-01-31 2008-06-25 2008-07-08 2000-08-02 152* I'm going to go through the process.. so I'll let people know about the time line.
Jan 25,2008:Went to file I130 at the Paris consulate. They took I-130 from my wife, G-325A+pictures for me and my wide, copy of my wife's US passport, copy of my French passport, my wife US birth certificate, and the official copy of our US marriage certificate. Paris officials were professional, pleasant and nice. We showed up at 8:30 AM, there were no lines, they called us up at 9 AM to review the petition and associated documents, we went to pay a fee, and met an official who asked a few questions and approved the petition. We left the consulate at about 10:15 AM.

Jan 31,2008: Packet 3 received.

From Jan until June, I had a little bit of a conflict to schedule the appointment. I had to reschedule it 2 times, and since it takes about 1 month to schedule the appointment, I finally had my appointment on June 25. This delay was really caused by my situation, not the Embassy.

June 25th, 2008: Appointment at 1 PM (always at 1 PM). I had an hard time to get into the embassy as I had a computer, and it is impossible to enter the Embassy with a computer. I found somebody outside to take care of it. Thus, I was a little late at the appointment, which just put me at the end of the queue. Took a ticket, met 1 clerk who checked everything, directed me to pay the fee, then met another clerk who checked every single paper I had brought. She constituted the file for the consular officer. Once done. Waited a little bit, and met at another window with the Consular Officer. The consular officer was the same as the one we had met in January. She checked the file, asked a few questions about where we were going to live... etc. She remembered us from the petition in January (which I found so surprising because of the amount of people she sees), and then told me I would receive everything by chronopost to bring with me. I had a little mix up in the chronopost enveloppe (it needs to be a 2 KG,and I had a 500g, so I had to send one afterwards) which delayed this by a couple day.

July 8th 2008: received the chronopost with the visa and a sealed enveloppe to bring to the port of entry.

So far the process has been very smooth. Took longer than expected because of me. People at the US Embassy are professional and diligent, while staying smooth and nice.

July 18th 2008: Enetered the US. It was a very smooth process as well. The opened up the enveloppe I had received, ounched a few things on their computer, and said "Welcome, congratulations". They took a picture, and fingerprints. Everything went very smoothly. I received the permanent "green card" about a month later.
