  1. Well, I'm coming from the other point of view in that one of the things I love about my husband is that he is so family oriented. I think that we can all agree that there is a major breakdown in alot of American familes. Yes, I think I could have found an American man with great family values--just like there are women--but there are alot of other societies that are more family based then America. I mean, the women here only get 6 weeks for maternity leave. In Nigeria they get one to two years. Just one example.

EXACTLY.......just enough time for the "goods" to heal up and throw yo kid in daycare and get out there and MAKE THAT MONEY!!! now whta does that do to society??? what the heck is 6 weeks maternity going to do??? NOTHING.......you just brought a life into this world...and you get 6 weeks....CMON.......I think the culture here prioritzes MONEY first ...then family last.......and alot of women AND MEN are buying into it...as a result...families are dying.

So why aren't you moving to your fiancee's country since it's so bleeding horrible here?

We plan on it as soon as my husband gets his citizenship! And I never said it was so bleeding horrible over here. There are great families here and I think there needs to be some active campigning to make the workplace more family friendly.

No, I don't think we can agree with that at all

We can agree to disagree!

  4. It is 12:03am...Joel just called from Montréal. Flight was delayed over an hour and a half...but he's in MTL safe and sound. Now...if I can sleep....

I couldn't sleep at all when my then fiance was having his interview. But I finally dozed off and then he called at 2 in the morning. He had passed! I know you're going to get the same great news! (F)

  5. I talk to them maybe once a month. My sis-in-law- told me she wants me to call her on my own and more often--but although I don't mind talking to them--its still very weird and akward at times and would rather talk to them when hubby talks to them--once a month is fine by me! They're really great people--I just don't enjoy talking on the phone. B)

  6. Well since starting this thread, hubby has set up Skype Out on our computer. If you have broadband and like good quality calls--this is the way to go!. Its half the ptice of the phone card we were using before. The quality is the best! and there have been no dropped calls and no annoying numbers to dial over and over again. For the first time I could really understand very clearly everything his family and friends were saying to me! I definitely recommend it if you have broadband and like to have a decent conversation.

  7. Yeah its been pretty quiet since the everyone has there own opinion and everybody is ugly thread! (that was a great post you made in there). No updates here. Our AOS is in some black hole. Just working and having fun on our days off.

I was guessing that the thread got axed. I hope it did not cause permanent damage.

I can't believe it is taking so long for your AOS. Everything is always, "hurry up and wait".

Its ok. Our whole visa process took 3/12 months (from the fist NOA to issuance of visa at interview) so having a wait now is probably due us for having such an easy process. My husband seems not care that its taking forever--so I'm just trying to be patient. but I want to hurry up with the citizenship because I'm dreaming of a vacation to Europe and its much easier to travel on a U.S. passport. But we can't start counting until we get the greencard!

    How's your baby?
