  1. I come from a long line of workaholics. My own grandpa refused to stop working long enough to be there for the birth of his first son--and he was working at the same hospital. My dad now wishes he didn't wait 20 years to actually take a vacation. Me. I broke the habit in collge. One day, I said I will not stay up past 12 to study or do homework. Been pretty happy ever since.

  2. Yes, Its been awhile since we had this kind of thread. I met my husband in South Africa. We were both part of University of the Nations/ Youth With a Misison. I was tkaing a Community Deveopment School in my outreach phase, while he was taking the Discipleship Training School. We really didn't like each other at first. But after one 3 hour converstation, we became inseperable. Until, of course, we had to be seperated. Nine months later, he came to the State, 2 months after that we were married. and almost 8 months later here we are. He is the best man and I am blessed to have him in my life. Thanks God first impressions aren't the lasting ones!

  3. I think its ok to have a good debate about things.

but, there has to be a line drawn when it comes to sexual in nature content. there are people on here that are under the age of 18 let me point that out. there are k-2 people on here. keep that in mind when posting.

I can't find it. But somewhere, some time ago, I remember you saying that you were going to train your husband to be a 'freak on a leash'. You and Sharon wee in a conversation about doing it doggie style. I'm 99% sure that was you. But I'll leave som error for doubt. I remember it beacuse of the phrase 'freak on a leash.'

sorry, I am bored and have lots of time on my hands

  6. Congratulations!!!

Gosh, im really starting to get a little jealous, everyone here is buying a house!

ps** way cheaper than rent! you lucked out!!!

    I know how you feel!

Me too! I'm starting to go crazy in our glorified studio/1 bedroom apartment with no kithcen! Must move out of Hawaii so it doesn't take 4 hours to cook dinner with a hot plate and toaster oven. *sigh*, but my contract doesn't finish until October. We lover the neighborhodd, the view, and the price--and any other 1 bedrooms would cost us about $1200 and be in a crappy neighborhood. There's a price to pay to live in paradise. But someady, we will own a house too!

  9. My husband had his K1 interview in South Africa. He's from Nigeria. His interview was very smooth and they treated him very fairly. However, there was a Nigerian going through Nepal and that did not go very well. I think the main thing is how is the embassy in general. (tough vs. easy). Best wishes to for your interview! And a happy reunion to come.

  10. Its been over 6 months and our case is still in Missouri. I can understand that Honolulu's processing time says Feb 2005. But other people I know have all gone through Honolulu in 4-6 months. We spoke to the immigration officer today whosaid that the only thing on the computer is that "Missouri has requested our file." DOn't know what that means since that's where we sent it. Maybe were in a bn=lack hole. Maybenot. Guess I can't do too much until the time passses on Honolulu's processing time. Any suggestions?

  11. K-1s do not need another medical exam as long as the AOS application is filed within a year of the overseas medical.

    Yep, that's correct.

Onwa, did you submit a vaccination supplement with your husband's AOS application? If not, you will need to organise one through a civil surgeon.

Good luck at your Infopass appointment, I hope you get your situation sorted out. :)

Well, I'm glad we won't have to do another medical. We didn't submit the vacc supplement because he did do them all--they are in the sealed envelope so I figured 1) they have it and will let us go or 2) we will get an RFE

But I wanted to send it in so he could his EAD--which we received in November. I won't mind an RFE--as long as I know our file isn't lost or they sent us communication we never got. The online status for EAD still says they are processing it--even though we received the card so long ago--so I don't trust what the site says!

    Thanks for the replies. Kia

  12. well we had a k1. My husband is from Nigeria but was in South Africa at the time. We bought a ticket that went through AMsterdam but didn't get a transit visa--beacause all the other K1's from Nigeria didn't need a transit visa through Amsterdam. However, they refused to let my then fiance to board the plane and we lost out the whole ticket and ended up buying a direct flight to the States. So my advice, get a transit visa or pay extra for a direct flight if that is possible.
