Awesome!  Well my prediction of two of us here getting notices this week I would say is a kind of hit.  We did hear of 2 people getting their notices from 3rd sources.  And this is definitely not an expedite as its well into 90 days territory.  Great news indeed!  Unfortunately the lotto of how this works is just how it rolls.  Accepting this fact will set you free, because the truth will set you free..hehe.

The uncertainty part can definitely be difficult.  Especially if you are someone who likes to plan everything out and see things marked on a calendar.  Maybe I'm weird but I thrive on this kind of thing.  Before getting into this, my fiancee and I had a long talk and decided to have fun with this.  And I believe it has taken a huge amount of stress off of the whole process.  We talked about:

    1.  K-1 Visa is not really conducive to a traditional big wedding with fixed dates and planning. (We didn't want a traditional big wedding anyways.)
    2.  Decided that the dates and who attends doesn't matter.  As a goodwill gesture we will throw parties after the fact.  The parties will be more fun anyways because no one will be worried about wedding "etiquette."
    3.  Chose a location that is flexible on dates, price and wedding size and in a location where some family could attend on short notice if they choose.  In our case Vegas is the perfect choice.  As a bonus it's super easy to get marriage license in Clark County.

In short we agreed that the wedding day will be our day and take place under our terms.  Not the other way around which usually ends up happening.  (Especially with relatives that can't help but insert themselves into every little detail.)  Family and friends have also been made aware of our plans.   A 2-3 week notice will be communicated once we finally cross that bridge.  Since everything has been explained plainly to relatives no push back from them has been received so far.

Understandably everyone will have different wants and expectations for their big day.  So our way of going about things, as practical as they may be, isn't for everyone.  But I just wanted to share with you all.  Best wishes and hope you all get your approvals soon!

This seems to be your best option according to what you have told us.  IMO after everything is legal and done properly, perception is what is most important.  You'll still have the wedding that you always dreamed of and no one will ever know the difference.  You can have your cake and eat it too!

I didn't mean to invalidate anyone's feelings of frustration.  Rather I was trying to make the point that it's going well considering.

I'm surprised because we all knew at the beginning what we signed up for.  And all the anger, frustration crying and negativity isn't going to make our petitions move any faster.  Normal processing time from NOA-1 to visa approval is 6-8 months, well within the norm so far.  Plus we still have 2 weeks of July left.  Here is a post I found from the March filers forum:

We see all these signs of good news and the level of negativity just doesn't match up with what is going on out there.  Again I understand the frustration but an extra month of waiting in the grand scheme of things is a very small drop in the bucket.  We will make it through and be with all our loved ones for the Holidays.  Best Wishes!

I wouldn't say this is gospel because of the "random" nature of how things work at USCIS.  We are just one week past the July 4th holiday and it takes a couple of weeks for everyone to get back up to speed. My motto is to take everything with a grain of salt.  I still am of the belief that April news will start rolling in here soon.  In fact let me take that back, it already has, news of RFE's for April   This is great news actually.  And here is my bold prediction for the week.  By next Saturday at least 2 of us on this board will here news of our petitions.  Happy mailbox hunting!

I really don't think this has anything to do with Trump.  I think its simply due to the sharp increase in applications sent in because of what people fear and perceive of Trump.  In addition this isn't the first time a backlog like this has occurred.  Life just happens, and USCIS is doing the best they can.  Also people seem to forget that Trump isn't against legal immigration, most specifically for spouses, his wife is an immigrant herself.  I've said this before and it isn't said to be mean, but everyone has realized their own fears.   Having said that however I get the frustration.  It seems to be taking longer for some people to get their NOA-2.  On the other hand (switching to glass half full) not everyone is going to their notices in a timely manner.  And those that haven't are (understandably so) going to be the most vocal.  In short I believe it isn't as bad a situation as people are painting it out to be.  And I fully expect to see notices for April to start getting received here shortly.

30 extra days isn't that bad considering.  Yes I get it, it's no fun waiting.  But If you were to say the majority of December and January were still waiting, then I would be worried.  Again I think it bears repeating, it's not as bad as people are painting it out to be.  Let's stay positive!  The wait is almost over.
