Robert de Bonda got a reaction from Angelmartinez838 in How long does this process usually take?
As far as I know, and I can only speak from my experience, an InfoPass appointment is the way to speak to a USCIS employee. They do not have walk-in appointments, so you would have to schedule an InfoPass appointment. I went to discuss replacing a Naturalization Certificate. I made the appointment on-line and they had a slot available in an hour and a half and I took it.
I do not know if this will be helpful to you, but look online on www.uscis.gov and read up on InfoPass appointments.
Good Luck!!!!

Robert de Bonda reacted to JimVaPhuong in DENIED AOS
If they denied because of the affidavit of support then you've missed something. Maybe the evidence of income wasn't sufficient. I have no idea without actually knowing precisely what you sent, the exact wording on the RFE's, and what you sent in response. It's also possible you may not be interpreting the evidence the same way USCIS is interpreting it. For example, a self-employed person with gross revenues of $42,000 per year would likely NOT have an annual income of $42,000, since their income is determined after their business expenses are deducted. Is your joint sponsor self-employed? If so, where did you get the income figure of $42,000? Did it come from line 22 on their IRS form 1040?
It's $110 to file an EOIR-29, which is an appeal of a denied visa petition with the Board of Immigration Appeals. An adjustment of status application is not a visa petition - you cannot appeal a denied adjustment of status. A motion to reopen requires form I-290B, and the filing fee is $630.
If the medical is expired then you'd need to have another medical. The medical expires after either six months or one year, depending on the country where the medical was originally done.
Seriously, consider hiring an immigration lawyer to help you finish this. Do-it-yourself immigration is not for everyone. Getting an RFE means you missed something. Getting two RFE's means you missed quite a bit. Being denied after getting two RFE's means you don't know what you're doing, and you need some help.

Robert de Bonda reacted to Ontarkie in Hell after NOA2
I don't know if it's the fact that I'm pregnant and have raging hormones or what but you seem to be a jerk to me. You tell her you want to hold off on the visa cause she didn't say Happy Valentines day to you. She sent you a gift it was the florist fault you did not receive it. To me that's a threat, telling her you do as I want or else I will hold this visa over your head. That is probably how her parent's see it also, the threats are already starting in their eyes and like any parent they want to protect their daughter.
Then you find out she is in the hospital, and you question her father how can some little argument do that to her, but then you end up in the hospital over all this and get mad at her cause she is not jumping at your side calling none stop etc. Seems to me you are just as immature as she is.
Moving and leaving everything you know and love is not easy for anyone, no matter the age. Some ppl do have very close family and family is a big part of their lives, some ppl can not handle it other's manage to make it through but it is not done over night.
Again this is how I see it from your post.

It is not safe for ALL people regardless of race, creed or color. I am sure you have read about the crisis there and you should excercise great caution whenever you travel abroad. Check the travel advisory for Cuidad Juarez at the Official Embassy website. Good luck to youand your family!

Robert de Bonda reacted to Nikolaib in Called about my case today
Not much of a point though seeing as how we're not talking theories and politics, people are really dying, and people really need help. I don't see the wrongness of us giving help to people. US citizens aren't worth more as people than non-US citizens. Whether or not other countries are "not bothering" is unrelated in my opinion.
Do I hate waiting? Seeing as I'm over 5 1/2 months right now, hell yeah I hate it. But I'm also proud of my country for caring for Haitian people as well. I think the real solution is having more funding for the service centers to hire more adjudicators. The federal government already wastes billions of dollars on useless grants and studies, why can't they actually put some tax money to good use. That way, we can all get processed in a reasonable amount of time without having things like TPS visas getting in the way.

Robert de Bonda reacted to PurpleSky in What's Vermont's excuse now for not approving NOA2s?
I don't expect popularity points here but we ALL made a choice and that choice was to engage in this process. As adults we have been exposed to "the system" more than once so this whole thing should not be a surprise. It's the way of this country we live in. Accept it or be miserable for the rest of your life.
What good is it to CONSTANTLY complain about how VSC is ruining your lives? It's healthy to vent every now and then but when it becomes the ONLY thing you do, bitterness begins to sour you. You are no longer the person your fiancé(e) fell in love with once that happens. Why give someone or something that kind of power over you? It is a choice YOU make. Shoot, for every other choice that's taken away from me in this process, I'd much rather grab hold of what I can control myself.
No I am not the least bit happy that I have been waiting over 5 months but in the grand scheme of things this is but a minuscule amount of time. For THAT I rejoice.

Robert de Bonda reacted to BringMyBabyHome in What's Vermont's excuse now for not approving NOA2s?
I am all for hiring more people at USCIS, better work management and an easier process. I am not for turning a blind eye just so I can get what I want, when I want it.
If the Haitian TPS applications are truly the issue and I must wait to get a decision on my petition because they have prioritized TPS applications, then I am glad to it. I would rather wait a few extra months than to have some poor person get sent back to face disease, crime and possible death in Haiti.
For the people who complain about Haitians and TPS delaying their NOA2, do you even care at what expense it will take.
I love my fiance but I don't want to see someone else suffer because I want to hold hands and play googly eyes with him. I am just not that obsessed with him. God first, Fiance second in my life and I don't think God wants us to be this selfish.
Your foreign fiances will understand, because the kindness shown to the Haitians is something that they would want for their friends and family. You will soon be able to get married and start your family's a month or 2 won't make a difference in the great scheme of things. It might make a difference in life of a Haitian though. [/font]

And just because Igor's list hasn't been updated doesn't mean K1s aren't being approved. VJ represents a small sample size of the amount of petitions they receive and process.

Robert de Bonda got a reaction from Kathryn41 in Can't find certificate of citizenship
I submitted my petition in July. Like you, I have no idea where my Naturalization Certificate is. I submitted copies of all pages of my unexpired passport as instructed and we were approved in November.
One thing that I did, though, was to make an InfoPass appointment and ask for the information to request a replacement certificate. They gave me the Certificate Number as well as my old A#. I submitted both with my petition. It's probably overkill, but them having the information I believe enabled them to put my existing file with the new petition and they only needed to update it as opposed to doing whatever it is that they do for background check from scratch.

Robert de Bonda reacted to luckytxn in HELP! He suddenly has the worst pre-wedding cold feet and we're falling apart!!!
I had been divorced for 15 years before I met my now wife. In that time I had been engaged 4 times and each time I got cold feet and took off. This time I had also gotten cold feet and tried to get out but for some reason my then fiancee just ignored me and kept making plans. I even started to say NO more loudly but she again just ignored me and went on. When it got close I finally told her my many misgivings and she asked if I loved her. I told her yes then she said then there is no problems. I of course being a lot older than her just chalked this up to her being naive. Her and I had a big chat and I extracted a promise from her that if after we got married and such and then either of us found out we were incompatible that she had to grant me a divorce and we move on and that I would make sure she stayed and become permanent.
After she arrived we both got married in a civil union and recently have gotten married in a church wedding as she is Catholic. We have been together now over a year and a half and we are both very happy. I still have misgivings as I can't understand why this major babe is so in love with me and I am so happy.
Many men get cold feet and woman are supposed to be strong and go on with it. If every time a someone has gotten cold feet and the other stopped it then we would have very few weddings. From what you have posted this is all it is and nothing more and less. Now go and get over here and show the moron how much of a one he was and get on with life. You two will be happy and live happily ever after.

I mailed everything off yesterday to Vermont...and the waiting game begins. Funny thing is, rather than being excited, I was rather down today. Perhaps it is the roller-coaster effect.
