We used a lawyer for the K1 because I wasn't aware of this website, it was a HUGE waste of money. As you pointed out you still had to supply them all the information, all they had to do was take our info and put it ON the forms. When we did the CR1 we didnt use a lawyer. We did all the paperwork ourselves and didnt have any issues with it at all. I would say to a person unless they have a seriously complicated case such as an overstay or legal issues that would be a reason for denial to not waste their money on paying a lawyer.

You can't enter the U.S. with the intention of getting married and staying if you are coming on a visitor visa. Since you've now said that's your plan we will advise that if you DO get married you will need to leave, go home, and file the for a CR-1.

My husband traveled while we were waiting. He always made sure he went through Dublin for POE just in case he was denied...only an hour flight to return...but he never had any problems. The AVR NEVER updated right away with any of the steps on our case. It always updated overnight. So I wouldnt say that it updates automatically the instant it's done. That's not true.

I think I would be completely done with this entire situation. The man has tried taking her and her daughter to do things. She refuses to go. I find it incredibly disrespectful that they would sit in a car for an hour and half and she would only speak to her daughter in Russian. I'm a woman and when my now husband and I saw each other it was fireworks each and everytime and continues to be. How can you folks think that he should take sex or intimacy out of the equation? As someone pointed out she's not a virgin and these 2 are planning on being married sex IS a part of married life. Even if you take actual sex out of the picture the woman refuses to sleep in the same bed with him. There is a problem with that. I agree with the person who stated that a woman has to be in sync on emotional level for sex and fine she's adjusting but at the end of the day if this gal was 100% into the fella she would be more than happy to sleep in the same bed with him as they haven't been able to for months even if it's only to cuddle. My opinion if it's like this after 8 days when you should both still be thrilled to death to even be together time is NOT on your side. Cut your losses before anymore damage is done.

Once you have the receipt you can make an info pass appointment and they will determine if they are able to issue advance parole as an emergency. If you have kept track on this website enough you should know that there is no rhyme or reason to why some people get approved before the other. You would also have seen that someone was JUST approved yesterday who received their NOA1 a year ago. This process is taxing but you better get used to it because you aren't even half way through it yet. Stop obsessing over something can't do anything about....at least not until at least 30 days past your 5 month mark and even then your actions don't guarantee anything is going to move any faster!

My dear friend don't blindly assume that everyone is on VJ. Be realistic...you stating that EVERY person who's applied for a CR1 visa knows about Visa Journey is rediculous. Everyday someone posts about having just found this site. The reality of it is you are probably going to wait 5 months. No sense in getting your knickers in a twist over something that is outside your control. You can't control USCIS, you can't control other memebers reporting their information in a timely manner, you can only control yourself. There's nothing fishing about them processing K1's instead of CR1's...they go in cycles. Next month the K1 people could be saying it's not fair they are processing so many CR1's! You wouldn't be complaining then I'm sure.

When we were engaged going through K1 and now that we are married my husband always goes through Dublin. He stays with his parents right now as we are in this crazy period. He's never been asked for anything other than to show a return ticket. He's never had travel insurance, never been asked to show how much money he has, never been asked for an extra information at all. He even has the old K1 in his passport and even that only got a "don't stay" talk. that was it. Obviously there's always the possiblility of denial but they aren't there to make life miserable. I wouldn't get too worked up over it.

Everytime someone voices a concern it always comes back to being patient...that was never the reason behind my comments..not my paitence or the others waiting on here.
