Hey everyone. I recieved my welcome to America Letter on thursday afternoon and I recieved my green card in the mail on friday
I'm so excited, I am finally legal and I'll be able to maybe start living a normal life once again. I also ended up recieving my very late social security # ... but I'll have to take it in to get the conditions removed from it. All is well on this end of the world though
We got ourselves a happy canadian this weekend!

QUOTE(NickandNatasha @ Jun 29 2006, 03:47 PM)
i never have understood why some women are so bitchy about another womans looks.its a side of some womens nature that is both unattractive and difficult to understand for a man.its rare to see a group of men sat online or out somewhere rippin some other guy to bits with bitchy comments because of the way he looks.
as a relative newbie to vj and reading this thread. It seems there are many women (& possibly men!)subscribing to this site who are insecure with themselves possibly be the explaination for the bitchy cattiness over a picture of a pregnant woman. the picture cannot respond to the critisism. chance is taken to have a free pot shot and slam dunk at a photograph. how pathetic do you think that looks?there is nothing more attractive to me than a confident self assured woman who feels no need to tear someone else up.
You said this better than I ever could....
I agree with both of you as well.... threads like these are kinda silly are they not?
oops the second quote blended in with the first, just for the sake of credit, LisaD said the last line about agreeing with the above paragraph.

maybe, who knows. so much for loving your neighbor lol

I just don't understand how she keeps herself standing up and not toppeling over? Those things gotta almost outweigh her. But it's true, it's people like that that use such things for some power but the only way she get's power with such things is if we give it too her by giving her much NOT needed attention. *Shrug* I wouldn't want to look like that, but then again i wouldn't want to look like alot of things. Too me it just looks fake, i'm not into fake, whatever happened to the wonderful gift God all gave us himselfs. He must be so hurt when we are wanting to continually mess up what he created. What do I know ...

hmmm what did they do to bring that on? just because they were christians and not bothering anyone they deserved an attack? *Shrug* what do I know lol ...

I love that store. I never had one back at home, it was always la senza but I find vs's bras are much more durable and last longer though your paying a little more. I will never by a bra from wal-mart or anything like that again, I have before, never again. You end up spending more in the long run because you have to continually replace them in short amounts of time. My hubby doesn't seem to like the price on these VS bras but I just have to continually tell him that if he cherishes my womenly assets then he better be willing to dish out a little cash to know that they are being taken care of by the best.

Hi everyone. I should be recieving my 2 year conditional green card in the mail within a week or two. I just recieved notice today that I would be recieving my ssn within 2 weeks but it will have conditions on it. Once I recieve my green card, will this allow me to go remove the conditions off my social security card????
Just Curious ...

I agree. You'd be amazed. Canadians aren't exempt from this type of ignorance either. My husband received a number of 'comments' from both friends and family about why didn't he just marry an american, and what did he really know about me because I was a 'foreigner' - all this, of course, before anyone had even met me. Interestingly, I also experienced the other side of it from some of my acquaintances wanting to know why I was marrying an American! My true friends just said congratulations, and waited until they met Joe before they made up their minds about whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.
I agree, I experienced this as well. My husband still gets asked stupid questions too like does she speak english or only canadian??? What?? I couldn't believe the ignorance of some people. Kinda sad because he said he gets that alot, especially at work :-p ..... On the most part I have had full support of everyone who loves me (friends and family) but I have had to deal with the rash comments from a few people. Lots of people thought I was crazy, that I was too young and didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into. Well too late now, I got myself into it haha.

I'm going to come at this from a different angle... (as usual with me...)
I too have been frustrated at the lack of public transit, hubby swears we have it but I have yet to see it, the fact that we have to drive everywhere, that I sound different from everyone, that I can't find things I 'normally' cook with
Man, I hear you on that!!! I lived in saskatchewan, with cities but not cities like here and I still had better transportation service than I do here. I can count how many times I've seen a bus here on one hand since i've been here and it's been over a year. LOL and I'm learning what I can find here from home and what I can't ....
-
It's sad how things work out like that. But I agree, you can find the same people within your own culture who would do the very same thing. Those kind come from all parts of the world ...

This is so key and so me. I now realize that his quirks are a personal affront to me. Is that pile of clothes there to spite me, you beast!!??? I need to chill.....and kick them under the bed!
I agree with this... I am the exact same way. I thought he was continually doing it to make me upset, now I realize maybe thats not the case at all lol. I'm going to try this and see how it works tee hee.

Hey everyone, I had my AOS interview in Memphis, TN yesterday afternoon and it all went very well.
My appointment wasn't until 1:30 pm but we ended up arriving at about 11:30 am. The officers coming in were really friendly as they scanned our stuff making small talk. My belt ended up setting off the detection beeper (Silly me wore a studded metal belt under my shirt
) We were pointed to a room in to which to wait and so we slipped in our appt. notice in the slot and waited. The room didn't look busy, a few people waiting here and there no more than 8 people in total. We ended up getting called in Early!!
The officer noted as we were walking down the hall that we were early, that he had just finished his lunch but not to worry all was fine. He swore us in and allowed us to take our seats. He had a huge file on me and asked just a few questions while talking with us. He took out my I-94 and started laughing and he said that he really didn't know what would happen to those who didn't get married within the 90 day limit. He asked a few questions like how we met. He laughed when I told him what year, he said man you were just a young thing and still are! .... He asked for our 2005 tax returns, my hubbies employment letter, a few pieces of evidence so i gave him our health insurance form, car insurance, church letter and he said that all that was fine he didn't need to see more. He talked to my hubby a bit about switching from your own business to working for someone else and then he quickly went into explaining how to remove conditions. I chirped in and said so does this mean that you approve of me and he said yes! I asked if my FBI name check was done and he said yes that only muslim names or unfamiliar names get more scrutinized. He then stated that I should have my card within a week or two!!!! That was it, he showed us out and wished us luck! Way easier than i thought I went totally overprepared but I guess it is better to be safe than sorry
Time for me to celebrate!! hehe
I want to thank all of you on VJ for helping me get this far, without all of you I don't know if I would have made it!! Thank you all

Well I guess as far as copies are concerned I have copies of the substantial stuff that I would need to keep the origionals such as marriage certificate and such. As for my evidence such as car insurance and health insurance and so on is easy to re-obtain so I'm just gonna give them what I have if they ask for it.
Wish me luck all, we head out to memphis tonight!!

My aos interview is on Friday. My hubby and I went out this morning to make copies of what we thought would be legit paperwork such as all our tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, all my mail from the USCIS and birth certificate and such. As for all my evidence that we are a couple, such as a copy of our lease from the landlord and all our origional stuff such as mail with same address old bills with same address, car insurance and such, we didn't make copies of just because it's stuff that we can get back if we need too. So if they ask for a copy I can just hand out the origional. Should this be ok or should i also make copies of these things as well? would it hurt me in the future if i didn't??

I just have a quick question about the directions to the memphis office for my aos interview. I heard somewhere on here that the directions to memphis aren't right that they are exactly opposite to what they give you. The question is are the directions oppositte of the address that they sent on my form or on what map quest might tell me? I was going to type in the address in mapquest and forgot I heard about something like this so I wasn't sure .... I just want to know if the mapquest directions are going to be right or are they the ones that are opposite than what they give you? If anyone knows it would be great help
We leaving tomorrow night for memphis so I just want to make sure.
