  1. Hi everyone. I am just wondering if someone could help me out. I know that it is usually the local office that takes care of your AOS interviews and stuff but I am not sure what my local office is. I am in knoxville, tn and i am assuming it would be Memphis but both my NOA's say MSC (which is in missouri). So should I be following the missouri guideline for AOS or the Memphis. I am just confused. It happened with my Bio Metric too, I was told over and over again it would be booked in Nashville (thats what they told congress) but I ended up being sent to charlotte, nc. So I just want to have an idea where I am following and if it is in missiouri then which office do i focus on??? someone please help

  2. Good Afternoon Everyone. So here is the deal, I go for my Bio Metric Exam Saturday morning at 9am. It takes place in charlotte, NC so my mother in law and I are heading up that way tomorrowing morning and spending the evening (i am in tennessee right now). I just wanted to know if there is anything I should be worried about and if my passport with my k-1 visa in it, my noa1, and noa2 for AOS and EAD, and my marriage certificate are good enough for the things they need?

  3. Hi you all. I finally recieved my bio metric exam letter this past friday. I just want to thank all those who were generous enough to help me out with my questions and all the information they provided in the past. It is a little overdue since I mailed everything back in August of 2005 but it has now finally arrived. My appt. is set on April 1 9am in Charlotte, North Carolina (weird because congress told me it would be held in Nashville and the 1st is a saturday and it is april fools so I am hoping this ain't some stupid april fools joke, but it is a legit gov't document) Is there anything I really need to prepare for, anyone with experience and I don't need to pay for anything do i?? And is there stuff maybe i should take jsut in case?? I was thinknig of taking my marriage certifcate because my new last name doesn't match my dr. lic # yet and such. Praise God for his answers to my prayers and for all of you and all your help.

  4. I guess I could try that. Thanks Shari. This whole thing is just really frustrating. The local office here is Memphis which is why I am confused about the Nashville thing but the lady told me that is where I need to go. *Shrug* I tryed argueing on a friendly level with her but she told me I had no other choice but to wait. We will see

  5. Oh someone help me please. I am stuck in a EAD nightmare. I was married back in August of 2005 and we filed my AOS/EAD after we got back from our honeymoon. My NOA1 says that they had recieved it on August 23, 2005. I am in Knoxville, TN and it is coming through to the middle of Feb. 2006 and I have yet not heard anything. My husband and I contacted the Congress here in the city back in mid January and they found out that my EAD had been approved in October but I have yet to get a bio-metric exam booked. I thought that it would be in Memphis but I guess they are sending me to Nashville. Why, I am not sure. All my information is in Missouri though not Memphis so that bewildered us as well. Well We called the congress again about a few weeks ago and found out that again they are awaiting opening dates in Nashville for us and that this is the Second time we have contacted them and that all I can do is wait. I am in the system but they told me that there was not much else I could do but to wait for the appt. letter. I asked about an Infopass appt. and they told me it would not help. I don't know what to do. The expire date is this october because it started last october so it's only going to be good for a few months if at all by the time i get it and get my soc. sec # with it. The congress told me they couldn't push it and at least i would get a ss # out of it but i can get a soc. sec. # out of my AOS once thats over if thats the case. I am just really upset that I've had to wait and that they've kind of yanked our chain around a lot on this and I don't know what else to do. We are going to try and get ahold of our Senator but if anyone has any input I'd really appreciate it. Thanks so much, everyone is so helpful here.

  6. My husband works 3rd shift so it's hard to really plan plan but we decided he could have the morning if I could plan the evening when he gets home later. We are not doing anything big because we are trying to save a lot of money. At least I'm not, I have no idea what he has planned. I had a Victoria Secret Gift Card that he gave me back in sept. for my bday that I hadn't used yet so i got something cute with that. I am going to attempt to clean up around here and maybe try and make chocolate covered strawberries. Also I forgot I purchased sparkeling grape stuff back at christmas and i found it today so BONUS!! Also we got new wood carved candle sconces for our bedroom as a christmas gift that we haven't put up yet so maybe I can get those hung and all lit up and set a mood or something. Hehe, we will see.

  7. I do pilates as well. I have the Winsor pilates dvd. I try to do it at least 3 times a week. You really do see results within a few weeks and you feel stronger, your posture is better. I like because it's easy on your joints.

  8. Hey Y'all. Just curious if anyone has had to go to Nashville for their bio metric. I got ahold of one of the congress women here in knoxville and she found out my EAD was approved back in october but heard nothing yet because I have to go to nashville and they are "waiting" for an appt. to open. Supposedly nashville is busy and so i don't know. I again phoned the other day and have heard nothing back yet. Almost 6 months is gone on my EAD and i haven't even gotten it yet. How is this fair especially when I dished out that kind of money. If anyone knows how to help please do.

  9. Hey y'all. I am just curious if anyone in the Tennessee area has had to go to Nashville for their bio-metric exam?? I have found out from the congresswomen here in Knoxville that my EAD/AOS is in missouri and that my EAD was actually approved back in October but the reason I haven't heard anything is because they are waiting for an appt. opening in Nashville for my EAD/AOS and that they have been really booked up. Is it just me or has this been taking way to long to get processed? I don't know what else to do. I phone the congress back the other day and they said they would see what they could do and would contact me asap. It has already been a week almost. Its not the same women i talked to the first time. The first women got back to me within a few hours. I am frustrated not able to get out and go about and help support my household. If anyone knows anything about Nashville or something, please let me know. Thanks so much.

  10. Wow, it looks beautiful. This is my first Valentines with my husband as well. Its hard to think of what to do, he works second shift so he don't get home till late. I am still think of doing something though, we will see.

  11. Sounds fun Fuzzness..... I don't know yet. My husband tends to not like V-day (says its Hallmark propoganda) *rolls eyes* I am still trying to train him. I think I might have to take some of the day into my own hands.

  12. My best friends brothers son has a unique name. They named him Oakley, it's different. I worked with a girl back home named Winter. I think the names Summer and Autum are neat too. Sky is pretty for a girl. I have a little boy who lives a few doors down named Blade. I personally like the name Trey for a boy. Payton is also a pretty name for a girl.

  13. Wow, everyone does have great advice. All I would add is just continually keep communication open. Don't be afraid to talk about issues, this is your life partner and you should be able to share everything and anything with eachother if need be. My husband and I try to take at least 15 to 20 minutes a night and just listen to eachother on how our days were. No tv on and no answering the phone during this time. We also pray together before we go to sleep. At first it was weird for me because we never did it before and it was just weird to hear it out loud but i do believe there is power in words and being able to verbally hear them and God has truly blessed us for it and we are much more closer because of it. We just let God be the center of our relationship or at least try too. People to change but grow together as you change, not apart. The little stuff is what always adds up in the end, little notes here, a phone call here, etc. It won't always be perfect but marriage is a work in progress. Good luck

  14. Hey everyone. I am the one that started this thread. I by no means meant to start a huge debate on religion in itself. Personally I don't believe christianity is really a religion anyways, it is a relationship. I was just curious how many of us VJers were christians and thought maybe we could start a thread and just hear about how God has really changed their lives and share with one another. Not in a negative way but just be supporters of one another. That is all :o) No hard feelings.

I want to thank everyone for replying though, i haven't been able to get back and looks like there was a huge response! I just wanted to know who my fellow brothers and sisters in christ were on here and just maybe share how God has gotten us all through this experience and make this thread into an uplifting postive thing.

  15. Hi Everyone. I was just curious how many people were a part of visa journey on a regular basis and are christians?? I know there was a thread awhile back on this topic but I can't seem to find it so I thought I would ask again. Personally without God and VisaJourney I don't know where I would be in this whole process. God is the only one who keeps me sane as I sit and wait on the government and I think he provided Visa Journey to us all to make such a complicated process a lot easier on us all. So lets Praise him for that blessing. :D

  16. Hi everyone, I have a quick question about traveling. My best friend is getting married back at home (Canada) in May and I would really like to make it if at all possible. The travel form or permission I have to apply for before I can leave, is it true that It has to be on emergency basis only???? I came over to the US on a k-1 and was married in August and I am still waiting on my EAD and AOS. Will that hinder anything??

    Thanks so much

    CanGal :help:

PS- I have read through the form and if I am reading it wrong someone please tell me but it seems like I have to have a serious situation such as death in the family or something along that line to be able to apply. I could be way off, so let me know if I'm reading it wrong.
