I saw this episode as well! It was kind of disturbing, very strange. I guess it made sense that it could happen because it did happen. I just thought it was a little freaky...

I too was quite taken back by Dilanas comments. I really Like Ryan...he has really come around the last few weeks. Lucas was good for a while but he seems to be slipping a bit...could be an interesting finale.
I agree with this, Ryan has really started to bring something. I still some of his stage movements look a little ackward at times but he can sure sing. I missed the first 10 minutes of last nights show... someone want to clue me in on what was going on with dilana?? I like lucas as well but somehow part of me feels like he's kind of high maitenance or something... does anyone else see that?? I dunno why I think that...

I don't know much about baptists .... let alone southern baptists. There were only a few baptists churches back home in my city that I can recall and I knew of people that went to them. They seemed nice to me.... *shrug*

Hey hey Y'all ..... I'm just making a long due announcement that I have a new car!! My first vehicle ever, and it's all my own. Paid for in full and I pick it up friday! .... I've been looking at nissan sentra's for awhile now and I ended up finding a 2006 pre-owned nissan sentra at a car lot for a really good deal. It only had just over 3 k on it and it was in perfect condition. My hubby and I were ready to go put a down payment on it but I felt one night after he got off of work that maybe we should go look at it one more time just to make sure. Low and behold the window sticker said it came with no warranty!!! My hubby didn't feel good about it nor did I and he said something wasn't right, specially it being it a new car pretty much. I was kind of bummed out but I prayed about it and Sunday morning I happened to stumble upon an add in the paper that Nissan was having a big rebate sale and that they had nissan sentras on sale. We thought we'd just go check it out and they ended up having only one left for the special deal. It was the exact car I've been looking at and I got it almost 6,000 dollars cheaper than the origional price because of the rebate. It ended up being cheaper than the used one we found and it is loaded. It has a 6 cd changer plus a 7th on top. Full audio package and sports package. It's a really nice little car. I'm so excited and God is so good. It was such an answer to prayer and it makes me realize how much God really is looking after me and how much he blesses me. I'm sooooo excited lol
The car is a 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8S Special Edition Package. The color is black. I can now go find a job and start getting my life back that the gov't held back :-p ..... *Does a little dance*... I pick it up friday! *Does another little dance*... I just wanted to share the good new with everyone
Hope your all having a great week!!

Hey Stina! I'm sorry to hear that your feeling bummed out. I just want you to know that you are not alone. I think some of us have all reached this point at some level or another. I too have been going through the same feelings you have the past few months. My husband too works 10 hr days so I find that I am lonely alot of times in my own thoughts and it's hard. The only thing that I can really tell you that has worked for me is to just really surrender myself and my situations over to God. I know that both of us have him in common. Sometimes what we need to do is just let go of things we can't control and just leave them up to him. Keep your focus on him and may he keep you strong in this tough time. I'm thinking of you and I'll keep you in my prayers. If you need to talk just PM me

My question isn't about heaven and how you get there...and that's really a moot point to me.... I'm just saying that in your own heart, as a person, shouldn't you want to do the good deeds (ie help the poor, etc), because it's the right thing to do, not because you feel you need to to please your God?
I agree yes, but to alot of people that doesn't come naturally and to others it does. Shouldn't we all want to do these things? I don't know maybe but I know alot of people who don't. Should we all have compassion on one another , yes I think so, but again not everyone does.
-
I understand your question frances. Now this is just what I believe and you can surely disagree with me. I don't believe that being a good person is what gets you into heaven. I don't believe it good works that gets you into heaven either. All I can say is that Jesus said he was the truth and the life and that no one can come to the Father or enter heaven accept through him. No matter how good you are without Jesus I believe we all still need him because it's sin that keeps us seperated. Only through Jesus can I find my way to God, to heaven. The road is narrow and very few make it through. No disrespect at all to you though or your beliefs. Thats just me answering your question the best I can from my own standpoint.

Whether or not people listen should not be our motivation for sharing the good news or for working in the field, feeding the poor and clothing the naked. Jesus commanded us to do these things. He didn't tell us to do it only if people respond. We're commanded to share the gospel; we're commanded to pray; and we're commanded to share with the poor. Jesus said for us to do it, and there's no excuse for us not to. I'm looking forward to Jesus coming back for us as much as anyone. But when He comes, I want Him to find me working hard for Him - not just watching the clouds.
Now I don't look down on anyone who also does not believe in what I do but just because I don't look down on them or see them as an equal human being as me doesn't mean I have to agree with what they believe in. I'm just here to live out my life for God. Whoever chooses not to believe, well that again is THEIR choice. Nothing we as christians can change about that. All I can do is let God take matters into his own hands. Sometimes there is only so much people can do , so lets just do that, do what we can do and leave the rest up to God
-
I do agree that we have to be a living example of what we believe. We are called to tell people about Jesus but we are also called to live out what he taught us. Can't just talk the talk, also have to walk the walk.

this is where most christians always go wrong .... free will. if the wonderful god is truly omnipotent, then introducing freewill should not be necessary for happiness. if god wanted all his lovely children happy ... he would have made it so.
unfortunately, he did not want all his lovely children, created in his image, to be eternally happy. he introduced disease, death, suffering, slavery, incest, rape, murder, etc into the world he created. for those that don't live by a set of his 'rules', you are then condemned to an eternal hell for a finite number of sins.
any god's existence is so contradictory that no reasonable and freethinking person can fully accept its existence. who's really going to heaven or hell??? the christians, baptists, muslims, jews, protestants, catholics, lutherans, etc??
Gimy, I like you so I'm just commenting my oppinon on these things. The reason we were given free will from God was because he desired companionship and relationships with his creation. He didn't want an army of robots that would move on his command. He wants US to want HIM , He wants US to love him by our own choice. And oh he does want us to be happy. So very happy. He loves us all. He just wants us to accept him and his plan. Humans are the ones that screwed up we are the one that fall short of God's glory. God did not bring in sickness and suffering and all that other stuff. That was an evil being who did that. Satan brought that all about enticing us with sin thinking we can make it on our own and that we'd all be enlightened by our own understanding. Look at what it has done to the world. Thats not God's doing. He didn't set us up with rules, I dno't see them as rules at all. Guidelines for our own well being. He's God, he see's the future he knows what those things can do to us so he sets up guidelines for our own benefit, not his. Now I do believe in free will and I believe that if anyone chooses to disbelieve in Jesus they have the right to do so. But the Bible also states, though you have the right to choose that path you better be ready for the consequences that come with that choice. Every choice has a consequence good or bad. I said this before in past boards, I as a christian don't make up the rules, only God does and I try to live for him. Not because I have too and not because he is a free ticket to heaven, it's not even about that. I love him with all my heart and I desire to follow his ways because I know he has great plans for my life and I don't understand why I would ever want to reject something like that. Like incanada has said, God is love but he is also just.
Good day you all

I found this on the web, I think its so true.
The World is crying for a Savior and we’re not doing enough!
Nations all around the world are crying for a savior. All nations alike have their own reasons. War, famine, terrorism, and natural disasters are just a few. The crying is not so subtle. The reaching out for help has turned to anger and pointing of fingers. All the while hoping and seeking a savior. The world wants someone who will step up to the plate and create peace.
Everyone is to blame. Unbelievers reject God and his son Jesus Christ. Every encouraged act of God through his modern children is rejected and ridiculed. The world as we know it not only hates God, but hates anything pertaining to God.
Why does the world hate God? Pride is the number one answer. Isaiah 14:12-15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. The pride of man mirrors that of its father the devil.
Secondly, I believe the world hates God, because they do not understand him. The world is blind trying to lead the blind. This world is so corrupt, that lost people have a hard time believing anything. It is not easy to witness to someone about the power of Jesus Christ, because some where down the line, his name has been blasphemed and mocked. Look at your current TV shows and movies and you’ll soon find the name of Jesus has been slandered.
Thirdly Christians are to blame. We are one body divided and we are falling just as Revelation 3 said we would. In fact it is this generation of people who Christ said, "I will spue thee out of my mouth." He is sickened by our lack of faithfulness. We divide ourselves over the Word of God, interpretation of behaviors, and manners of life that have been clearly stated in the Word of God. All the while God’s word is plainly telling us everything we need to know.
I know some of you who are reading this are thinking to yourselves that you have been the best Christian possible. I believe we all try in our own way. However, I am reminded of the story in Luke. Luke 18:9-14 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Does the attitude of the Pharisee sound familiar? We spend too much time justifying our actions by pointing at other people’s faults.
We as Christians have brought the world into our homes and our churches. By doing so, we have become divided over issues that are important to showing stability to the outside world. A non-Christian once asked me, “Why should I listen to you, when your people can’t even agree on what is the Word of God?” “Why should I listen to you, when your people can’t even agree on the behavior of your congregations?” “A mother inside the church you attend supported an abortion because the daughter was supposedly raped. However, when you have another girl who is sexually active have the same abortion performed you call it murder.” “All you so called Christians are alike. You mold Bible to fit what you want when you want it. If you can’t find a way, then you have the word changed.” Those were the harshest words I’ve ever heard in person regarding Christianity. Unfortunately this man is right.
We can’t honestly sit and say this man is wrong. Christ showed us in Rev. 3 this would happen. We are more concerned with ourselves than with the salvation of lost souls. We are more concerned with justifying ourselves before men than God. We will even go as far as to reject portions of God’s word in order to justify our actions. In the mean time the world calls us crazy and liars.
Do we really wonder why the world is looking for a savior? Maybe a Christian doesn’t, but the world does.

It is very simple theory. as you said you hate religion Islam if they were following religion they were true picture of Islam and that’s you hate it. You love 'em becuase they are far from religion.
Okaaaaaaay... I'm not sure how to reply to that. Is ANYONE a "true picture of Islam"? I'd imagine not. They follow the religion as best they can.
Ok As I read this I believe incanada isn't saying she hates the PEOPLE who follow islam, if they follow it closely or not. She doesn't liket he religion or the belief system but it doesn't mean she has to hate the people. I don't agree with alot of things and hate alot of things that go on too and other beliefs but I don't hate the person, just what they do or what they may believe. My uncle is gay, I don't believe that it's right but I don't hate him, I just hate is lifestyle. It's like the saying Love the sinner hate the sin! Thats just how I interpret it though, just my oppinion.

Congrats Pedroh!!!!

Situations like that are so hard to decipher. I don't know what I would have done, I too probably would have not said anything but maybe thought that I didn't think it was acceptable in my mind. I am not sure if it would be my place or whatsoever. It is surprising though what goes on around people and still nobody will say anything. I've seen alot worse and people just stand around .... this ain't close and doesn't involve children but one time I was out with friends and we were walking to our car in a parking lot and found two girls beating the ####### out of eachother. It was actually a really big girl and a small one and the big one ripped the girls skirt off and underwear and was hitting her head into the pavement. There was at least 30-35 people standing around, not close but standing around knowing what was going on and nobody said a thing. My friend and I had to run into a bar close by and get a few bouncers out to come and do something. There has been a time too when I've pulled up to a stop in an intersection and the car beside me had a little maybe 5 year old boy and his mom was cussing his head off. What do you say? Do you just ignore something like that. I did but it kills me inside to have too. *Shrug*
