  1. Well, I had both the denial letter dated March 2006, and a joint bank statement for May. When we came to another branch of the same bank in May, they added me to my husband's account without any problems I brought the denial letter that we got during our first trip to the bank in order to prove that we really tried to add me earlier, but were unable to.

However, during the interview we were not asked to present any of these documents.

We were asked specifically for lease agreement, joint health insurance, 2005 tax return, and evidence of husband's current income (pay stubs and employment letter).

We also had a lot of papers which suggested that we live together: letters, post cards, library cards, fishing licenses showing the same address... Still, we were not asked to show them.

Thanks :) I talked to hubby and he said that I shouldn't even worry about it. I dunno, I guess it can't hurt to get a denial letter but he's saying not to even worry about it. Well, if all else fails and things go wrong I guess I could always blame it on him :-p

  2. One 'wasp' that really frightened me last year until I found out they don't sting and are harmless are cicada killers - they are huge! look like yellow jackets and they attack you - only because they can't sting and they seem to think if they can intimidate you you will stay away from the ground where they lay their eggs:-). I have learned to like them but they look ferocious.

    Bugs, brrrrrrrrrrr!!

I hate those things!! They freakin scare me. As for the black widows, I've only seen one when I came down in the summer of 2004. Found it on a telephone pole. As for brown recluse spiders. I've seen a few of those this past year. Those freak me out too. I hate spiders. My husband also told me that there are these huge red and black fuzzy ants here and if I ever see when to steer away from it. Well what did he think? I'd go up and pet it?? :-p .... I hope to never see one. As for snakes, I've heard so much about people encounters with snakes of all kinds. I'd rather not encounter one at all ever. I hope God heard me on that one lol.

  3. Now i'm obsessed about reading on the bernese dog. My eyes are going to bug out. Ok so I found out that the females shed their undercoat about twice a year and the males shed theirs about once a year but when they do shed, it's major shedding. But after that time there really isn't a big issue. The cheapest ones so far that I've found are about 1000 dollars. Of course I'd go check out the breeder and such first but from what i've found on here they seem to be the most decent. And I phoned up the jewlery store lady lol and she did get her dog from them about 2 years ago and she said he's been wonderful. No problems at all and that they seemed like very serious breeders. Might have to check them out. They live in North Carolina and call their breeding service Swiss Kisz Farm. They breed arabian horses as well. Those are pretty :)

  4. Did they give you a denial letter? Such a letter could at least serve as a proof that you tried to open a joint bank account.

No I have not. Should I? Now I'm getting kind of worried about this. I thought I'd be alright if I jsut explained well I don't yet have a SSN nor a Drivers license. Like I said I have alot of other things such as both car and health insurance, i'm on our new home building contracts, I have a letter from our church stating we are active members, I have myself on our townhome lease, I have mail addressed to both of us and seperately at the same address, I have pictures of everyday life and happenings and tons of wedding photo's etc.

  5. I just recently was having an ant issue. Ick and they are the BIG ants, not little ones. We had no idea where they were coming in from but I always found them in the open kitchen area. My hubby sprayed down both door entrances from the outside and in and we were still getting them. I haven't really seen some in a few days now though, maybe they found a new spot ugh! I hate em. Chiggers are awful, I didn't even know what they were till I moved down here. I hate them, especially if they bite on your toes or fingers, I think thats the worst.

  6. I've heard people on here though who state they in the same situation as me and that they just state they having difficulty because lack of ssn and or drivers license (which they tell me here i cannot get until i get permanent residency (GC) or lack of ssn. They seem to do alright in their interviews. There isn't much I can really do, we've been to 4-5 different banks and they tell us the same thing, either I need a drivers licence or ssn. I don't have either and I can't get the drivers license so they tell me and i'm tired of fighting with those people. I guess all I can do is the best with what I got.

  7. Hello. Some people on here (such as I as an example) get booked for our bio metric appt for our aos and ead at the same time. Obviously they didn't do that in your case though and have you booked at two different dates though they will being doing the same at both. I suggest that you go to both appointments as they are stated in each letter because it is very unlikely that because you are there for one (yet not booked for the other on same day) go through and just do it. Thank goodness that your so close so that this won't have to be much of a problem for you. So I do suggest to just go for the one as stated in first letter and the 2nd the other day stated in the 2nd letter. Good Luck!

  8. Thanks reba for the input ... if it were up to me I'd love to have the dog inside, it wouldn't really bother me. It's my hubby, he just says maybe it's just to big to be a house dog, he believes big dogs need to be more outside. I agree with the heat, and I definately knew about that. :)

  9. We don't have joint bank statements because I'm still waiting on my SSN (which I yet not have and cannot get a bank acct without it here). As for credit cards, neither of us have one just because we never use them and don't like them to be around to be tempted to use them. As for life insurance, just don't have that either as of right now. But I do have health insurance through his work as his beneficiary.

  10. They have that product out now you use on the coat that helps to alleviate some allergy problems, I hear that it works really well.

Bethanie do you now what it is called?

As for shedding, I've always had non shed dogs around all my life, at home and now. Right Now i've currently got a yorkshire dog, he's my baby, he's turning 10 in a few weeks so he's getting up there. But he's still got alot of ####### when he wants to have it lol and he's in perfect shape and health condition. The only time he really bothers me is if I don't brush him for a few weeks or so but It's not like that happens very often, I try to do it once or twice a week and I keep his hair quite short. I find if I just stay on top of him I'm fine.

As for a shedding dog, I don't know if like lets say a Bernese Mountain Dog would bother me or not. I find it's the dogs that just shed no matter how much you groom them (usually a shorter hair dog like a lab or a dalmation or shepard or whatever that I really have issues with) where as my parents have a friend who have a I don't even remember now that I think of it but it also has a veyr thick undercoat and she sheds but only if they don't keep it up and they told me if she's brushed weekly and such she's not half as bad as she would be if they didn't. She has never bothered me. I'm thinking essentially if we do end up getting a bernese pup though one day that as it got bigger we would create a living space outside for it.

  11. We talked to a couple of vendors (wedding/reception site, photographer/videographer) and told them what was going on with us and immigration. They were pretty good about working with us and being flexible about the possibility of changing dates, etc. If you go and have chats with them, it'll help to see if they are willing to work with you

That is very true. :) We did this as well and everyone was very understanding and very flexible. I researched lots of stuff before hand and We already had an idea of what we wanted to do. So we had everything planned pretty much so that when the time came for k-1 interview I pretty much thought I would get it so we went ahead and booked everything in about a month before my interview so I had time to get invitations out before I left. Everything ended up turning out really well and we had about 2 months to get everything finalized when I came to the states before the actual wedding. While I was at home we had boughten all decorations and made party favors while waiting on interview date so that I wouldn't have to worry about those things later. Don't worry, there are a lot of options, so it's really whatever works out best fort he both of you :). And before I left home, we didn't have like a wedding ceremony but My family and friends threw a huge bbq/goodbye/bridal party type thing for my and my hubby before we left. We ended up getting alot of gifts then and such from ppl who wouldn't be able to make it. My parents just ended up bringing it all down with them when they came for the actual wedding. :) Best of luck to you

  12. I can also relate to your situation. I can't say my mom ever got really mean spirited about it but she would always question me about these things. She kept saying that I didn't know what I was getting myself into and everyone kept saying why can't he move here and such. Maybe one day we will move back, I don't know. But I do feel I made a decision, right or wrong, on the basis that I loved my husband even though I hated the idea of moving away from my family and friends. Your mom is probably not trying to be so mean and ubrupt intentionally. She is probably just trying to cope with the fact that your moving so far away from home and that you have children which is her grandchildren and she fears that she may not see them grow up like she would like too. My mom talks about stuff like that all the time and how her dreams have been shattered in a sense because she feels that by the time we have kids she's not going to be an important role in their lives. I would just sit down and talk with her about how your both feeling about the situation and you moving. Explain how it makes you feel and listen to her about how it makes her feel and see if you both can come up with some sort of plan to work things out. Like we will come visit so many times and year and vice versa. Also a web cam and communication can really help when your so far away. I wish you the best of luck. :)

  13. watched some movie yesterday... A beautiful girl from my country apperently came to US as a fiancee of some strictly negative character. Another young man decided to help her, and the two of them married. The question is if it is remotely possible to enter as a fiancee of one man, and marry and successfully adjust status with another?

This just also happened in that new show on NBC or ABC (I don't remember) named Winfall or something where it's that big group of friends that win the lottery. There is that young kid that ended up going in on it with the girl in the gas station and won but because he was underage his dad said he wouldn't be seeing a dime of the money unless it was through him. That very evening I guess they had guests and this guy brought this girl from russia and was planning on marrying her or something but he was such a ####### so the kid made a suggestion to her for them to go get hitched (so she could claim money for him cuz he's underage) so now they are married.

  14. Alright everyone. My AOS interview is in Memphis, TN in just under two weeks (23 June) and I have been currently trying to organize everything I have to take with me into a binder with plastic sleeves. This is what I've done so far.

Everything of real importance for the interview (All NOA's and NOA 2's from k-1 visa to AOS and EAD applications, Both mine and hubbies origional birth certicicates, police checks, marriage cert, etc are all up front) They are all in plastic sleeves and behind every section I have copies of everything easily having access to them

Then I have proof of our marriage section which includes our car insurance, health insurance, letter from our church, building contracts for our new house, bills in hubbies name but having same address, mail sent to me with same address.

Then I have the Marriage section which has some of my wedding gown reciets, our photographer contract still intact, An extra wedding invitation that I had left over, A laminated Thank you card that we gave everyone at the reception, Bridal shower cards, wedding cards.

Then I have a section where it's just stuff me and my hubby have sent eachother and such since we been married. This includes Birthday cards, letters, everyday cards, etc.

Then the Last bit is just Incedental stuff that includes Christmas cards sent to the both of us and other sorts of cards. Mail sent to the both of us. And at the back there is a small photo section I did up. And then we are also taking a wedding scrapbook and a small wedding photo book.

My affidavit of support and taxes are in a small plastic seperate duotang type thing so I can just hand it over in it's entirety with copies.

When it comes to cards and such I just have a few here and there from everything because if I put everyone of them in I'd be taking like 3 full binders, so what I have should suffice should it not? I don't know why i'm so nervous but I'm getting antsy about this silly interview. :) I hope it goes well

  15. I am still fighting this battle with my husband of five months....many of our evenings out begin with the words "is that what you plan to wear?" Recently he did some painting in the bathroom, which was great except that he opted to use his most expensive pair of pants to paint in. With oil base paint. Sigh. Everything else he has is either athletic shorts or jeans.

I fight as well ...well not really ... i make a BIG effort to make small suggestions but then I leave at that. There are many times when I want to say something but I just keep my mouth shut (so hard ) lol but then I just think he is a grown man and he doesn't need me to dress him, though I have the tendency to feel I really need to at times lol.

  16. Thanks everyone for your inputs :) ... Like I said we are still looking and checking around. As for grooming, I don't mind doing it. I guess I see whatyou all mean about the undercoat though. I can't seem to have really really short hair shedding dogs though because I am allergic.
