  1. What are you using to fill it up? A browser? If yes I would switch to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - it's free. Make sure you are using the latest version of the form, which is in the USCIS website.
  2. Totally understandable. Just advise them to be prepared (with the documents) and relaxed (because they should feel confident about their responses). I was nervous when I did my K3 interview back in 2009...when I am nervous, I smile a lot lol
  3. It isn't an intense interview. Most folks I have met say their parents are asked things like: What is your relationship to your petitioner, how long have they lived in the US. Do you know where you will live? (Ideally your parents would know the address, but just the city, state will suffice) Are they looking forward to moving to the US, what is the first thing they would like to do when they arrive. The interview is a formality. Make sure they are prepared with the documents they need to bring to their appointment.
  4. Back around 2011, we helped my mom apply for a tourist visa. That first time she was denied, we had put down that she was visiting for 3 months. The next time we applied, everything was the same - except we put down a much shorter stay - 3 weeks. It was approved. Perhaps that can help. It would be less of a red flag if you kept the visit short, if they can prove they can afford the other expenses of visiting, if your older siblings can show they have jobs (and leaves of absence/vacation time). Wishing you the best.
  5. 1. Parents and their Address: Put the last known address when they were still alive. There is an Additional Information section on the form - you can reference the question number and explain that the parents have passed away and that was their last address. 2. His A-Number is forever and will appear on his naturalization certificate. That is how USCIS will know he is naturalized. 3. Not everyone has an ELIS account number. If he does not have one, he can skip that question. Any questions that do not apply to your brother can be skipped. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required. Hope this helps.
  6. Just curious - did you end up doing this? Could be useful information to the group.
  7. Ok. I filed an I-130 for my mom last year. 2 weeks ago my Actively Reviewing date changed from March 4, 2022 to November 28, 2022 - when I looked at the Documents tab, at the top section where USCIS had sent me communications (letters), the approval notice was already there. That seems to be the benchmark for determining approvals. If there is no letter then all I can think of is that your file just got "touched." Meaning someone just reviewed it but did nothing else. Do you have any concurrent filings? If you do then they may have acted on those.
  8. Did you file online? If yes, you can check the Documents tab in case they uploaded something. Or did the message change to they are Actively Reviewing the case?
  9. Thanks, I went with the suggestion of @Chancy I was able to order my BC on PSA Helpline (Php 365) - a separate service from PSA Serbilis (Php 330).
  10. Yes to clarify when I used PSA Serbilis to order 5 different documents, I kept getting a Maximum limit reached error message. Had to exit and start over and then I saw the message in the popup. (see the bottom of the picture).
  11. I just realized there was a separate service and used PSA Helpline, thanks!
  12. I just wanted to share that I have gone with @Chancy suggestion. I found there is also PSA Helpline (separate from PSA Serbilis) - I was able to make a request in my Mom's name and ordered my BC that way. Thank you for your time.
  13. Hello, folks. I want to apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered before - tried to do a search but many of the results I got were outdated. We are at the NVC stage and we are in the process of ordering PSA documents - I have been able to successfully request my marriage certificates (amended 1st marriage and current 2nd marriage) to be delivered to my sister (she will help my mom with scanning them for her IR5 visa application). Where I am running into an issue is ordering my birth certificate - the PSA Serbilis website only allows me to make two requests - which I have already exhausted on my MCs. I am about to ask my sister to make a request on PSA for my BC and then send me the reference number so I can pay it online. But before I ask her to do that I wanted to ask folks who have completed the NVC process more recently if the USEM will still accept documents on National Statistics Office (NSO) paper - which I have in spades. I am trying to avoid RFEs. If they will only accept PSA documents then I will go with my original plan. Thanks in advance for your patience.
  14. I filed my mom's I-130 November 30, 2021. Just got approved November 28, 2022. It started out in Nebraska SC but when I got the approval the receipt said Vermont.
  15. Filed my Mom's I-130 November 30, 2021. Got approved November 28, 2022 at USCIS with no RFEs. Case got transferred to NVC December 2, 2022. Got Welcome Letter December 3, 2022 (time stamp was 2:48 a.m.) - my mom and I were copied on the email.
  16. The online form allows you to save and return to your form when you are ready to update the information. If a field is not marked with a red asterisk * then the field is not required. You can skip that field if it is not applicable. Blanks are acceptable. When I completed the I-130 online for my mom, she didn't have an A number. Hope this helps.
  17. Yes, if it is Ready, you can book an interview date - just make sure the medical exam is completed at least a week before the interview date. Yes, if your status at NVC is READY, you can book an interview date - just make sure the medical exam is completed at least a week before the interview date.
  18. When you are doing a concurrent filing, USCIS asks most people to monitor the progress of the I-485 - so I wouldn't be surprised if they are reviewing each application on different days and that typically will affect the order they appear.
  19. If you are referring to Beneficiary's Entry Information: Was the beneficiary ever in the United States - say Yes If the beneficiary is CURRENTLY in the United States THEN you answer the next questions. If they are NOT in the US - no need to answer: class of admission date of arrival date of authorized stay expired Leave them blank.
  20. For your mom, copy of your birth certificate and copy of her birth certificate. For your dad, copy of your birth certificate, copy of his birth certificate and a copy of your parents' marriage certificate (to prove they were married before you were born). Children born out of wedlock (parents not married before a child was born) will need more evidence to show that children and their father have a bona-fide child-parent relationship. They will need separate I-130 forms and fees.
  21. Early in our immigration journey, I used a LOT of paper clips, sticky notes and paper tabs to separate forms and identify which supporting documents were included. Used color ink to print descriptions on individual pages lol
  22. I did a quick search for you - there is a page in USCIS called Tips for Filing Forms by Mail (wasn't sure if sharing the link was allowed). Somewhere in there it says not to use staples, instead use heavy duty paper clips.
