  1. You think an IO is not going to wonder about that if you submit matching drivers licenses without matching the insurance policy? At an AOS interview one time the IO compared our house keys and copied our matching CC cards for his file. They reference and cross reference everything.
  2. You have me flagging you LOL In a “normal” household she should already be insured to drive, she should already be your life insurance beneficiary. It is not unusual for mortgage and deed to be in one or the other’s name, nor is it unusual for utilities to be the same. Dependent on health/dental etc is a given. Just reading you the flags dude.
  3. It will help but they have a lot of interest in co-mingled finances
  4. Authorized is blanket, you can legally have a job in the US Eligible is more specific and usually used to refer to meeting the requirements for that specific job
  5. I like this list @stag Add if you have it: Joint Health insurance cards Matching drivers licenses Life insurance beneficiary statements 401k beneficiary statements
  6. As the answer doesn’t affect the outcome of your case (At All) I’d put “unknown” and submit it
  7. I think you’re getting the message. Your Best bet is help her get set up and independent as fast as possible
  8. Your tab if she uses public benefits dude. I’d insure her to the last moment she qualifies. These guys are a dime a dozen 😂 They recycle the last ones plans and ideas It’s like reading the same bitter dude’s posts for what almost two decades now
  9. What name was on the I130 petition after you married? Your passport needs to be updated soonest. That’s the name everything will be issued in.
  10. You’ve been filing taxes yes? First thing they’ll ask for on the affidavit. You can walk in a bank, show your ID, and open an account anytime. Bring your SS card and passport. For that matter you can open an account with an online bank from there. Address it to a family member’s house. I’d suggest reading the I-864 and working out that hurdle. Petition processing is easy. Satisfying the CO that your spouse won’t be a public charge from overseas is not so easy. It’s a grilling at the embassy counter.
  11. You’re wasting time and need to move on with your life is what I think. If I had dollar for every bitter ex that has blown through here since ‘06 I’d be a rich man. Forget it.
  12. Our list: I switched drivers license, bank address, credit card address, mobile accounts to my brother’s house Maintained a car with insurance, same address. My kid took it up to her college campus and drove it. So: You need to get set up. License, bank account at a minimum. “Intent to domicile” takes some work. Your step one is move assets over. Way it has to be. The biggest hurdle is sponsoring your spouse. You either need a lot of cash equivalent assets, a joint sponsor, or income in the US before the petition goes to NVC.
  13. https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/for-what-types-crimes-may-non-citizen-immigrants-apply-waiver-inadmissibility.html You need to consult an attorney. This is far beyond DIY
  14. This has no bearing on your case. Move to Texas. Special law for carjackers down here LOL. The state has issued us hunting licenses.
  15. Yeah I PDF filled ours. The online form bites to be honest. On the PDF it defaults to PRESENT on current address. You can enter unlimited digits for telephone It is possible that you can correct the phone number if the online application has a “part 9” otherwise you may have to fill out an “additional information” sheet and scan it into the file. You sure you don’t want to Fedex or DHL your app to the lockbox? It would be accurately filled out.
  16. OK my I130 filed when we lived overseas was filed with my overseas address and overseas telephone number. That’s where you live, that’s where he lives. That’s how to contact you. Address where relative intends to live was a family member’s address. Which matched my drivers license, bank account, credit card statement
  17. Wouldn’t advise dropping the K1 until H1B is in hand after which she can start work, you can marry, and she can transition to green card through I485.
  18. Honesty. There’s no trick to getting a visit visa but being jobless and no ties and sponsored by your family is going to set you back.
  19. You’ll be fine. I been here on this site since 2006 and never saw anyone get dinged on a home visit.
