If you had one there was fraud in 2015 and had another already in usa on K-1 August 2016 then maybe you should give it more time to get to really know them before bringing them. That said sorry it happened to you.

If I may chime in here, don't take your children. Its risky enough of you going by
yourself, but don't drag you children into it. If you need to go, then go, check him out, his family, surroundings, etc. then if you feel comfortable later down the road, then
take your kids the next time or the trip there after. Its amazing how someone can be so
different face to face then on video chat, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hide comes to mind. Be safe ,
be smart, keep eyes open ,and thinking cap on.
Also don't stay with him and or his family, book a room for few days, then if he is the
true deal, then stay with him or his family.

It is fair to assume if you have a child 15 years YOU ARE old enough to make valid choices on where you want your life to go. if you travel to Morocco you should only go and stay with his family as a safety issue because you do not SPEAK dijra. you will always need someone to translate for you and watch out for your safety because you will be a tourist in a foreign country and you will stand out like a sore thumb and people will come up to you and talk to you ask you for money and you won't understand anything of what they're saying for you. the overall experience is people will give you your shirt off your back but you'll see a lot of poverty and a lot of very wonderful people. if you're going to come over with the intent to find out if you have a fiance I would suggest you do it two times or three times and apply for the k1 I wouldn't just try one trip over and come back and apply it's not going to work like that you need to put your time and going back and forth meeting this person if you want to make that person a real relationship. I'm going back again September or October it'll be 850 dollars round trip stay with his family always always stay with my fiance's family and I am treated like a queen so I would suggest you really knowing where you going to stay who is going to watch out for you who's going to help you translate for you you have to have a sense of security that you're okay there then go ahead and go

I traveled to Morocco alone in 2013. It was the first time I left the USA. I did not travel to meet a potential spouse. I did travel to meet a male friend. I felt very safe. But everyone's experience is different. I was in Casablanca, then traveled by bus to Marrakesh and a couple of other places. I was there for 15 days.
Just be aware of your surroundings and don't go out alone. There are many tourists there. The people are very nice and welcoming.
    I wish you safe travels.

Your parents are coming from a place of love for you and your children. You've only been talking to him for 2 months, and you're planning to spend 2 months with him. I would caution my children just as your parents are cautioning you.
That being said, I'm married to a Moroccan so I understand a bit about the country and the culture. Is it safe? That depends on where you go and who you're with. I've traveled all over Morocco for the past few years and have not had any issues. All over Morocco with one exception, and that's Casablanca. My husband does not want me in Casablanca because he says it is not safe for me there. Marrakesh is sketchy as well.
I think the bigger question is why you feel compelled to leave your children for such a long period of time to go somewhere your family is not comfortable with to meet a man that you've just started talking to.
I'm not trying to be cruel, but it doesn't sound like you're really thinking this through. Morocco is a high fraud country and many men there spend their days and nights in cyber cafes wooing their overseas beloveds in search of the mighty Green Card.
My advice would be to give this some more time before traveling there. Research the people and the culture, both positive and negative.
Edit to add: there have been several busts of small terrorist cells there recently, so although they have not yet suffered an attack, the intent is nearby.

I understand your parents, you have never met him so they can't really tell if it's someone who is trying to play you or not.
I am going to be honest, a lot of people in Morocco (like other poor countries) try to marry people from western countries to get out. I am not saying it's the case for you because I don't know your story but I know a lot of people ended up in this situation.
If he really is a soccer player, he should be financially able to travel to another country so as a compromise maybe you could meet him in another country. If he plays in a small team then he does not make enough, so what is his job the rest of the time?
This is a really personal matter, all I can tell you is that you should be careful cause you could be disappointed...

This is my personal opinion. Been there as a tourist a few years back. We were told not to leave the hotel campus unless it was on an organised trip but even then we were hassled and harassed. I didn't feel safe even in a group of tourists. They seemed to thrive on using any tactics to extract money from you, legal or otherwise.
Now, before anyone starts to shout me down, I know this goes on in many countries not just Morocco... but as a male I was very nervous there... a lone female? gotta be concerned about that.
You say you "are no fool" but you need to research and then research some more about where you are going to stay and with whom.
The 30 Brits that were murdered on the beach in Tunisia probably thought they'd be safe too. Is anywhere 'safe' in the world today? Probably not but you have to minimize the risk by doing lots of research.

Your husband just needs to go to the Ministry of Justice and get the divorce, no money, no lawyer needed, just witnesses. Takes maybe a whole 20 minutes to do. Then have the US consulate in Cairo stamp it off, that was valuable in my divorce there.
OR you can do your divorce here in the USA, and send him the papers with a wavier to
sign it in front of notary at the US consulate there in Cairo, then send it back to you, then you turn it into the courts, and poof your LEGALLY divorced with with no BS from
    Egypt.
Just because you married there (and I presume at the Ministry of Justice), does not mean
you have to get divorced there.
Now if an Orfi marriage, run like hell girl, and forget about him, and never step foot
in Egypt again. Orfi marriage = one night stands or tourist shack ups.
I went through this hell a long while back.

Take a look at it from the dispassionate adjudicator's position.
    - You are in dire financial straits yet you've been to Peru countless (your words) times. That sounds like bad money management on your part.
    - And you also make it sound like you need your wife there as not only an income earner but also a home health aide. That does not sound like a loving relationship. That sounds like an exploitive relationship. The USCIS officials are there to make sure that both the USC petitioner and the foreign national do not get taken advantage of. Reread your letter out loud and see how it sounds.
    - Everything you say may be true, but your letter sounds like whining. And the tone will permeate the entire document, evidence included.
Wanting to start your own business - not a hardship. It's a choice and choices have consequences.
Peruvian income is low - so are many many places in the world. Not a hardship. You do not have to go there. Or you could prepare yourself to earn a better living in Peru. [ I live in Vietnam which has an extremely low average income. I got myself the qualification to teach English as a foreign language and am able to earn much more than the average hard working native. - So you have options.]
Peruvian unemployment - how is this a hardship for you? You are not limited to working in Peru. Programmers / IT professionals are in demand everywhere. English is the international business language, so you are at an advantage.
Crime rate - high crime rates everywhere in the world. There are likely some very safe / low crime areas of Peru. She/you could move if it is unsafe. Not a hardship.
Air pollution - move to a less polluted area.
Grandfather & Mom - you are overplaying it. We all have challenges in our families. Your wife isn't the cure for these problems.
Your health - There are many qualified, licensed care providers living in the US at the moment. Sounds like you want one for free.
Future family - A choice, not a requirement for any couple. Not a hardship. People live outside of America in poor, dirty countries and have great lives.
