  1. Yes, you need to file your change of address now. You can file the AR-11 online, it only takes a minute. Also make sure your husband files the I-865 to change his address as your sponsor. You need to mail this one in. As an LPR you have a legal obligation to let USCIS know each time you move... but don't be surprised if they don't update their files and you get an ROC reminder letter sent to your old address.

  2. Got an RFE today dated 9-13-2012

Wow, nice of them to ask for more evidence 9 months after you filled! That's ridiculous...

    HELLO!!!!

I have GREAT news! Last Tuesday, we got a letter approving my 10-year green card. The letter was dated September 7, 2012. We should receive my green card within 60 days :)

    WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Congrats! :D

  3. I turned my husband into a hockey fanatic! Its our duty as the Canadian spouse... He knows more about it than I do now. We've even had Avalanche season tickets for the last 2 years. Sure he still pokes fun at the Leafs, but I can't really blame him for that...

I'm trying to get into football, and I'm warming up to it, but its nothing like hockey... naturally.

  4. my husband has but is 500$ per month for the health one so we chose to have a private one is just 300$ !!so is no chance to get cheep from work..

Health insurance is often completely desperate from life insurance. Just because their health plan might be expensive, they still may have a decent life plan. Have you looked into it?

Hubby and I have life through State farm. Its about $70/month for both of us, $250,O00 each. I have a small employer sponsored plan through work, but it wasn't cost effective to purchase additional limits. It just depends on the plan.

  5. You guys have me thinking I should come up with a birth plan after all. I guess I was just thinking the things I want are so reasonable anyone would say the same thing, but maybe not. Like no episiotomy... and not asking me about pain meds every 2 seconds. I also don't want them to use forceps.

There will be lots of pictures, promise! I just want her out...badly

  6. I'm all about what is going to be safe for the baby's so I'm keeping an open mind. I decided not to do a birth plan, and just let it be. I still haven't decided on an epidural either... I figure I will see how far I can get, test my limits and go from there. But I was very unhappy with the idea of them not letting me try to deliver naturally. There is still a possibility I'll end up with a c-section, and I'm OK with that if it needs to happen. Basically if she comes out in the next week or so, it should be fine, but if I go to 40 weeks or more maybe not. We'll see! They think she's about 7.5 lbs now, which is perfect, but at week 40 she cold be closer to 9, not that its a really reliable science.

My body looks sooo weird. I'm carrying the baby all out front... my hips, butt and everything else hasn't grown an inch. Just a jumbo gut.... Things are getting harder... I have a lot of pelvic pain, walking is becoming a chore. If I get much bigger I'm not sure how mobile I'll be. So I'm hoping for an early arrival!

Good luck to you gals and thanks for the encouragement! Trying is the fun part!

  7. I did my medical almost 2 months before the interview. It doesn't matter as long as the medical is still valid when you go for the interview and POE, and if you want to make your life easier AOS. Its valid for 12 months, so lots of time.

  8. I had an ultrasound last week and her growth has 'normalized' so it seems they're going to let me carry her to term and deliver naturally. I agree with you girls, I'm not a fan of early inductions or planned C-sections unless there is a serious medical issue. Its important to me that she comes out when she is ready. I have a friend who was induced the other day at 38 weeks because her doctor was going on vacation. That's absolutely ridiculous to me... No way I would agree to that. I don't care, have a different doctor deliver her.

I hit 37 weeks yesterday, I can't wait to meet her :) Everything's is ready to go, I'm just waiting...

  9. How about health insurance? Any joint policy? Do either of you have life insurance listing the other as beneficiary? You say you don't have joint credit cards, but do either of you have your own credit cards and have the other listed as an authorized user?

It might be a good idea so submit a few affidavits from friends/family members. I would definitely have your father-in-law write one confirming your living situation. It also wouldn't hurt for you to write a short letter explaining why certain evidence is missing especially regarding the tax returns.

  10. We have Comcast digital phone/Xfinity with our cable and internet package. The service is good, but I tend to get a lot of solicitation calls as well, mostly for the people who used tho own our home. I can't do much about that since its tied to the address, not the number. This house was a foreclosure, and apparently those people owe a lot of people money...

I know its really antisocial and senior citizen of me, but I just don't answer the phone if I don't know the number. If its an 800 number, its ignored. Our voicemail very clearly says who we are, so if its important and for us, they can leave a message. Now when I have a sleeping baby in the house in a few weeks I might start getting annoyed...

On a random note, I'm not sure how people live without cell phones. Maybe I'm a slave to technology...

  11. Alexis was 8lbs 8oz, if they are going by a recent ultrasound they are not very accurate at this stage can be 1-2 pounds off.

That's pretty big! Yeah, the doctor said 1 pound, so I'm trying not to worry much about it... I had to start seeing a perinatologist. I've had several ultrasounds and have another next week. They say she's in the 95 percentile as far as size. Depending on next weeks results I might need to have a bi-weekly ultrasounds to monitor. I have a small bone structure, and I'm only 5'3" so they're already talking c-section, which I am fighting hard! Hopefully she'll come early, that would help.

  12. Its been a while since I was in Montreal, but I can help you with part of it. Montreal makes you complete the DS 156, 156K and the electronic DS160. Its silly because the 156 and the 160 are virtually the exact same form, but its how they do it. The DS 160 requires an uploaded electronic photo. You still need to bring the other passport photos to your interview, they serve a different purpose.

The electronic interview booking site is foreign to me, it was implemented after I went through the process.

  13. Flying down.. A bit far of a drive and I can't drive anyway. Pretty sure everyone needs to do the customs declaration form (this one: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/vacation/sample_declaration_form.xml). I looked at that thread and it makes things a little more confusing if anything (I might have more than 10k in value in personal items and money (thought not bringing down more than 10k with me) so now I'm more concerned, lol).

The 10k rule is for actual currency, not the cumulative value of your personal belongings. So as long as you're not planning on moving with 10k on you, it doesn't apply. Read the CBSA link in that thread. Even if you were doing that, its not something you'd need to pay tax or duty on, you would just need to report it.

  14. You're crossing on your visa correct? Moving? You are allowed to import your personal belongings, which would include your jewelry, duty free. No need to value anything. Are you flying or driving? If you're driving no customs forms are needed... not sure about plane travel.

  15. Good luck lilacvioletiris! Fingers crossed it happens for you soon.

I'm going to be 36 weeks in a couple days. This part of the pregnancy isn't much fun! I'm excited for her arrival. She's apparently going to be big... yikes... haha. How big were your babies at birth? I'm looking at a possible 9-10 pounds if I go to 40 weeks.

  16. I might do that too. I think that's what I did for the K-1 also, but it's been so long that I can't remember. I'm just so glad that we are almost done with USCIS!

Agreed! I can file for citizenship anytime, but I'm not ready to deal with USCIS again... I'm content with my 10 year card for a while.

By "tax statement" is that a joint return/transcript? Because you definitely want to send that if you filled together. And for 2010 as well. Everything else looks great!

  17. I sent 10 or so and put them in a zip lock bag, then I stapled the bag to a piece of paper. That's what we did for the K-1 petition so I just did the same thing again. I don't think it really matters, as long as its clear.

  18. I can only answer #3- they do not send the results to the consulate. You can either go back and pick them up or have them fed-ex'd to you. Montreal's mail room is like a black hole, so its probably a good thing the results aren't sent directly to them.
