Sheesh. Marco 99.44% certain to go into Louisiana. Laura's track to crisscross Marco's. Laura still projected to hit Louisiana but farther west, possibly even the Texas border.
Time to implement zone defense here.
Maybe the best possible place to come in is the border area east as little and sparse population mitigate a lot. Just knock a lot of trees over as I well know as I lost a lot of old growth oak trees on acreage I owned eastward.

Good. Assault is a serious crime as well as theft or at least in Texas but there I think they give you a medal if you beat on Trumpers.

As of 6 p.m., cone had moved toward Floridiana. Amazing. If this holds, Laura could be more of a problem for Texas than Marco, especially if former's path goes over or south of Cuba. Will report again after 10 p.m. update.
This is why we never worry about major storms until they get into the Gulf. Just the double whammy of these got us spooked as we have never had it happen. They both look like baby hurricanes though so flooding comes into play. Lucky none of my properties are flood prone.
-
Now they are having the cones both coming for us here in Houston. I blame Trump.

Give it a week, you may actually have to lower your offer...
After next week we forget Ike trash and pick over the new trash because it is like the old trash.

Prediction that I heard was ~8 feet of storm surge in Galveston, from the direct hit and the influence of the other. Last thing Galveston needs is another Ike.
Galveston just got rebuilt too as well as Bolivar. Hell last month I was looking at a couple of houses that were flooded from Ike. I just bid the lot price and they refused.

I got a right for protection myself. (As I count my ammo)

Also saw that the eastern cone has moved westward and is looking like a possible direct New Orleans target for now and one for us here in Houston. The 2 cities that have always helped each other is getting hit at about the same time.

I wonder the meteorologic outcome of that. I think they would cancel each other out, so to speak.
No I just read that one would weaken and the other stronger but they would become one if given enough time but there will be little time for them to merge. More than likely they will affect each other and such of course but probable push each others path. This will be interesting to see but I think they will be a big nothing.

Let's hope. And let's hope that a diseased tree doesn't die on our roof.
Still haven't heard from a buddy there.
Yeah and my neighbors diseased tree falls on his house and not my garage.
Prayers for the buddy. My niece just got cell service and electricity and internet yesterday so maybe soon.

Of course a hurricane is loud and the sound in the dark of the wind can be harrowing but I just didn't find any hurricane I've been through as frightening as the Derecho of 2012. It was the middle of the night no real warning, and truly like a bomb went off when it was over. Really feel for those in Iowa that went through this recently.
I feel for them as well as My niece and her family. Natural disasters are no fun for the ones hit by them. I been through many over many decades and most are not too scary but some are. Ike was not too bad really on wind damage but the tidal surge was powerful and I live next to Galveston bay. When the water entered my garage from Ike told me the surge was higher than they said it was and got scary but luckily it started to subside at that time. Any higher and I was going to be in bad shape. It is all perspective and some luck.

Been through a couple nighttime ones. Didn't find them more scary in the dark... but honestly? A Derecho at night was about the most terrifying experience I've had. I rode that out in a bathtub.
Bull. Imagine a 24+ hours of a cat 3 or above cane. My Niece was in to and scared but everything she said was the same stuff as a brief hurricane condition. Granted an hour or terror is hellish if one has no warning and we get warnings days in advance sometimes. These are going to be ones anyway so just a thunder boomer here with gusts.

14 = to be Marco = ours. Last night, both landfall predictions were 13:00 Tuesday.
Nothing like a nighttime hurricane. Still remember Ike. Not fun.
Yeah that was fun. Sometimes streaks of light from blown power lines or lighting or whatever and see chit flying through the air and wonder what that was. The whole house shaking constantly...

Bring it on beotches. I just ordered a new generator and jerry cans. Checking my ammo supply as well.

For sure my brother. I been telling everyone that the 2 parties were essentially the same and that is what is causing the class warfare to nab just 2-3% of the vote. Waiting for Bush to change parties.

It's a great day!
About time they stopped this farce and stop wasting every ones time. Pretty much lost the Socialists the next election but the best part is seeing in my lifetime the demise of the KKK Democratic party finally. The last vestiges of slavery can finally be put to rest. God bless America.

The Texans will choke and not beat Beefalo or whomever else they face.
Furthermore, several important players will be injured when O'Brien starts all the starters in the upcoming meaningless game against Tennessee.
The Texans make me think sometimes that God has to hate Houston to allow the citizens such miserly but then we have 2 great Sports teams in the Astros then the Rockets so maybe he is trolling us.
