  1. Our K-1 was approved by USCIS on 9/10, and we're now waiting for the petition to be sent to the NVC. Does anyone know what appointment dates are currently being scheduled? I’m planning a trip and would like to get an idea of when her interview might be, so I can plan accordingly. I know it's hard to forecast but any insights would be appreciated! Thanks!
  2. Our K-1 case was approved today. Fingers crossed our case made it on the stack shipped out today 🤞
  3. Thanks for the heads up! Our K-1 case was just approved by USCIS today. There's no chance we'll get through NVC stage and have interview scheduled by Sept 28. Here's hoping the new system is improved!
  4. Thank you for this! I will do the same once the physical NOA2 comes in. Appreciate it!
  5. Thanks for posting this. I was wondering the same thing with our recent USCIS approval. How many days did you wait before contacting NVC, @apnzz?
  6. Excellent advice. Nothing to add other than have fun!
  7. Yes, you are right. But his question was specifically about the meeting requirement. Of course more visits are better, especially to maintain the relationship.
  8. You are correct, the K-1 requires having met each other in person at least once within the last 2 years. You fulfill that requirement and do not need to plan for another meeting.
  9. I’m Filipino-American, born and raised in San Diego, CA and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My parents are from Kawit, Cavite and my fiancé is from Cebu.
  10. Super easy indeed. Several of us have suggested this to the OP already.
  11. Congrats! You can schedule two weeks before your visa interview.
  12. I plan to put together two folders for my fiancé to bring to her interview. Folder 1 contains documents required to bring to the interview. Folder 2 contains evidence that the consular officer might ask for. Folder 1 Valid Passport Original PSA birth certificate Original NBI certificate Certified Copy of Divorce Decree Affidavit of Support including supporting documents Employment Letter Pay Stubs Last 3 Tax Returns in the form of Tax Transcript Folder 2 Evidence of ongoing relationship after petition was filed Pictures Messages Engagement Ring receipt Plane tickets, boarding passes, etc.
  13. Oh, in that case you would be eligible to enter under the Balikbayan program. You would just need to re-enter the country with your wife and show your marriage certificate. Balikbayan program will allow you to stay in the Philippines for one year without a visa.
  14. Another option is to leave the country for a few days, or as long as you wish, and then fly back. It's a great excuse to take a quick vacation with your fiancé 😁. You'll find that flying to some visa-free countries for both Filipinos and Americans, such as Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, or Hong Kong, is quite affordable.
  15. Exactly what I was going to say. Does not apply to U.S. citizens since we are eligible for visa free entry.
  16. I visit the Philippines twice a year and my trips are usually a month and a half. This is exactly what I do - Ieave the country for a week (usually to a new country nearby that I haven’t visited yet) and come back.
  17. Sorry can you give a bit more context? What is the IOM domain related to?
  18. There is only one clinic that is authorized by the U.S. Embassy of Manila to perform medical examinations to fulfill visa requirements, and that’s St. Lukes Medical Center. They also provide medical exam services for other embassies (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, and and more) which might play a role in interview availability.
  19. I've read about this in other threads. I think someone mentioned they are fully booked until August. Hoping you're able to schedule soon!
  20. Have you had any luck scheduling the interview? I don’t have any tips to offer unfortunately.
  21. Congrats! Generally, 2-4 weeks. But some have taken longer.
  22. @Stevephoto nice to see you active here. I remember you from the Asawa World visa support group on Facebook from back in the day.
  23. I feel you! Tough decision indeed. Let us know what path you end up taking. Wishing you the best!
