  1. As most medical doctors would say, don't practice medicine on an internet board, and don't try to makr a medical decision for someone whom you have no qualification to base a decision on.

If the OP would take the time to go visit and have a medical consult with a CNW or a medical practice, they would be his best source of information. None of us knows for a fact if she is high risk, or if her pregnancy may just be normal. OP everyone here is just basing decisions on very little information and facts.

  2. Correction, giving birth "can" be... Not IS. After 15 plus years in the emergency room.. No one deems child birth life threatening from the concept unless a pre-existing medical condition exists. To say it is life threatening without knowing would be PURE speculation.

Maternal mortality happens in 13 of 100,000 live births. Death from childbirth is rare.

The point I was making is that you can't go to medicaid asking for assistance ahead of time based on an emergency that has not happened.

    In the OP's opening statement

How can that assumption be made unless there is a pre-existing condition that would endanger the mother during childbirth?

The point is emergency medicaid is not given out before hand, it is offered after the medical emegency has been establish. When the bill has been produced for payment. gee....

  3. I midwife may not be the best option as I said before if the wife has fibroids/ myoma that will complicate the pregnancy. It may be best/ safest to be monitored by an OBGYN.

Amd as I stated there are MD's on staff at all nure mid-wife centers. So what's the issue, she will not have the need to see the MD at every visit.

Have you ever used a NMW in the US, do you understand the protocol and guidelines a NMW has for operating in the US?

  4. I think some home births are not covered by Medicaid
. Is she sees OBGYN then she can be covered and get Package E mediciad which offive visit is not coverd only delivery. She still can apply for medicaid even withouht SS# as in here in Indiana. Pregnant women still covered even they are undocumented same benefits if you are a GC holder and been living in the US for less than 5 years. It is a fact because i work in OB unit and does insurance stuff.

Please explain that statement, because it doesn't make sense. IF sh gave birth at home with no medical personell in attendance there would be no charge.

  5. Awesome but from what I understand, the birth at the hospital will be covered by emergency medicare... nothing else leading up to that will be though, thats my problem.

Do the entire pregnancy pre and post care thru the nurse-midwfe, only use the medicaid if the birth is complicated. There are some very excellent nurse-mid wife programs out there. All NMW programs have an MD on staff aswell.

  6. Right, well she is not Mexican. She is Peruvian. We live on the border with San Diego so that I can maintain my career so that doesn't help us either. Thanks for your advice guys. I am starting to think I am just royally screwed.

Plus having my child born out of America disqualifies them from President of the USA.... Yes, its a long shot, but who I am to limit his path. I want all doors open ;)

INQUIRE ABOUT A PAYMENT PLAN WITH A NURSE MID-WIFE PROGRAM, IT'S 50% CHEAPER than a birth in a hospital.

  7. Malaila, I will answer your questions in a PM, but one thing I would like to point out is this my husband works in Tampa Florida on a project, while I continue to reside in our orginal location. I travel every other weekend to see him, there was a period of time that his job was in the same state as our residence but since he works on projects he travel to where the jobs are.

We have been able to do this quite well, and ROC was no problem at all.

  8. No he doesn't have to list all jobs on his resume, only those which would give a true picture of his skills.

Let me ell you aa story, I am presenly trying to hire people for postions that are for a job with a salary range $80,000-$125,000. A resume came across my desk, the person had under her education, working toward a masters in HR. Now, the posiion I am hiring for has nothing to do with HR. My first question was, was she trying to make a carreer change, probably not if she is still studing toward her Masters in HR. I had to pass on her resume, she wasn't even offerred a phone interview.

  9. LOL yes we are actually near Orlando, I am going have him fill out stuff for Universal and Disney, never know might be something that pops up from there. We were talking the other night , do you think if he sends his resume to businesses that aren't advertising about hiring is a bad idea? And if not how would we go about doing that?

No, that won't be in bad taste, include a cover letter. Call and ask them what employmen agency they use to soliciate applications from. Send your resume to them with a cover leter.
