Also why did you type TV instead of the patwah word for it?
-
Kenny got it right because he translated in present tense with 'on now' but Life translated in future tense with 'going to'.
So what I said was Nothing is going on on TV but politics' or 'Only politics is on TV'. Literal translation is 'Nothing not going on on TV but only politics'
Question: how the heck did Kennard get it right?
What does this mean? Is this Trini talk or what?
Sorry but mi hubsand said what we typed was what you said, not what you meant. Unless you and him speak different patwa. Maybe his is city and your is country.
nuting naaw gwaan paaw TV but bare pallylitics.
Nothing not going appear/upon TV but boring politics.
-
Or nothing is on TV but only politics.
That is the US english version, what he actual said is what I typed.
-
Nothing is going to appear on TV but boring politicis. You know that damn Romeny.

Hi! I am new. I am at the very end of this long process! My step children in Jamaica are living with their auntie because the mother left them un taken care of. so i filed for permanent residence in january. now we are waiting for an apt letter for the children to go to the embassy! So i am scared to death if they want a paternity test. He and the woman were never married but his last name is the same as his children and his name is on the birth certificate. but we went to jamaica in november to fix one of the birth certificates because the child's name was spelled wrong. my husbend has always had a gut feeling one of the children are not his. (his woman turned out to be a bad cheater) so we are scared to death we don't want to find out this way we don't want the child to find out until they get to the united states we will tell her someday. SO
? i had lots of proof, western union receits and stuff like that we support and love them very much.MY QUESTION WILL THEY DO A PATERNITY TEST IN MY SITUATIONAs I stated in your other post the proability is high they wii require a DNA test. What's in bold has no bearing on anything. The embassy is quite aware of the situations reguarding "jacket" proability in Jamaica.

Shes adjusting well. She was here 10yrs ago as a visitor so she had some reasonable expectations.
We already have private insurance for her but good to know what options there are down the road.
Also, does ahe have to apply for a SSN or will it come automatically?
It should come automatically, but if not received by the time GC arrive, then go to SS office and apply.
What about life insurance have you'll looked into it ?
The cost of prescriptions could run her about $300 to $500 per month, just for basic high blood pressure, diabetics, high cholosterol.
Becareful a chnage and diet and environment will make her body change, therefore she maynot have had some of these issues in India, but here in the US they will surface.
-
She will never qualifiy for Medicare, and Medicaid would be only after she has been a LPR for 5 years. Her medical needs will have to be covered by her family.
How is she adjusting to such a drastic change in her living environment? Wow I overlooked the fact that it's NY too.
-
The probability of a DNA request being asked will be great. As you stated you have read and heard about the "jacket" issues. No one can tell you for sure what the embassy will do in your husbands situation. Just be prepare if DNA is requested.
-
Absolutely on point.
I meant o say down pack. That accent takes some of them far. LOL
-
Emmit Tx not to sound harsh the same way he got someone to pay for those 7 visitor visa applications, he can convince someone to aid him in this if he felt he need to. But that's for the father to fiqure out if he should choose that route.
I know of men in Jamaica who have it down pat on having multiple womens taken care of them very well from the US, UK, German and Canada.
-
Nope i said more after that. But the timelines are good.
I sent U an email to your email address thru VJ
-
What she is saying, you knew up front that he really wanted to come to the US, by the mere facts that he had previously applied for 6 your +1 visitor visa, before you applied for the K1 application.
As you have added more details, mpieces are being filled in.
No advise on relationship to be given/

here is your reading material on that
This is the wavier appliccation

SD, what I have gotten out of this is that the OP has found out thru friends of the Nigeria community that her ex has a green card. She has narrowed it down to the fact that the only way he could have obtained it was by filing VAWA. Since as his sponsor and wife she did not file AOS for him.
Now all of the other pieces regarding, revenge and kamar are just discussion. I truly think she is over looking her blessing, because in this short period of time she has already found someone whom she consider to be better than what she lost.
Good luck to the OP going forward.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions, but I do want to make it clear that while Haiti is a poor country, its proximity to the states ensures that just about everything you can find in DC (and I also reside there) you can find in Haiti. Now, it will come at an added cost, but it is available. You sound as if you are preparing for the Peace Corps and you should erase that thought. I also was a Peace Corps volunteer, so I know a little of what I speak and this is not the same situation. There are approximately 2 new grocery stores that carries just about everything you'd find in America. There is even a home goods store that sells things you'd want for your kitchen etc.. Again, I say, there will be a cost, but given that your husband is going to be working for the UN, I imagine that he will have a decent salary. Also please don't forget that Haiti DR is right next door, you can go to HaitiDR then take a look at what they don't have and bring it back on your next visit to the states.
Just breathe, it'll be alright. It won't be that hard. Just be careful and keep your wits about you and your doors locked.

Kristina,
The best advice given here I feel is
1) Focus on you. If you decide that you need more time to know for sure on this man, withdraw the petition and give no reason and let time give you more answers if you need it. If you have reasons to give to Kingston Embassy, report him as fraud and protect those who will come next.
2) 7 tourist visas- I beg to know HOW this man paid for the fees each time? Asking my (Jamaican) husband his first statement was ''well the man must have 3 or 4 or more woman here already supporting him to get here... but won't try to marry him for whatever reason (only applied tourist visa and never K-1 I'm assuming)'' Either that, or he's a rich man? Jamaica (and many other countries) have a very amount of fraud, particularily men making a living off foreign women and eventually making it to their country, maybe four five six women later but they do reach.
3) For your baby, there's nothing wrong with not putting the father's name on the birth certificate. I can speak from personal experience. There's nothing wrong with changing your number and forgetting it all, for the sake of you AND your unborn. The two of you (baby and you) can start fresh with a new life.
I speak from first hand experience and experience that I've seen others go through. Feel free to message me. I hope you find calm in the midst of all the storm.
As I said before.........
Thks, eagle+eyed
Life.. tryin to Pm u.. ?? Not working.
I tired to PM you too, yours is not working either.
-
That's what i meant.. lol.... i know she did a club in Kingston.. but to me. Story doesn't add up well. Maybe its just me. Who would still try to get a visa after 6-7 times of being denied.... nuh mek sense.
LOL, u c why I don't part take in these love relationship stoies. More to it than what is generally posted.
I let the dumb # rollover me.
Life.. tryin to Pm u.. ?? Not working.
Let me ck...

Hold off on the personal attacks against me and the OP,lifejourney. Take it to pm if you need to.
I repeat, all I've asked for is information that is verifiable. If you're going to bring up DNA tests etc that the father might pursue, then back it up with information that he can do so through Jamaican-U.S. courts... That would be useful. How would proving the child is his be useful to his immigrating? He can't use it to get to the U.S. anyways, the child would have to petition IF the child wanted to- after age 21 years. The father can't force the mother to bring it to him in Jamaica via courts.
I truly am curious as to what legal rights he would have from another country, no sarcasm at all here, I think it's an interesting point that wasn't substantiated.
S.
HOLD IT, I have never stated that this father would be using this child for immigration purpose. Jamaican men lay claims to their children, even if they can't even feed them.. They hold to heart a child of theirs is precious, since they relaized that children lives are hard.
Second, I never attached you, it's how YOU read the post.
Third, I am not saying anything to the poster that i wouldn't say to my own sister.
Fourth, yes a court order set forth in a Jamaican court can be brought forth to a US court. The same is vice-versa, a court order set forth in a US court can be brought forth to a Jamaican court.
Fifth, as I stated before the OP can carry-on with her head in the sand, but life has taught me, the un-expected dos always seems to have a way to raise his head.
Sixth, he doesn't need the mother or the child for nother shot at immigration, tourist visit this island on a daily basis. As the saying goes what happens in Jamaica, stays in Jamaica. The OP is just one of many, her relationship could be real.
Power is not in doing something, but knowning that something can happen.
-
yes Boiler, and in the same line of OP:
"I then find out thru someone that he was given a greencard!!"
HOW, please?
She state thru a friend of a friend
-
So when was it decided to let him come on K-1 visa? Knowing he had applied for 6-7 times for visa... wouldn't you think that was suspicious from the get go? Just a lil confused on the story... where did you stay when u were with him etc?
This part of the story everyone seems to have over-looked. It doesn't matter now.
I would ask, where did she met a Kingston man, generally tourists aren't on that side of the island.

All I'm asking is that if someone posts saying how the biological father is going to come after her legally, that the poster reference or give some sort of real substance of information as to how that can happen. That would be genuine advice and very useful, she can then be proactive in a real way. Posters should not create more confusion and drama, they should lessen the confusion and fear.
Sera
Sera, the same way a biological father establih paternity in any country, thru DNA. You'll only wants to hear one side stories, in this case the OP has more to think about than just canceling a K1, she is about to have this man's child.
Stop thinking Jamaica is this backward country, everything that can happen in the US, New Zeland, can happen in Jamaica. I am not creating any drama, the poster has created that on her own.
Being proactive is she can no longer just think about herself, she also has to think about what right for her child.
AsI have stated over and over I don't give relationship advise, I am giving her other things she might nees to consider. I leave the relaionship advise to VJ, you'll do such a good job at it.
-
Well since we only wants to talk about the nice and good stuff, please delete my posts. When hard knocks are knocking at her door, she should come back and talk to you'll.
I will continue to say this every father have rights, regardless if you'll like it or not.
Her baby daddy may not care or Her baaby DAddy may care.
-
I didn't tell her to do anything at all. I'm a straight talker. No need to read anything extra into what I write. "Perhaps" is a word with meaning that leaves open the possibility that everything you think "might" happen, "could" happen. Perhaps you overreacted.
Do you see actual "have to's"? If so, what are they? Are they REALLY "have to's" or are they MAY "have to's"? Words have meaning.
Pushbrk the american is me would have agreed with you, but sine being in the Jmaican circle my etes have been opened and I have seen and heard it all.
A mother heartstring is something noone can control.
As I said i have seen this movie before.
-
Perhaps. It depends on the father. However, having a child in the USA does not give father any open door to a visa to come to the USA. I doubt it would come to that but I suppose it's possible for the father to obtain a court order for the mother to bring the child to Jamaica for a visit at some point. It's certainly possible for the mother to obtain a court order for child support. Without court orders though, there are no 'have to's" regarding dealing with the father.
Pushbrk, In you'll prefect world this maybe true, but in the non prefect world, that father may be a part of her nightmare life for the next 18 years.
I only telling it from my perspective, and you can tell from your perspective. Because I can guarantee you they are still communicating while you'll are telling her to run.
I have been to this show before.

I really really really like your suggestion about the forum that would be deciated to posts that only wants group hugs and when it's okay to slander your ex.
Before the naysayers jump up- you can present your case in a question manner with out slander.
In every case there is a defense and a prosecutor, most people wants both on their side which leave the other party with no defense.
