  1. @SL2024 That’s good to know. Congratulations to you. When was your visa issued?
  2. Unfortunately, no one can tell you how long it will take. Last November, my husband and I were in the same situation with the London embassy. They asked for the original divorce certificate from my previous marriage and I mailed it the same day. I even contacted my congressman after waiting for 3 months. It took 6 months before the visa was issued. I went through hell while waiting. He had to redo his medical exam. Good luck to you and your wife.
  3. I don’t know if this applies to you but when I did mine 10 years ago, we had a son so I included a copy of birth certificate and a copy of our car registration which was in both our names. Good luck to you.
  4. @SL2024 In London! I believe they have only one option to choose from for those in London. I know another person who’s got delayed for only one day. However, I believe everyone’s case is different depending on the delivery driver. They have very bad reviews online though.
  5. @SL2024 Trust me, you are lucky if they come on time and I can 99.99% assure you they won’t return with your package because you authorized your grandma to sign. Those delivery drivers don’t care that much. The one my husband had lied twice that he was at his house and there was no one home. Meanwhile, my husband called off from work for two days just to stay home and wait for the delivery guy. He would track the van to a place close to his home and when he thinks he’s finally here, he won’t show up. He finally had to call for them to change him.
  6. @SL2024 No, that wasn’t an option. You are not given the opportunity to make any changes. However, I can assure you the delivery company is not as strict as you may think. They don’t care much about who signs and receives the package.
  7. @SL2024You have the option to pick it up at the DX store. I won’t advise you take off and stay home to wait for it because most of the time, they don’t deliver it on the same day as the tracking says. If you can work at your grandmas, then do that. I remember after my husband waited for 2 days with no delivery, he had to call their customer service to arrange for the next day delivery. On the 3rd day, he gave his ID to his sister to receive it on his behalf.
  8. @JeanneAdil Your concerns are valid and I have the same concerns. The problem is that there’s a high chance the new woman will be told and she will still say she can handle it so she could get to the US. When reality finally sets in, she may then leave OP unfortunately. I’m not a prophet of doom but just being honest.
  9. @bnayak Until they’re in the US, a green card won’t be produced regardless of whether you’ve paid the fee or not.
  10. @electron86 getting interviews on F1 is hard to come by. Why are you rescheduling your interview?
  11. Getting Medicaid shouldn’t be a reason to be denied citizenship. I had it for both my kids and still got my citizenship in 3 years with no issues.
  12. @M S Khan I don’t think the color makes a difference. If you submitted all they asked for, let’s hope you hear back from them soon. Wish she had gone to the interview with them. My husband went with our pictures and copies of my travel tickets. She even went through his phone for more pictures. Yet, they still went to verify from our home country.(I’m 100% sure they did).
  13. @appleblossom Yes, I know but for her, she wasn’t approved instantly and was handed the green sheet with Additional Administrative Processing checked so it wasn’t the regular one as yours.
  14. @M S Khan Yes, she checked the Additional Administration part of the green paper. Even though, they say it takes 60 days when you’re in AP, it all depends on your case and what they’re doing with it. It could be less than 60 days or more. As you can see ours took almost 6 months before we heard back from them and my husband had to redo his medical exam. It all depends on what they’re doing with it. If they have to go to wherever you guys got married to verify, as we believe they did with ours, then it’ll take time. I know someone at the same embassy they placed in AP on Wednesday and issued her visa the following Monday. You can never tell with them.
  15. @M S Khan My husband is not a UK national, he’s a Ghanaian with a UK resident permit. They never told us but we believe they went to Ghana to check if our marriage certificate was genuine. They kept only that and his passport and returned everything else to him. We asked for the passport back after 3 months of waiting though. Is your wife in the UK as well? Is she a national? Did you get married in the UK or US. I’m asking because the consular asked my husband why we didn’t marry in the UK but went to Ghana and my husband told her both our families are in Ghana and our marriage requires both families to be around.
  16. @DC58 Yes, my husband did pay extra I think £21 to have it delivered.
  17. You do need the booster if it’s been more than 12 months since you had the vaccine. If the medical officer said you needed it, then go ahead and get it. My husband had to do same in May before his medical exam was complete. He had to pay £100 to get it at a private facility.
  18. If you previously had a 1 or 2 dose series of a vaccine, you are covered. A booster is a seasonal vaccine for your own health. USCIS covers this answer as follows: It is actually required by the UK embassy to get a dose within the last 12 months. My husband had to get it even though he already had 2 doses in 2022.
  19. @dwheels76 She knows about the ban if she leaves the country. The mother is the only one currently in the US and she couldn’t file her citizenship because she spent 2 years in Germany. She’s waiting to qualify to file under the 5 year rule.
  20. @Crazy Cat The father was a green card holder when he petitioned for the mother. While the mother was waiting overseas, she had her daughter so she received her visa and joined the husband while the husband petitioned for the child. Somewhere along the line, they moved to Germany while the petition was in progress at the NVC and it was eventually cancelled. Now, the mother and child have moved back to the US after 2 years of being away. So she wants to begin the process again and this time with the mother as the petitioner. The child is 9 years old.
  21. So my friend, who’s a green card holder came to the US with her daughter on ESTA from Germany. She has stayed in the US for almost two years now. My friend initially was advised by a lawyer to wait until she becomes a citizen before filing for her. However, yesterday she told me someone advised her to start the process now because it’s her daughter, she’s allowed to adjust her status a permanent resident. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  22. It’s always best to submit the tax transcript instead of 1040 and W2s. Those can easily be forged.
  23. Why didn’t you add them to your wife’s petition when you did for her?
