  1. @SL2024You have the option to pick it up at the DX store. I won’t advise you take off and stay home to wait for it because most of the time, they don’t deliver it on the same day as the tracking says. If you can work at your grandmas, then do that. I remember after my husband waited for 2 days with no delivery, he had to call their customer service to arrange for the next day delivery. On the 3rd day, he gave his ID to his sister to receive it on his behalf.
  2. @JeanneAdil Your concerns are valid and I have the same concerns. The problem is that there’s a high chance the new woman will be told and she will still say she can handle it so she could get to the US. When reality finally sets in, she may then leave OP unfortunately. I’m not a prophet of doom but just being honest.
  3. @bnayak Until they’re in the US, a green card won’t be produced regardless of whether you’ve paid the fee or not.
  4. @electron86 getting interviews on F1 is hard to come by. Why are you rescheduling your interview?
  5. Getting Medicaid shouldn’t be a reason to be denied citizenship. I had it for both my kids and still got my citizenship in 3 years with no issues.
  6. @M S Khan I don’t think the color makes a difference. If you submitted all they asked for, let’s hope you hear back from them soon. Wish she had gone to the interview with them. My husband went with our pictures and copies of my travel tickets. She even went through his phone for more pictures. Yet, they still went to verify from our home country.(I’m 100% sure they did).
  7. @appleblossom Yes, I know but for her, she wasn’t approved instantly and was handed the green sheet with Additional Administrative Processing checked so it wasn’t the regular one as yours.
  8. @M S Khan Yes, she checked the Additional Administration part of the green paper. Even though, they say it takes 60 days when you’re in AP, it all depends on your case and what they’re doing with it. It could be less than 60 days or more. As you can see ours took almost 6 months before we heard back from them and my husband had to redo his medical exam. It all depends on what they’re doing with it. If they have to go to wherever you guys got married to verify, as we believe they did with ours, then it’ll take time. I know someone at the same embassy they placed in AP on Wednesday and issued her visa the following Monday. You can never tell with them.
  9. @M S Khan My husband is not a UK national, he’s a Ghanaian with a UK resident permit. They never told us but we believe they went to Ghana to check if our marriage certificate was genuine. They kept only that and his passport and returned everything else to him. We asked for the passport back after 3 months of waiting though. Is your wife in the UK as well? Is she a national? Did you get married in the UK or US. I’m asking because the consular asked my husband why we didn’t marry in the UK but went to Ghana and my husband told her both our families are in Ghana and our marriage requires both families to be around.
  10. @DC58 Yes, my husband did pay extra I think £21 to have it delivered.
  11. You do need the booster if it’s been more than 12 months since you had the vaccine. If the medical officer said you needed it, then go ahead and get it. My husband had to do same in May before his medical exam was complete. He had to pay £100 to get it at a private facility.
  12. If you previously had a 1 or 2 dose series of a vaccine, you are covered. A booster is a seasonal vaccine for your own health. USCIS covers this answer as follows: It is actually required by the UK embassy to get a dose within the last 12 months. My husband had to get it even though he already had 2 doses in 2022.
  13. @dwheels76 She knows about the ban if she leaves the country. The mother is the only one currently in the US and she couldn’t file her citizenship because she spent 2 years in Germany. She’s waiting to qualify to file under the 5 year rule.
  14. @Crazy Cat The father was a green card holder when he petitioned for the mother. While the mother was waiting overseas, she had her daughter so she received her visa and joined the husband while the husband petitioned for the child. Somewhere along the line, they moved to Germany while the petition was in progress at the NVC and it was eventually cancelled. Now, the mother and child have moved back to the US after 2 years of being away. So she wants to begin the process again and this time with the mother as the petitioner. The child is 9 years old.
  15. So my friend, who’s a green card holder came to the US with her daughter on ESTA from Germany. She has stayed in the US for almost two years now. My friend initially was advised by a lawyer to wait until she becomes a citizen before filing for her. However, yesterday she told me someone advised her to start the process now because it’s her daughter, she’s allowed to adjust her status a permanent resident. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  16. It’s always best to submit the tax transcript instead of 1040 and W2s. Those can easily be forged.
  17. Why didn’t you add them to your wife’s petition when you did for her?
  18. @M S Khan Yes, visa was issued last month May 23. Thanks for asking.
  19. @Deejee That’s good to know. Congratulations to you!
  20. @Deejee My husband was at the London embassy on November 16, 2023 and was placed on AP. In our case, they required original copies so we had to mail them. There was another lady who had her interview a day after my husband did at the same embassy and she just had to upload her documents on CAEC just like yours and she was approved in about 6 weeks after the interview. For us, I think they wanted to do more review or investigation on our case so it took 6 months before the visa was issued. So in conclusion, each case is different. It might take days, weeks, months or in some instances years. It all depends on your case.
  21. @Lee Thacket Yes, they delivered it last Thursday. Thank you asking.
  22. You’re not supposed to sign your DS 260 form by yourself. It’s written that you sign it in front of the consular who will interview you. Unless, I did not understand your question correctly.
  23. I actually changed mine on the day of the ceremony. When I went for my interview, I told the interviewer and she made it happen. I took my oath and received my certificate the same day of the interview with my married name.
