Lu9h990 got a reaction from Erik and Glydyl in K1 visa denials
I’m also expecting NOA2 in August, we forgot to send my letter of intent. So I’m also expecting RFE(which is obviously going to make the process at least a month longer). Anyways, I think if you did The background of yourself and showed like there’s nothing out there then you shouldn’t worry about it, I wish you good luck with the process and hope you do not good but RFE but an approval! Thanks for sharing

    Denials:

photos sent in with petition to show "too married for a K1 visa"  or suspicion the couple is married  (Usually an engagement party)
USC withdraws the petition and lets immigrant find out at interview
couple need joint sponsor and can not find one
    immigrant uses fake documents
the security checks on immigrant show criminal activity
the immigrant does not pass the medical exam (TB is one think that can delay or stop the process if the immigrant does not get treatment)
immigrant can not answer questions about the USC ,  the family,  work and life

Those are some but a CO can deny for any reason they see fit

Lu9h990 reacted to Penguin_ie in Negative attitudes in the forum
I wanted to address the negative attitudes we have seen on the rise recently in the upper/ immigration forums towards those who ask beginner/ simple questions, or have unusually fast or slow VisaJourneys.

First, there is a tone difference between the Progress forums- which are mostly for support and cheerleading, and the Info forums, which are mostly to have questions answered.   While all our forums are supposed to be welcoming to all and friendly, this is especially important in the Progress forums, which are not to discuss politics, or be negative towards  those fortunate to have their case dealt with quickly, or  critical of those who voice sadness about their own slow progress. These forums are there to uplift eachother!

Secondly- in the info forums, you may get bad news.  When a question is asked, our members are encouraged to answer truthfully, even if this may not be what the Op wants to hear, because it is important to be informed.  However, the emphasis is still on being welcoming and friendly.  If you need to give bad news, do so gently, and stick to facts; constructive criticism of the Op's plans ARE allowed, but the emphasis is on constructive.  No need to dwell on mistakes (or tell members they should be on 90 Day Fiance- that is a personal attack and automatic suspension), or  illegal actions in the past- instead, encourage and explain legal options for the future.  And ONLY legal options- as per our TOS, VJ does not support, condone or encourage illegal (immigration) actions, and such posts will be removed.

Ultimately, we are here to help all members, old and new, easy cases and complicated, those who write a fact filled bullet point post and those who are panicking and don't make much sense in their first post. Yes, sometimes questions can be easily googled, or answered via a search of our forums.  But if you feel that way, just scroll past- no need to criticise the OP for asking the question.

The visa officer did ask me this: “why you don’t have citizenship yet you been married for so long” (9 years)
I said I already applied for an immigrant visa and we are working on it and she just said ok approved.

It's worth giving it a shot imo. If $160 is a burden, then you probably shouldn't visit anyway. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are in their early 20s and unemployed. Both got B2 visas last summer (to the shock of both me and my wife).

Edited to add: their interview was short, just a few minutes. Basically they were just asked why they wanted to come to the USA (to visit their sister) and when they hoped to visit.

This question has already been answered.

Everyone has different circumstances so not sure why you keep asking.

You fill out the form online and go to the interview, it's very simple.

Your focus should be on your ties to your home country but from what you have posted you don't have any. With a K1 in process, expect a denial.

Yes, you can apply. It takes $160 to find out whether you'll be granted a tourist visa or not. Your chances are higher if you are able to demonstrate to the consulate that you don't have an immigrant intent. Good luck.

    I was approved with a pending IR1

No strong ties whatsoever. Just apply..the worst they will say is “denied”.

I am a Turkish citizen living in Germany for 5 years now. I applied to the American consulate here in Germany.
    They asked three questions
    - how long have you been living in Germany ?
    - what do you do for living ?
    - why do you want to go to the states?

I said i was going to see my fiancé and his family. He simply said it’s approved.
I had some documents with me to prove my “strong ties”. The officer never asked or wanted to see.
There were a few teenagers before me and they are all denied. ( everyone in the room could hear all the conversations between the officer and the applicants )
What i know is every person has a different situation. Prepare yourself for a negative result as well. But I’m hoping you can get it. And get to see your fiancé soon. 🥰
