  1. If you look at the bottom of your timeline page here on VJ. It will give you an estimate as to when you can expect NOA2, if you are past that date. call USCIS and open an out of status inquiry. It helped speed up my son's case and now both are at NVC and processing there. His priority date was Jan 22 2020.  Good luck to everyone!

Good day everyone.. I wanted to find out what does (CASE is being Actively reviewed by Uscis) means because it has been 7months + after filing for I-130. Thank you

It means your case should be approved in a few days, ours went from actively being reviewed to approved in 2 days for our son, good luck!

Congrats! How did you send an inquiry?  I'm an April 2020 filer but they blocked my calls and messages with my case number saying it's not out of processing time yet

Do a google search for case status online. When you get to case status online, in the upper right hand corner is an icon called tools, click on it, you will see a self service tab, click on e-request and send in the form for case out of status inquiry. Good luck

I called and opened a new inquiry as to why his case is out of status, and received a reply almost immediately, that they are actively reviewing his case and I noticed on case status inquiry it also changed to actively being reviewed so hopefully will hear some news soon. Good luck to everyone

We got NOA2 on his case today, Jan 8th, so is good news and now on to NVC to catch up to his mother's case.

If you are out of status I suggest you send an inquiry into why with USCIS

    Good Luck

I wish they would finish my son's case, his pd is Jan 21 2020, and I was told 10 days ago he is out of status, I will call later to file a new case inquiry and see what the hold up is. Good Luck

I keep hearing Potomac is working on January cases. Don’t know if it’s just many of people who are listed as Jan are joining and not enough data to conclude. I’ve seen random months get selected so.

Some of those are very odd and weird question to ask:

What things does your fiance dislike about his work?

What is his job? How is his day? Describe his job?

What do we typically argue about?

The jobs question are down right idiotic, My fiance wouldn't have any clue how to answer that

Then asking what we typically argue about?  That odd as well

Does the CO hire a spy/and phone tap the petitioner phone to gain insight on his work and job?

I guess in Vietnam you must have some arguments to make a relationship

So weird the question, and thanks for posting them.  I figured they would ask just generic question like where did you  meet? Etc

There is no way the CO could know if the beneficiary was being truthful or even had a clue on some of the questions being asked in Vietnam.

I myself think they are great questions, it proves you communicate together. All couples have disagreements in their life. My friend in Singapore a few years ago told me how many ladies were failing their interview on an easy question, "What was the color of your BF/spouse toothbrush?" It's all about proving how well you know each other and communicate.

Congratulations on passing and thanks for posting the questions.

Hello, we filed I-130 in January 15 and they touched our application only ONCE so far (February 11). We have been waiting for 11 months... So frustrating! The Case History of USCIS site shows "Invalid Date Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed". Does anyone have the same issue?

Mine has said that for months now and still nothing has happened, Jan 22 PD

  9. My PD date is January 22, nothing since, filed online,  I have spoken to USCIS a few times for and expedite but refused each time, I sent and inquiry email but got a not outside the normal processing times. I spoke to an agent in September that said I should be approved by mid November, and to inquire then, I spoke to an officer in mid November, she would not let me speak to a Tier 2 person. Yet she told me my case was current based on the PD because the website said October 2018 then, and she said delays were from the centers being closed because of Covid-19 for a couple of months. It doesn't make any sense. I spoke to someone the first week of December and was told the case was actively being processed, and if I don't hear anything by Jan 7 to submit another inquiry online. Mine is for my 5 year old step-son, his Mother is approved and at NVC waiting for his to catch up.

What does not make sense is that since Mid March, most countries have not allowed international travel so there should not be many new cases filed if you have not met your fiancee yet or married since then. The number of new cases should have dropped and the older ones should be approved faster. Good luck to everyone.

    Hello,

We are preparing for interview on 11/16 as well. Could you expand on questions 3/4/5? Seems like those might be targeted at couples of Vietnamese descent.. perhaps looking to make sure they're not bringing their family member over under marriage visa?

It has more to do with the immigration fraud case in Houston Texas a couple of years ago. 94 Vietnamese people were arrested. I have not heard the results of the case yet

Good luck with your upcoming interview!

  11. this has been happening quite frequently lately, I think at all the service centers. Its frustrating but nothing can really be done and calling anymore is about impossible with the robot calls now., Eventually all things will get better hopefully. Good Luck

  12. It's good news that they are sending some new files over. Eventually the ones they have here already will be cleared up and new ones sent. Not sure about you attending the interview as Vietnam is not relaxing it's visa requirements to get into the country, is still a mandatory 14 day quarantine. Good luck with everything
