  1. OldUser above mentioned that sadly it is not a given at all that they will conduct a combo, especially if the invitation is only for N-400. Having I-751 pending is already a sufficient reason to not approve both on the spot. Then you say they did not have your ROC folder on hands to work with it. Also the officer may not have the right Tier credentials to conduct both. Anyhoo CONGRATS to her for passing N-400. Just a waiting game with I-751 now.
  2. Congrats, you’ll nail it. Means CA offices are working with October filers already, great news. @sashsash Is it a cute corgi puppy you’re holding? I also have one, mine is 5yo now 🥰
  3. She’ll pass with flying colors, just gotta remember the answers which she will 🙌🏻
  4. Hi everyone. I’m an October 2021 filer and sent my N-400 this Oct. What’s the dealio with everyone being so concerned to make sure they start studying civics the sooner the better? Unless I’m missing out something everything is pretty straight forward with these 100 questions. Do you need to reply short and to a point? If so there is really nothing to study. I uploaded an app for training to only realize I already know the whole bunch from what they ask anyways, not to brag or anything. If they need the whole essay type for an answer then it’s a different thing. Do they require that? Thanks
  5. Thanks! There is really no way to know and it does not really matter. I certainly would feel weird to be applying for citizenship right after getting an RFE, in that case I would opt out to wait to resolve my RFE and then file N-400. But now it’s lined up as is, meant to be.
  6. You’d think so, huh 🙈 Things happen, I understand, sorta, and now just have to deal with what I have on my plate. Answering your question - YES, I did file my N-400 a day later as a cushion after my window opened despite the popular opinion here to wait for I-751 to be processed because WAC seems to be working on October filers currently and “why disrupt the process”. Honestly I’m glad to not have waited to file for N-400. I filed on Oct 17 and exactly a week later my case for I-751 got an update saying that they sent an RFE. I can’t know if it was just a coincidence time-wise and they were working on October filers anyways and sent me an RFE or maybe they noticed in the system that I filed for N-400 and decided that it’s time to speed up, don’t really wanna speculate on that. The outcome would still be the same - getting an RFE as they seem to be missing the whole bunch of papers we sent…Surely they did not send me an RFE just because I frustrated them being impatient and filing my N-400 before any I-751 approval 🙂 P.S. Good luck to you, we live not too far away seems like, both are OAK…just different oaks 😂 OAKland-OAKley 🙃
  7. That’s what I plan, yes. Should I provide a copy of the last Oct 2021 cover letter along with the new one to let them know we’ve sent all the documents previously or not bother?
  8. Finally just got an RFE via snail mail, been anxiously expecting since when they sent it Friday. Nothing out of the ordinary - seems like they have lost the whole bunch of papers we sent in. After reading posts here it only happens oh so often. I’m not really surprised. They transport cases from PO Box of a one state to the office of another. USCIS states we provided only several photographs and tax returns for 2020, which is not true at all, the list was significantly longer. Allotted time to respond: by Jan 16. Even though they ask NOT to send copies of previously submitted documents I assume I should treat it as they never seen those missing docs and provide them again + all the new docs for the last year I might gather.
  9. @Oroski Oi, tudo bem? We all would love to hear from you whether there is any UPLIFTING update on your matter. Found this thread of yours and am really-really sorry you have to cope with all of this. Sending assertive vibes!
  10. Have you received a bio reuse notice for N-400? In all irony I’ve seen the stats are that people whose biometrics were reused for I-751 end up with bio reuse for N-400 too, and the ones who had to go do biometrics for I-751 still get invitations for N-400 bio, yet again 🤔 Dunno, maybe related to how well your fingerprints lines can be read or something, go figure.
  11. That’s a good sign, you may be lined up for your naturalization before you know it ☺️
  12. I may be wrong but I believe all naturalizations are being processed at NBC(National Benefits Center). Also you can surely find that info on your notice of action - either top or bottom part. And your local field office(where the interview is supposed to be held) is easy to identify by typing your zip code on your USCIS website. The expected processing time is really irrelevant and often jumps back and forth. However if you’re still curious you should be able to see that info as soon as you login into MyUscis account 🙌🏻
  13. Hi. I know this is a long shot and you may not be around on this website anymore but I’d give it a try and ask. What did you end up sending to them and how did your pending petition for I-751 resolve? Ty @Hannah_NYC I’m currently expecting my RFE and don’t know yet what they ask for. Trying to mentally prepare for that.
  14. I had the same - don’t pay attention. I surmise it was a delayed e-mail notification. We get one right after we file as a NOA(case received) and the second “We’ve taken an action on your case. Sign In to see…“ was for Biometrics Reuse. That’s my best bet. Date twinkies here 🙌🏻 All the data just like yours from Oct 17. What will be your local field office for the interview? @NorthByNorthwest
  15. Indeed, I’d even say it’s a matter of luck anywhere in the States with USCIS. Go figure how they process all of it 😁 Anyhoo good luck to all of us!
  16. Current processing times are irrelevant and pretty useless to begin with. I’m also reading forum here alright and real experience determines that citizenship for SF local field office takes 4 to 8 months. I’m certainly not waiting until the end of the year to file…
  17. I’m not opposed to good reasoning on why worth to wait, if you can elaborate. I’m all ears. What really are the benefits of waiting? Hypothetically I file N-400 and then in most cases they do a combo interview, it’s not a given but that’s what happens. Interview for naturalization occurs anyways - civics, reading/writing, answering questions regarding your application. Potentially we are looking for 2 interviews - one for I-751 and another one for citizenship as oppose to 1 combo interview altogether. What am I missing here? Help me out.
  18. Yeah. Fingers crossed but I think I’m still filing for N-400 today as it seems like my husband is more eager and keeps asking me if I already submitted my application 😁 Not sure if waiting another week to see if something changes with I-751 makes sense 🤷🏼‍♀️ Probably just gonna go in the direction of the wind.
  19. March 11 must have been a batch day for WAC. My case was received on Oct 28, but fingerprints been reused exactly just like in your case - on March 11 😊
  20. My service center is WAC as well. Gives me hope to get some good news soon 🙌🏻
  21. I have read about this too. People do recommend to wait at least a day, a few or a week. My eligibility window opens up a day ahead of yours so I’ve decided to apply just a day later, on 17th to avoid any time zone issues. Someone mentioned USCIS payment processing system is in HI.
  22. Parabéns!!! What’s your local field office and have you already applied for citizenship?
  23. Do you live overseas or in the US? I believe they dropped this requirement long time ago and don’t ask to upload any passport photos online. Everything they need biometrics-wise(including photos) they will either invite you for an appt again or reuse your biometrics from previous petitions you may have filed, like I-751 for instance.
