It could be that anytime somebody at USCIS opens a case this message is generated. It's possible they opened the file, checked it and closed without approving or doing anything else.

This is very important question which determines whether OP should be filing I-90 at all or needs to focus on I-751.

Where does this expectation come from? Half of the times no notification sent even with correctly filed G-1145 form. In a sister thead people waiting for updates for over a month. Pretty much all cases filed after some point in 2023 start with IOE. This means they're in electronic system. This is why you'd see documents in your USCIS account. 4-8 weeks after your packet was delivered to USCIS. Extension letter, NOA1, notice of action, receipt is all the same names for the same document.

There's definitely bias towards men and especially men from certain countries. They generally require more proof, so WAVA case needs to be super strong.

Ideally, the name change should have taken place at N-400 stage to simplify immigration process. The biggest issue you will have is with airlines and authorities overseas.

Many airlines would not board with the copy either, so she has to have original from the moment she boards the plane to entering the US and interacting with CBP.

You can and should use Global Entry to enter the US. It will be faster this way. As to no problems, nobody can guarantee this. But you probably will have minimal issues if any.

That's good news. Meaning you don't have to go to biometrics appointment. My approx timeline was: Filed Nov 2021 Biometrics reused April 2022 Case Approved August 2023 So there may be a delay between biometrics and next steps.

If you worked part time while at college in the last five years, then list it. If it was over 5 years ago, it's not needed on the form.

The form asks for employment history in the last five years. Were you employed at the time of filling the form minus 5 years? E.g. between June 2019 and now. If not, leave it blank.

It's hard to pull this off because there's no official process once I-751 is pending. You can write a letter to USCIS asking for it. The chances are, you'd be ready to naturalize and you won't have GC in the new name at that time. Things take forever at USCIS. Add a thing such as name change in the middle of the process and it can take eternity. From purely immigration process standpoint, it's the worst time to change the name while I-751 is pending. In other words, this is the place you sleep at night. The actual physical location. You cannot call your friend's address that place. In addition, don't forget, the burden of proof is on you. If your car is not registered at the address, if you don't pay the utility bills at the address, if your your and wife's IDs doesn't show this address (this is typically one of the first questions at the interview) - you're not going to have a smooth ride. This is why I highly recommend following the steps to ensure there's no denial: - Establish a firm physical address in the US - Get all the IDs, other evidence updated to that address - Live there for 3 months - Apply for N-400 I'm not a lawyer, but based on how I understand the law, your case will be in trouble if you don't take steps to overcome these potential issues. The problem is majority of banks use AI for fraud detection. And those systems rarely have any input until and unless there's open issue. Bank people on the phone can give you all reassurance they won't flag it, put a note etc. But half of the time it's a little lie to get you off the phone. Surely many people paid their fees just fine using CC. But there's so many reporting issues compared to using checks. The only issue with checks is when people use wrong amounts or don't have the funds in the account. And those reports pale in comparison to declined CC reports on VJ.

I'm not an expert in this field either. N-400 instructions say the applicant should reside for 3 months in a district or state before applying. My suggestion for OP is to: - Come back to the US - Pick one place for residence, file AR-11, and wait for 3 months. - File N-400 while living there - Naturalize while living there In my opinion, having friend's address doesn't help because USCIS is interested in physical address. If OP lived in RV moving around (no stable address) and now filing from overseas, I cannot see how the residence requirement is fullfiled.
