  1. You don’t need a lawyer. This from someone who hired lawyer before stumbling upon this site, and for exact same reason: not to make mistake.I do understand that lawyers can be helpful but this whole notion that they are absolutely necessary is nonsense, and greed plain and simple.
  2. Written consent from whom? Is it necessary if she was alone with him abroad? Just curious.
  3. We are snowed in again, here in NYC, and we generally act as we don’t do not live in an area with four distincive seasons, meaning snow happens every year but here it gets acted out as if it a major centenial event. Any dusting will cause flight cancelation, just something for you to bear in mind.
  4. 3 hours minimum and that is tight. Take in cosideration: weather conditions, both from the original departure airport to the final destination. it’s not uncommon for flights to be late from start, for no particual reason. Custom clearance at the POE. She is with the child and she needs extra time. Most flights start boarding an hour before. There will be a lot of pressure on her with a trip as is, no need to add on it.
  5. I was updating my last name the second time. Both times I just brought my itinerary. $170 in 2019.
  6. What state are you in? Here in New York we have few offices that process passports in 24hours. I managed to get my passport in a day. Also for my then seven year old, since she had a baby picture in her passport😁
  7. Sorry for the late response, I just saw this. I was , trying to include the USCIS link where it states it in the detail about conditions of sponsorship, joint sponsors, combining assets. It’s not a glitch, it’s as Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, nicely put: “ It’s probably me.”
  8. Makes sense and definitely a better scenario with two of you there. Thanks, I was just curious. Best of luck, wishing you smooth sailing through it, and maybe it will possibly serve as a great proof once the tourist visa interview comes along. Best of luck in both cases.
  9. Neither did I. I repeated her story, the situation she mentioned.
  10. Single unacomanied men trying to enter illegaly in the US, as you say. Why do you think the situation will be different in SF then in Mexico City?
  11. Yeah, they look like they take it with nokia 3310. Or a calculator..
  12. Yes, but significally shorter then k1, retrying for tourist, and transparent.
  13. Another vote for spousal, and in your case zoom through Utah: You are the US citizen and you can use that option, no need to bother with Thailand as both of you being foreigners, also more simple than the Phillipines, since both of you are not there. So use the situation that you can already benefit from, no need for extra steps, expenses. Etc. You are together already so you can file I-130 right right after you get the certificate. The spousal will enable all the unlimited traveling and living abroad, basically your then wife will have the same status as you. Focus on a sponsor for the NVC stage, start now even if it will take a while, since you have been out of the country and confirm your residence etc.
  14. This is not a red flag, this is red carpet, even if the red is is your favorite color. Your fiance is corrupted by power, albeit short term and insignificant one in a longer game that life is, what a fool. Stories like this make my blood boil, best of luck to you.
  15. Wait it up, it is a money well spent and it will be worth it. You are almost there.
  16. Our first active review was once the NOA1 was finally mailed. Second one came 11 and half months later.
  17. You will slay this because giving up is simply not an option. Never surrender. We didn’t. Keeping you in my duas.
  18. Fresh from the local DMV ( New York) GC being delivered via priority mail with my husband’s name and our address clearly stated, social security number as well, was not sufficient proof of address, but me, scribbling his name and mailing an empty envelope through regular mail is. Just in case someone is at this step.
  19. Spousal visa is far more superior, research it before you make a final decision. Also financial co-sponsor, start thinking and planning that out, either way you go. Best of luck
  20. DV is green card on the entrance, but it’s a lottery, so you have as much chance as the other guy. Spousal is also a green card on the entrance. K1: you wait as long as for the spousal but no green card on the entrance. The waiting game starts then. No freedom to work, travel etc. Separation from your significant other is a due process in all three situations. Maybe it makes more sense laid out like this.
