This is a relatively old post and I'm just beginning the visa process this January, but...
She shares my hobbies, trusts me and has a great sense of humor. Sometimes, she expresses worry over losing me, but I reassure her i'll never leave. I'm 5 years older and have more life experience than her, so I also have a good opportunity to help her grow as a person too. Before I met her, I felt a little directionless. I didn't have any truely long-term goals, aside from "Go to college, get a better job, etc".
Ever since I met her, my knowledge of so many topics has expanded. In a sense, she has ignited my entire life and indirectly encouraged me to better myself. Also, she and I play lots of video games together. lol

She has remained the same lovely gal for our nearly 10 years of marriage

Hey there, so me and her are getting married in Canada. I'm so excited. This is the first step. I was thinking of flying her out here to visit anyway, so no worries. I really gave what you said some thought and found a way to get her here with minimal hassle. (Thank God for the lifting covid restrictions).
I will be flying to st Louis in September and bringing her back early October. I have money set aside to pay for her flights back as well.

Adding onto my previous statement. They have a team of dietitians, physicians, nurses, etc. They all work together and have known about my journey getting better. They've been regularly updating everyone, and have been really happy. Back in october or november, I recall my physician at the program stating that I finally "Got my sh*t together". Literal quote. lmao.
I attend regular outpatient meetings, but I kinda lost track of time and haven't been there since november. So far I've been good. With regards to eating, I was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, and if you saw how much I was eating in the past few months, you'd know I'm fine lol. My issue was never even a cycle, either. I would describe it as a rough patch or slow start, where I was a bit unsure about what I wanted to do. Now, of course, I have a goal in mind, and I want to follow that through.
I am currently 24 at the moment.

I regularly attend outpatient meetings, where they report my progress and document everything. They have a chart and everything for me. I regularly attend 1-1 meetings with a nurse practioner/therapist and a physician. They know me really well, and the last time I saw them, they were so insanely happy with how I had slowly gotten better and improved over the past year and a half. I will ask them to provide a note indicating my recovery.

As long as you, your fiance and her family is aware, then it seems you have the bases covered.

The immigration process tends to be very stressful.  Planning what you can and setting realistic expectations for processing times tend to help.  Glad you found someone you care about and it seems they care about you as well.  Good luck!

Yes, we looked into that too. The job would be something I would get into after I submit the necessary documents and get approved

No problem, thanks for the advice!! . She just informed me that they file taxes jointly. They have a big family, so her dad wouldn't be enough on his own, but he is married. My thought is that it'll appear on the tax return, since they apparently file jointly.
He's like 5 thousand off of the household requirements going by his hourly wage and yearly income. I'm a very anxious man when there's something really important to me. I lose a lot of sleep over this stuff lol. I actually traveled outside of my province and country, on my own, for the first time when I went to see her. The entire relationship with her has been the absolute definition of a journey.

Your fiancée and her parents fill out I-134 forms and you provide these to the consulate.

    Good to know.
Thanks for the swift reply. I'm going to shoot a quick email to the US consulate in Montreal and I'll do some additional research just to be on the safe side.
Me and her are really good together, and her step mom and father are 100% willing to help.
I have a plan for the period where I'm applying for permanent residency as well, should everything go according to plan.
I've had to do a lot of research on the united states, because I previously had no interest until my met her lol. She's the first person that truly made me feel like I had a drive to do something. I feel this motivation that extends beyond just simple urges. It's a genuine desire to build a life and contribute to society that I never had before.
