Hi All, we are prepping for our interview and our interview coach says it may look suspicious that we are choosing to get married in the US and not in India. He says why the girls parents would be okay with sending her to US without being married.
Has anyone heard of this and what should we say to assure them it’s not fraudulent? -

Oh wow. I've not received any physical mail since my NOA 2 lol. Just emails which is faster anyway.
Haha yeah Indians prefer the old school
method of doing things. But the steps were already available online so the notice was kinda redundant. I’m betting some of the other embassy’s are more efficient with this stuff and it’s not as messy as the Mumbai embassy. The volume here is just ridiculous.

I emailed the Embassy and two days later I received my packet 3 and the green light to schedule my interview.
Not sure if similar but the Indian embassy sent a physical notice with instructions to schedule the interview.

The 129f approved letter and instructions just got to my fiancés house but the date shows it expires on December 1st. It’s impossible to get the process finished since there is no date even available for interview. Do anyone know what we would do in this scenario?
The PCC takes 3 weeks by itself.

Honestly, I'm sorry that this is happening to you, too. But it does make me feel a little better that I'm not the only one getting pulled around. I bet there are a bunch of others too.
Very similar thing happened to me guys. Different responses from USCIS vs NVC.
My papers show ready on CEAC yesterday and said my documents were assigned a number September 29th but didn’t get sent to embassy till oct 25th. Essentially I waited ~3 months since my approval on August 3rd. -

I have some questions if you can answer. Thank you,
1. Where to get the PCC, from the Passport office or police station?
2. What other documents are needed?
3. Can you schedule your visa appointment without getting a letter from the consulate?4. DS-160 we need to fill after medical and PCC? or can we fill it out any time.
Do you have an interview date yet?
I was under the assumption we sign up for an interview date.
The CEAC says it’s in transit and NVC assigned a date but I don’t see the date on the letter they emailed me.

Also curious, i see the list of items needed for the appt and it has one for financial support. If my fiancé has a job, does I need to fill a f134 of financial support for her? It seems redundant but I could be wrong.
I see the medical exam also has the vaccines. A prior member mentioned biometrics but I don’t see that as a requirement on there. Are biometrics needed?7 hours ago, Parallel Oddling said:I decided to answer yes, my fiancee also only has record of the covid vaccine. Honestly, I feel that it doesn't really matter (whether its yes or no) as the day of the medical examination the physician will get them squared away in terms of vaccinations.
Just make sure the covid vaccine she has is approved by either the CDC or the WHO as they will not let them on the plane.
-
Hi All, I’m filling out my finances DS-160 and the only question I am concerned about is the vaccination record. She had the covid vac card but not older vaccines. Should I answer yes or no to this question?
”Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with US laws?”

My case is finally being sent to the embassy!! Literal tears as the weight is lifted after such a long time.
God has really tested my patience and now it’s the home stretch.
Im praying the rest of you guys get emails with good news today as well!
noa 2 August 3rd
Actually looked at the case number and found they assigned the case number Sept 28th so they must have received it before the quoted date of Oct 4th from USCIS.

WT* man. I was approved on August 3rd and still don’t have anything even with the online inquiry form. Really upsetting. These people absolutely suck. I wish I did the marriage route at this point. Save myself a year and a half.

honestly i also think everyone is getting the same response from nvcresearch, cause i also was told by uscis that our case wasn’t out yet. and yet nvc is saying the opposite
Funny thing I got this response from nVCresearch on sept 23rd but USCIS said NVC got it on Oct4. I’m thinking the difference is when NVC get it to when NVC enter it into the system. Once they enter it into the system, then they ping USCIS that it is received.
-
Called the USCIS and they said our case was received on Oct 4th. We got approved on August 3rd so it’s quite a wait.
Praying our papers get sent to embassy on Oct 25th and I can go to india to be with her. -

Hello,
I wanted to ask a question. I received my NOA2 about 2 and half months ago (2022-08-02) and haven't received any letter from the NVC. I wanted to know when I would received a letter from them and how long it's taking to get that letter. If you have any other insight that would be helpful.
Thank you
How did you find out your case was sent?
my case was approved a day after yours but I haven’t heard anything yet.
-
Hello All, is anyone aware if we need the NOA2 notice of the 129f approval?
The Usps seems to have lost the document and to get another copy is 465$. It would appear that document doesn’t have any necessary information on it as long as the case does progress to the NVC and embassy.
will we need it when we go for the interview or anywhere else?
-
Called the USCIS today and begged them to give me more info and finally got some info.
After our case was approved on August 3rd, they sent the case to NVC on August 29th, a whole 26 days after approval.
Given a month to net the case and another 2 weeks to make the case number, they should be sending our case to Mumbai in the next batch (I’m hoping). Extremely disappointed they waited so long to send the case to NVC. Time is precious and these people seem to think we have tons of it.Does anyone have any guesses on how much lead time is from being sent to NVC to embassy? I would assume 45 days or less?
-
Leaning on some knowledge here.
My case was approved on August 3rd but has still not been sent to the embassy in India.
Does anyone have possible reasons this may happen other than just a slow NVC?I’ve seen another case approved on August 18 get sent to UAE so I know they are processing cases.
One thought maybe that the embassy in Mumbai is slow or backed up due to holidays in India. -

Received our NVC case number, here is the timeline so far (took 54 days from NOA2 to get case number):
The case was created on September 28 (based on the case number and using the calendar trick), so it took roughly two weeks for the creation and being sent off to Embassy/Consulate. As of writing this, status is still showing "in Transit".
August 18, 2022 - NOA2
September 19 - Sent inquiry to NVC (using online inquiry form), got an automated response that they will respond according to the published time frames. Asked to update our emails, provided USCIS case #, DoB, etc.
September 19 - Sent email to nvc inquiry@state.gov asking for updates with our case, got a generic automated reply to use the online Inquiry Form
September 22 - Sent an email to nvc research @state.gov whether our case had been received or if still at USCIS
September 27 - nvc research @state.gov replied confirming that the case had been received "recently" and awaiting entry into their system
October 10 - Received email from NVC (do_not_reply address) that the case is in transit to the Embassy/Consulate and provided case number.
Lessons learned from this or for anyone in the future, your best bet is to email the nvc research address as they are very quick in responding to inquiries (I would suggest you wait at least 30 days after NOA2 before submitting any inquiry to them). I would still use the online inquiry form to make sure they have both email addresses (note: even though I submitted both our emails in ALL of the inquiries, even CC the beneficiary email, she has yet to receive any emails only I have as the petitioner).
Also worth noting is that I did not utilize any congressional help, I was thinking about it had another two weeks passed without a case number.
Does when a case is sent to an embassy have anything to do with embassy specific case load? Example would be if the UAE embassy has less load they can get cases from NVC faster than a embassy for India which has a heavy case load. That’s the only reason I can think of for a delay if the case has already reached NVC.

Hey guys, my case got approved on August 29. It’s been 44 days so long from our approval. I tried to send a email to NVCresearch so many times and always the same answer: “The National Visa Center (NVC) has not yet received your petition from USCIS” so I’m just trying to understand how long they’re taking to send cases to NVC? If is normal what I’ve been going through because at this point Im getting worried. My fiancé called USCIS as well and they keep on saying the same thing about 90 days the total to be sent.
Is there anyone in the same situation?
Kinda the same situation except when I emailed the nVCresearch they said it’s received and awaiting entry into the system. Mine was approved on August 3rd so your not far behind.
-
Just tried the Emma chat feature and I got some very disappointing news.
The agent stated the case, which was approved on August 3rd, has not been received by the NVC yet. When I contacted the NVCresearch email, they said they had received it and awaiting entry into their system.
Has anyone experienced this? I’m hoping the issue is that the case is received but just awaiting entry to be “received” by USCIS standards.
-
Alright guys, it mail week and I’m praying everyone, along with myself, get some good news! It’s been 67 days since NOA2 for me so I am getting very anxious myself!

Do you think I could get the information from them (USCIS) via chat instead of calling, would it make a difference?
Dude the chat is useless. It will literally just send you information but won’t give you case specific information. You still have to talk to an agent for that.

Hi All, is anyone aware of the next few dates of cases going to embassies? I know cases went out on 9/27 so I’m assuming it will be 10/11 next.
My case was approved 8/3 and I’m still waiting on the case number and welcome letter.
-
I sent an email to NVCResearch@state.gov on Wednesday and got a response that my case is waiting entry into the system. While not an ideal response, it’s good to know it has gotten there and they should be getting to it soon.
it was approved August 3rd so I’m hoping EOM September letter.

Hi, it took almost 80 days as well for my case to be sent. Timelines vary to be honest. Some get sent faster and some slower.
