  1. Thanks

Yes, but if you pay attention to little words like "or" you know that a complete federal tax return copy is also acceptable.  For you, the year you sponsor an immigrant is not the year to delay filing your tax return.
  2. Thanks

If he's single, no children, and never sponsored any other immigrant, then in this context his household is 2.  That's HIM and the immigrant he is sponsoring.
  3. Haha
Karen2021 got a reaction from Diane Owino in I-864 Principal Immigrant's Mailing Address
I apologize for asking these very basic and seemingly unnecessary questions but my sponsor was asking me why his "household" would be considered 2 when he is single. When I first looked at the question it was quite simple: the 1 is already there for "Yourself" and then we add another 1 for Immigrant and then we total it (2) as the form states, but he sort of overthinks it. Sorry.
  4. Thanks

Yes, that's what the instructions say.  You're studying the instructions for this "most complicated form in the process" RIGHT?

  5. Thanks

You have a year between official contacts.  Timing is not an issue.
Yourself is the sponsor.  If you follow the instructions and complete the section properly, the correct total will autopopulate.

Moving forward with immigration and with life, when you see a question on a form, read it carefully, interpret it literally, and answer it accurately.  Those are words to live by.

No mail is generated by the I-864.  The immigrant will also provide current and past addresses on the DS 260.  Be accurate.  The only thing sent to an address of the immigrant is their passport with the visa in it after interview.  They will provide an address for the courier to deliver.

Answer the questions that are asked in the context and tense they are asked.

If it's all the same to you and them, choose the employed one.  You cannot "add" another joint sponsor but you can replace one.

It's a present tense question.  Answer in the present tense.

Looks like you read the instructions.  Interpret them literally.  Do not make arbitrary additions to them.

Yes, but you can submit all three if you think it will help.

Birth certificate, passport, or both sides of a green card.  See instructions items 11a-11c
Primary sponsors/petitioners do not have to provide this because they have already done so.  Joint sponsors do.

If OP is able to file 2022 taxes now, that would be good.  If the 2022 transcripts are not yet available, submit a copy of the filed tax returns (1040 + W2 + 1099 + all schedules).

If they are not able to file 2022 taxes yet, it's ok to use the 2021 transcripts as the latest tax filing if OP is able to submit the case for NVC review before April 18, 2023.

Chancy, would it be advise for for them to wait until they 2022 taxes, because tax season just started, and if they wait until the new transcript it would be the 2022 version.
I'm not sure if that been mention..

Not everyone has online access to their transcripts, so form 4506-T was mentioned.  If you are able to download your return transcripts from the IRS site, that's fine.  No need to send the form.

Yes, but it so much simpler to just submit a pay stub.

If you select "Immigration" as the reason for needing a transcript from IRS.gov, the page will highlight the Return Transcript.

As @pushbrk pointed out in your previous thread, best to get the details from the I-864 instructions -- https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864instr.pdf

Page 8 lists examples of evidence of income you may submit.  Page 9 tells you that assets are not required if you already meet the income requirement.  If you do need to use assets, it details the documentation to include about the value of the assets.

I would add that for an employed person, evidence of current income would be a pay stub.

The above is correct, but before filling out anything, become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions.  That's critical to your ultimate success.
