  1. No effect - it is a permitted use of the VWP scheme. As long as he is honest at the port of entry about his intentions and doesn’t overstay the VWP period, there is no reason it would affect future entries/plans.
  2. Does your phone run an eSIM? Better yet does it run two esims? Personally I wouldn’t rely on Mint in the UK - I am a Mint customer and have never got the data to work when I am abroad. Your mileage may vary as I am pretty rural in the UK. If you can run an eSIM, I’d recommend Gigsky or Nomad for data only roaming esims. Both me and my wife have used those when abroad. I don’t know how their cost compares to Mint. Or if you can run two esims, get yourself a GiffGaff eSIM when you are back. Easily enough data for a £10 top up. This is what I do now.
  3. 2/28 - package sent 3/5 - status changed online to received 3/6 - received text message 3/7 - cheque cashed and some of package available to view online 3/8 - Biometrics reuse and extension letter available online (Nebraska Service Centre) 3/15 - Biometrics reuse letter received in mail 3/18 - Extension letter received in mail
  4. I have been thinking the same thing - I’m also at Nebraska. I guess there are just so many variables for each case, even including whether your case gets ‘bumped’ by filing N-400.
  5. I wouldn’t worry. AP is a valid document to travel with. The risk of anything going wrong is low, and anything weird that did happen would be fixable. FYI: AP can take a long time to arrive after filing. Hopefully yours will be quick.

  8. Sent mine just now. It feels so good to have it off my desk
  9. All good advice above. Maybe check your local credit union too. I was able to get a ‘secured’ credit card. Basically you lodge cash with the bank and they extend you a credit card with a limit equal to the cash you lodged. I was able to do this with no income of my own. Another great way to build credit
  10. I don't have a specific answer, but you're going to need to look at the laws of that state that you are planning on living in. Gambling is regulated at a state level and the laws in the US are therefore a patchwork. Remember, if you decide to keep them, interest earned will be taxable in the US even though it isn't in the UK. I imagine that you would also need to report them on your FBAR return each year.
  11. Thanks, I was leaning this way. The other thing in my mind was upsetting someone having to scan in like 100 pages of Amex fee statements. I guess you can’t win either way!
  12. What are people’s thoughts on the completeness of documents you send? Eg. If a bank statement has ‘page 1/10, 2/10’ etc printed right on it, should you include all 10 pages even if some of them aren’t relevant? Trying to balance sending useless paper with them worrying I am hiding something.
  13. Good advice. Yes I was aware it really only works if they are with other people, which is an interesting change from K-1 where photos together are totally fine. Nevertheless, I'll try and cobble together as many as possible. I wish we were people who took photos as a habit, but we just aren't.
  14. How many photographs are you guys including? We aren't really big photo people. I was thinking around 6-8.
  15. February 2024 is finally here! Will be filing to remove conditions towards the end of the month! Good luck to all those in a similar position! May we all be blessed with a smooth and RFE-free (even if long) journey!
  16. Going through putting my package together at the moment. The instructions do clearly state evidence should include affidavits from people who know you. I know that they are weak evidence, but since they are one of the few things explicitly called out by the instructions, I will probably be including a couple. Not saying this to be a pedant, just something that has been nagging at me recently. Otherwise, looks similar to mine. Good luck!
  17. Agree! I would guess the main line was 1-2hrs long when I went through recently. That is interesting. I had assumed they had just completely pivoted to facial recognition. Interesting that they run both simultaneously.
  18. I recently entered ORD with my conditional Green Card and used global entry. I didn’t have to scan my Green Card (or even passport), the kiosk just took and picture of my face and then a CBP agent called my name, gave me a custom ticket and waved me through. This was the process for everybody in the Global Entry corral. It got me thinking: does this mean the conventional wisdom that Global Entry doesn’t work with a RoC extension letter (or rather, without a valid machine readable Green Card) is no longer current? I have to say it was an incredibly smooth process. After a decade plus of automated passport control in Europe for a variety of foreign passport holders, this really felt like a huge step up.
