    1. G-1145 form (free) if you want to get notification when petition is received by USCIS.

    2. I wouldn't recomment cashier's check or especially credit card for payment. Cashier's check - because you don't know when it's used by USCIS. Credit card because transaction can get denied. Personal check is the best in my opinion (as long as you keep required $$$$ in checking account). This way you would know when USCIS cashes it. This gives you an idea your case was accepted.

    Good luck!

    Perfect, got it. Thanks 👍🏾

    No, no at all

At the very moment of typing this answer, that is correct.

    They change often.

Do your due diligence and check the I485 direct filing addresses link on the forms website on the day you mail it.

Also helpful is joining your month's VJ AOS filing thread where you can get help from your filing peers about the basics.

Why? That info will be current.

Whereas two years from now, if a newbie finds this thread the answer may be false.

OK thanks. We will be mailing our application tomorrow 🙏🏿

  3. Well today is a great day. I woke up to an email from Naples Consolate with all the instructions we need and we scheduled our interview for November 29. Just 11 days away. We are elated and feeling extremely blessed!

    Whoohoo! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I would definitely NOT schedule the interview without prior authorization from the Embassy. Our case was showing ready since October 13th, kept emailing (both from the petitioner and beneficiary) the Embassy about possible next steps and they would reply back with "wait for further instructions". And we finally got an email (which only included 4 attachments) on November 15th to schedule the interview (so exactly a month) for December 6th which was the closest available. Note that I had already filled out the DS-160, paid the MRV fee and scheduled the courier pick up BUT did not schedule the interview. I only did the above (MRV fee, courier pick up) so that I can see potential dates for the interview so your country Embassy may be different and may not let you do those things.

When you email the Embassy, do they reply back with an automated response or do they say something along the lines of what I mentioned above? Are you able to at least view open/available appointment slots like I mentioned?

I think at this point its a waiting game, how long it takes them to respond depends on the backlog. Our Embassy at UAE are taking case loads from the Afghan refugees as well as some Iranian cases so I was surprised they got back to us in a month. Good Luck

Apologies for the confusion, each country and its embassy is different so the MRV fee (non-immigrant visa fee) which can be paid online or at the embassy on the day of the interview and the courier pickup (its a location like post office for the passport pick up after interview is completed) may not apply in your situation.

Oh okay yes. We will be paying the MRV fee at the time we schedule our appointment online. Anyways, I really appreciate you responding and sharing your experience. I am very relieved. Just a little wait longer, I pray.

We have a similar timeline too. Wishing you both the very best 🙏🏿🎉

I sent an email on November 11th and received an automated reply. Sorry I'm clueless about the MRV fee and courier pickup...? We completed the DS160 as well. We did not continue with the online registration so we did not see any appointment options. Honestly, no need to tease ourselves. We are already suffering enough with the waiting.

    Thanks so much for responding!

  6. So our status showed ready on November 10, 2022 but we have not yet received our packet. How long does it usually take? Many have said to schedule our own appointment but while we were in the process, the message clearly states NOT to schedule until instructed by the Consulate, otherwise our appointment will be canceled on the day of. We've emailed Naples Embassy and even called the office but still nothing. Most of the people I've reached out to who have had interviews at Naples said that their interview was scheduled for them.

Our petition will expire December 15 which I think is nothing to worry about since everyone is behind.

Just curious, anyone scheduled their own interview before receiving their packet? Did you get this message?

  7. Our interview will be held in Naples Italy. I've heard so many people saying that we can go ahead and schedule our own interview before being notified by the embassy. The instructions clearly state NOT to do that and that the appointment will be canceled. It's only been 4 days since the consolate received our petition so maybe this week will be our week to receive our interview appointment. Hope everyone is hanging in there.

    WHAT A JOURNEY 😑

i wonder If nobody has answered you because this isn’t difficult to figure out yourself. Your bank statement should have a summary of total deposits for the month. Get the most recent 12 statements and add up the deposits. I would make a spreadsheet  showing 12 monthly amounts and a total. Put 12 statements behind it as the evidence.

BANK DEPOSITS - BANK OF AMERICA

    Statament date.   Deposits

    10/31/2022.       $4567.00

    09/30/2022.       $6377.22

    08/31/2022.      $5544.23

    etc

    etc

        TOTAL          $XXXXX.XX

Note: If you have adequate salary/income as shown on a tax return, employer letter, or pay stubs, you shouldn’t need to show bank info too. I am not familiar with your embassy to know what they typically like to see with an I-134.

Thank you for responding. Darn it! You are right. I'm reading the I-134 instructions and it says to provide (from the list) what applies... 😂

Okay, the heck with the bank statements. I have Tax transcripts & employment letter that are sufficient.

    CASE CLOSED!

Have a great day and weekend ahead!

You need to seriously sit down and have a talk with your fiance. There's something he isn't telling you and unless you sort that out, your CR-1 will be another bullet lost.

We see another of cases here from Lagos where beneficiary thinks he'll outsmart Emabsay, blindsides USC and continues to blindside even after denial at embassy.

So best bet, dig into this, lest you waste another time and money.

No one wants to hear this but sincerely, Timona, you are right. People come here with questions and concerns but if you don't give them the answer they like, they will pretend that everything is suddenly OK and that they have it already figured out. Something seems very strange but hey who am I. I'm just a nobody!

  10. Wow, I guess Lagos really is a difficult Embassy! Sorry for those who go all this way just to be denied. It's awful and unfair, I'm sure.

However, people are constantly being approved and have only meet once, many have crazy age gaps of 20+ years, others are only asked 3 questions at their interviews, some don't even have their paperwork examined, I've even heard someone say that the consular asked them "what kind of meat do you have in your refrigerator? "... WHAT DA!!! 😂

All I can testify is that EVERY situation is case by case! I was stressed to the point of feeling sick that we were going to get an RFE because so many others did when we also were guilty of the same things that caused them to get an RFE but guess what? We never got an RFE

One size does NOT fit all! At the end of the day, it depends on the person we come in contact with and their good or bad attitude and the good graces of God.

Best wishes to all. Looking forward to completing this dreadfully, long process and being with my honey pie chocolate drop ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  11. Sometimes I feel my heart breaking as I read  posts where people have been waiting closer to almost 500 days for USCIS to even touch their case, God forbid they get and RFE. It's just awful! Thankful for groups like this which helps to connect people in the same situation and also provide support all the way though. I do believe that things will differently get better.

HANG IN THERE PLEASE AND DON'T GIVE UP. IT'S WORTH THE FIGHT ❤️💪🏾

Once we are united with our love, we need to remember this journey WHEN we face tough times together... Til death do us part...

    Finally Approved!

468 days since filing and 34 days since sending the RFER this big step is completed.

Only strength through God has enabled us to stay strong.

The end result will be worth it.

Amen! Only God 🙏🏿Congratulations to you both. May He continue to help you and bring this while process to completion. And you will never have to look back again!
