Unfortunately having a bit more of a difficult experience than most applicants at the interview stage, so wanted to share with the community.

After being DQ'd end of September, had my interview on 16 November, and was surprised to find out that the original police records (UK and France) I brought along were in fact, copies. That was my mistake, driven mainly by the fact that the French certificate is no longer printed on secured paper so any copy looks like the original. The second part of the interview (interview itself) went well, but I was served with the green notice requiring me to submit the originals.

I immediately traced back the originals to my parent's address in France and had them mail the documents with priority/tracked the day of the interview. Unfortunately what followed was Royal Mail losing the letter with the originals for 3 weeks and being unable to tell me where it was or give me an indicative delivery date - it actually only got delivered today. I ended up requesting new originals from the French and UK police on 23 November which took over a week to arrive due to Royal Mail again (strikes didn't help). I eventually sent the originals by courier earlier this week so hoping for a quick turnaround now. It's been really difficult missing Thanksgiving and being stranded in the UK with no sense of when I was going to get home and reunited with my wife.

Does anybody have a sense of how quickly the embassy turns the documents around in this situation? It seems that most people have been getting their passports back 2-3 days after being accepted during the interview. Should I expect a similar turnaround time or is the 5-10 business days indicated on the green form more realistic?

Also I wasn't able to find out where I can see the status change on CEAC - any help would be appreciated!

Anyway, a lesson for everyone - triple check that your originals are indeed your originals, and have all your docs in one place the whole process!

Hey I just read your post about the French police report. I also have one and only had it sent to me via email. Is this OK? Was your problem not having the original British certificate ? Thanks for your help! And well done 🙂

Any update? you should have been reviewed yesterday, or first up today.

I wonder - what time have people been receiving the DQ email, does it normally come 'right away' or does it seem like they get sent in batches in the evening?

I don't have anyone on my list from Oct 19th (theoretically today's reviews). I hope everyone gets reviewed something like:

    Thursday @MandKF (Oct 20)
    Friday @chuks22 (Oct 21)

    Friday @TayTay2022 (Oct 21)
    Monday @MMDG (Oct 24)

I received the email at around 2.30/3am British time. So around 10pm eastern US time. 🙂

I hope not too!   A easy quick fix would be transparency, this is the only organization that I know of  where you literally beare everything and you know nothing , we're not talking about a house or a car here ,we're talking about your life ,your livelihood  and your family!

it's cringy to hear  people say that if you've been transferred from one SC to another it doesn't affect your application ,yeah sure,  just like they take application in the order received 🤭 ,

when clearly people who have been transferred exactly the same date or  have a PD date later than yours and same country and/or ok different country get approved and then there's no response  to your application then than statement is is bit ... speculative to say the least.

BUT to end on a positive note  , we're one day closer to answer / approval.

I hope WE ALL. hear something soon.  🙏🙏  insh.

It definitely makes a difference being transferred . You will now be on that service center’s trajectory. I think things would be a lot better if all centers worked on the same timeline more or less. There would be less wondering and frustration (myself included) .

anyway I hope everyone is approved soon too ! Good luck

Congrats again on your approval...It's so quiet for i130 VT. I haven't seen or heard any approvals from VT just Texas and CA not even Potomac lately seems like the transfer to VT opposed to TX slowed things down ...just frustrating! Especially with no transparency from the USCIS and no rhyme or reason just theories. Constantly seeing people with PD dates after yours get approvals from different SC is not helpful either... Just to end on a positive note one day closer to an approval, 🙄😏

I also thought this lately! I wonder if it really has slowed down recently … I hope not.

Hi guys, any July approvals recently? By my calculation the early July filers should be getting approved by now, but when I check the timelines (and I do this neurotically lol) some June ones are still pending. I guess the timeline's extending to 9.5 months onwards... I'm going crazy lol

I'm going crazy too. It just feels like such a waste of time away from my husband. We still have NVC to go through too.

I've not seen many July filers approved without a K3

We submitted our application on 6th July 2021 and we are with California. I have noticed that California's processing time estimate has fallen dramatically and we are now in range for a case inquiry, however when we try to submit one it tells us we are not eligible.

    Anyone else experienced this?

Maybe your case was transferred to a service center with a longer processing time
