  1. I had my IV interview yesterday 11th of May. It went well. The CO asked me of my original marriage certificate, and current tax return/transcript of my wife through 221(g) paper. For sometime now my wife is unemployed, she contacted her best friend who has a good job and make a very well amount about $55,000, in 2019, $73,000 in 2020, $125,000 in 2021 and by the end of 2022 she will be making $135,000 to be my joint sponsor and her friend agreed to fill out I-864 form. However, i went to the  government authority (court house where our marriage took place) to obtain a Certify True Copy (CTC) of our original marriage certificate. Yesterday i gathered all the documents i.e CTC of my original marriage certificate, Joint sponsor I-864 form, all the joint sponsor documents includes her tax returns of past three years, her transcript, her pay stub of March and April, her US passport data page, her W2. I uploaded all her documents to CEAC NVC and mail to the embassy copies including the 221(g) paper through DHL. Hope i am good to go or is there anything we fail to include?

Only the petitioner is allowed to fill out the I-864EZ.

Joint sponsors and household members should fill out the I-864 and I-864a (if household member wants their income included)

If the joint sponsor is not using the wife's income to qualify. The wife does not have to complete any forms.

The joint sponsor should include all their W2s and 1099s to show how much they earn/they earn enough.

You should send the joint sponsor these two links and tell them to read the instructions carefully.

    https://www.uscis.gov/i-864

and have them complete this quiz to figure out what supporting documentation they should include.

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/financial-evidence-assistant.html.html

And remember. Your friend received an RFE for the wife's taxes so you should get make sure to submit that paperwork when you send in the joint sponsor information.

ETA: I would request your friend and/or his wife join the site so they can ask questions. This way nothing is lost when you pass on the message.

    Ok... thanks so much

    I-864EZ

You may use Form I-864EZ if ALL the following conditions apply: 1. You are the person who filed or is filing Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored; 2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on Form I-130; and 3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form W-2s provided by your employers or former employers.

Is this related to your previous questions?

Who is the petitioner is it the wife or the husband in your above question?

Or is the US citizen in this latest question a joint sponsor because your wife (your friend's wife???) doesn't make enough money.

Is this also related to the RFE for 2020 tax transcripts? You should still obtain that paperwork even if the petitioner (wife) did not make enough money last year.

Try to keep all your questions in one thread. These short questions do not give the entire story.

The US citizen is a joint sponsor. I would like to know after filling out form I864, will his wife fill out form I864EZ if the husband ( the joint sponsor) uses their joint tax return to sponsor an immigrant visa applicant whose wife ( the petitioner) didn't make enough money.

  4. A friend of mine went for his IV interview and it went successful but the co gave him form 221(g) ticked IRS transcript colum and told him that he should get his wife IRS transcript of 2020 and drop it at DHL office with his traveling passport, unfortunately his wife income wasn't good enough, so please i want to know can he seek for a joint sponsor?  And what is the time frame to submit this IRS transcript of 2020?

  5. A friend of mine ran to me for advice regarding to his IR-1 visa interview. He told me that he had no more means to contact his wife because she told him that she want to move on beacuse the long delay with the visa process. Now the emabssy had invited him for interview and needed him to bring his wife 2020 IRS transcript along with him to the interview but he has with him a duely signed public notary/affidavit of same 2020 tax returns which  his wife used in completeing the filling of I-864 and this notary/affidavit will expire on 03.09.22. So he is confuse and worried. He want to know if he can still present the notary/affidavit of 2020 tax returns in place of his wife 2020 IRS transcript.. if yes, what will be his response or answer if the consulate officer ask why or what about the 2020 IRS transcript?

Sorry that you are going through this.

There is nothing you can do on your end regarding the visa process. If she emails USCIS, NVC or the embassy and informs them that she is no longer proceeding with the petition then it is over. It is also over if she just walks away from this, meaning no longer communicates with the immigration agencies.

You mentioned you 2 are married in your country. If this relations really ends, you should start learning about your divorce options since she is not in the country and possibly not responsive to your questions or being cooperative.

    Good luck.

@Deagle thanks. I had good communication with her yesterday. She was sorry for threatening to divorce me. Everything is okay with us. Thanks

If she really wants to be with another man and doesn't want you to come to her, her one email to the embassy or NVC mentioning that will cancel the interview.

Could it be just a heat of the moment, you two arguing and she saying that?

@arkenI had a good communication with my wife yesterday and she was sorry for the threatening to divorce me. We are good now.

Why would you want to immigrate here if you're divorcing your wife? Sounds like you're more worried about your immigration status than your marriage. This is not an immigration issue, divorce and move on.

@Cathi I am not divorcing my wife, read what i said. She is threatening to divorce me. I love my wife so much! Yesterday I succeeded in reaching out to her on the phone, we spoke very well, and she is calm and from our communication yesterday, she was sorry. I proudly love my wife!

  9. Hi all, please i need your advise. I married my wife June 2019, we applied for my CR1 visa on Febuary 21, 2020, and got DQ November 2020. But my wife is now threatening to divorce me and stop the whole immigration process. She is a US citizen, she came to my country and we both married legally but i was surprised she changed towards everything, she told me that she have started seeing another man over there in US. PLEASE WHAT SHOULD I DO?
