meaghanpk reacted to justkeepwaiting in Time between arrival of medical documents and visa approval
Thank you very much for the advice. I spoke to the visa medicals centre this morning and they got right on it and rang the embassy. They have now confirmed the embassy has my medical and my case has just been updated to "Administrative Processing". It feels very good to stop seeing REFUSED every time I check CEAC. Even if it is just a psychological thing.

Most get the passport within a week when there aren’t additional documents to send. I would have expected you and Daisy to have them by week’s end, but you sorta got out of the work flow so getting back to catch your case up is going to be longer than if you had stayed in the flow. They do sound swamped this week so that kinda creates a bottleneck for you.
You said your husband got no 221(g) paper. He should have because he wasn’t approved (refused) for lack of a marriage certificate. Also makes me think your lady might be new to interview routine as mentioned above and just forgot to give the paper. Status changing to AP is a good sign that the certificate is accepted, And the necessary paperwork and getting the visa printed is moving forward. Just keep checking for “issued”.

Hubs had his interview this AM--all went well! We needed to upload a new copy of our marriage certificate (apparently we had uploaded our license, not the certificate), but the woman said "upload that today and you can consider yourself approved!"
So we uploaded it to CEAC as soon as he walked out of the embassy, and should get his passport back in 2 weeks!
Questions she asked:
- What does your spouse do?
- How did you meet?
- When did you meet?
- When did you start dating?
- Do you have any additional evidence of relationship you want to submit? (and then my husband gave some more photos)
Good luck to everyone!

meaghanpk got a reaction from DaisyJ in CR1 Visa Interview Checklist - Did anyone have any surprises at Interview?
Welp, I have no idea how to delete a post--but I found the signed I-864 in my email (still couldn't figure out how to download it from CEAC, but ho hey, still have it for the interview).

The Dept of State website says:
Gather Documents Required for the Interview
Every visa applicant, no matter their age, must bring certain documents to the interview, including photographs, and the original or certified copy version of all civil documents submitted to NVC. You do not need to bring your Affidavit of Support or financial evidence you submitted to NVC.

Def not the right thread, but I don't know what is so I'm happy to answer here.
The only place you can get your medical done is the place in London. And you need to give appropriate time for the doctors' office to send the case to the embassy--I think the State Dept website says 5 days. I'm not sure if that's 5 business or calendar days.
My husband lives in Perth & Kinross, Scotland, and just had his medical yesterday. His appointment is on September 10th. He was able to get a medical appointment at the same time as he was already planning to be down south to visit a friend, so it worked out well for his schedule. It also gave him a decent amount of time to make sure the embassy received the medical docs in time for the interview.
In terms of traveling up/down, it depends on your schedule, finances and risk tolerance, as I have seen some posts from people who had their interview but the embassy hadn't yet received all the things they needed from the doctor's office, so that could add a delay in processing.

Are we thinking this week or next for the next round of interview notifications? My husband was DQ'd May 7th 2021 and it would be such a relief to even know that they got through everyone DQ'd in March and April so we could reasonably predict that we would hear in September for an October interview.
Sending good vibes to all!

It's looking like people who were DQ'd into mid March are getting interviews in August, which is awesome. Hopefully that means April/May are all September! (just a smidge earlier than your estimates)
